Another brilliant episode 🎉 Thank You. Elsie steals the show at the end, fab👌 Hilarious scenes when Annie was singing, described sarcastically as Kathy Kirby 😀 and Ena goes to Elsie's to fetch her, rather do that than listen to Annie. Ena with Dennis was fab. Looks like the start of Irma & David's relationship properly. A good all rounder of episode.
Those old tellies often took ages to warm up on first switch-on - which often wasn’t much before teatime due to telly not even coming on much before then - and they only had two channels in those days - not your 1,000,000 + today - and it was in black & white! 13:45 Captain Mainwaring - er - Leonard Swindley: “Mrs Lugden!”.
Ken makes Val interrupt the ironing that she is doing while pregnant to go answer the door for his brother's fiancee. OK. Those were different times. :-) Thanks for posting!
So this is from the copy made for international sales - Coronation Street would be sold internationally by Granada, Australia for example were airing it come 1964 on their Nine Network. This is why these gems of the 60s episodes survived.
Very good. One of my favourites, this one.
Brilliant, thanks.

Classic episode before the Classic xmas episode.
A time when actors and actresses could read scripts rapidly .

Cracking episode. Great cast and another great script from Jack Rosenthal. Thanks very much.

Poor Mr. Swindley all that bickering, interruptions, rioting and giggling😂😂😂😂😂😂

I rather liked Mrs Walkers voice! 😂
Have u the 2 December 64 episodes with Billy Walker?
Jack Rosenthal scripted this 1964 episode. His widow, Maureen Lipman, would be in the Corrie cast in 2024.
