Dear Jeremy, I respect you even more after this video. I try to explain all you points to my clients and family and absolutely none of them knew about how they were getting scammed for years from these companies. I hope your style of content never changes, you’re the realest there is
You're being wayyyy to kind regarding AG1. :) LOL! There is so much all over UA-cam knocking them down, especially serious concerns regarding their owner/creator. Even Dr. Rhonda Patrick PhD said "it seems to just be another way to get vitamins". Great video by the way!
Proof that one definitely has to be very careful about what you choose to put in your body.I have always kept it basic when it comes to products.Gotta do your research.Great post.🙌🏻🙏🏻😊
That's why Im glad in my country and generally in Europe there is a lot of law regulations about the food/supplements that are protecting us from getting scammed. For example If the product says there is zero sugar in it, you know that indeed there is no sugar. There is a whole page of laws written for the whole EU about using "marketing" names etc on food products and usually companies are aware of how hard it is to "lie" to their consumer... This is what US should also have.
Amazing how many UA-camrs will picture Optimum nutrition’s gold standard whey in their thumbnail as click bait and then not say anything about the product in the video. This is because they know it’s the number one seller on Amazon and people want information about it and then they don’t deliver.
Yeah, and company knows it too. Their price increase was HUGE compared to a few years ago. I now buy the 10lb bag instead of the 5lb container to eek out a slightly better value in the long-term . But yeah, they know they are the most popular and taking full advantage of it. Grrr..
Yep, I came here thinking there was something wrong with ON whey. But then found out that the likely reason creatine does not seem to do anything for me is that I am probably naturally high in it was awesome.
The best natural supplement you can get also happens to be free: 7+ hours of sleep daily. This does wonders for your strength, energy, and overall recovery.
In places that is not the US. If you put something on the packaging stating nutrition facts and benefits and found to be lies companies face huge legal fines and could be banned from selling their products in that country. In the US they can say what ever they want it seems.
Creatine is the best supplement that you can take, it's been proven more than any other study. Just have to be careful as it has the most window dressing and snake oil around it. Get plain creatine monohydrate from a reputable company
@@AnthonyA-t8f But like was said in the video, not everyone actually needs even creatine supplement. Because just as some have naturally high testosterone levels, some have naturally high creatine levels. I used to take around 4g of creatine / day, but when I took a blood test, my creatine levels were much above normal. I decided to cut down to 2g and haven't felt any difference from this.
@@AnthonyA-t8f There seem to be plenty who report hair loss from creatine use, although I don't have the slightest idea what % of the users they represent. As a general rule of thumb, it's probably best to leave things as nature intended them. If you can become strong and jacked without creatine, what's the point in using it? It may give you a small boost and help you reach your peak earlier, but if you're lifting weights for the right reasons it doesn't really matter as you're going to do that for the rest of your life.
The one I am curious to know is Protein Powder, I've seen a ton of vids of bodybuilders share their opinions about Protein Powder. I've heard that some protein powder brands can scam you because of unnecessary ingredients, feeling ur body weird, not enough emphasis for ur muscles, fat loss, or even losing weight, but that doesn't mean all the brands suck! Don't get me wrong, Protein Powder is great for building muscle and losing weight, but I want to know which brands scam you and which are better! U r awesome Jeremy, keep up the amazing work 😎😎😎
May i add.... it is also very important to be careful what you take when you have an underlying medical condition, i have Rheumatoid arthritis and, i am now back at the gym after a long slog to get my condition under control and decided to start creatin, not only did i get "NO" benefit from taking creatin , it also made my condition worse.... along with taking cod liver oil. It sounds bizarre i know you would think cod liver oil would be beneficial for a joint condition... but it actually makes the condition worse. So it is a true fact to say get medical advice first before taking any supplement, especially if you have a medical condition and taking medications.
Since i watched the John Oliver segment on this kind of stuff i learned that its super under regulated and they can basically lie to you about what's in the stuff they sell you. Makes it hard and worrisome to find an actually good product especially since people can be bought to help sell the lie
Maximum Vibrance Greens products easily eclipse the nutritional value of AG1. Just flip over the bottle to see that two thirds of the entire container is dedicated to showcasing it's contents.
From what I heard: The big problem with cheap multivitamins like Centrum is while those nutrients are technically in the pill, they do not distribute/ absorb in the body.
For those multi vitamin and green supplements you should mention that there are some Vitamins (A,D,E,K) that can intoxicate you longterm if you take to much. Taking more than 100% of them every day CAN (doesn´t have to if you´re lucky) be dangerous
I love your videos. Watching you for a while now (5,5 years). Very informative video with science based fact with a focus on costs. In fact I like all your videos. All the best and keep going, greetings from Germany. 👏👏💪
I applaud you for using words like scam and lie, and for naming products. The public deserves facts, not wiggle words. I also don’t understand people who say they can’t afford to eat healthy. (Especially people who will buy a five dollar cup of coffee.) They need to stop going to high-end grocery stores where, yes, everything is overpriced.
Unfortunately, even veggies and cheap protein foods like chicken, tofu and fish sold on low-end grocery stores and markets in my country are expensive as hell (thanks Anwar for raising the diesel prices). In addition to Ringgit Malaysia that kept plummeting and plummeting, low wages among worker-class families and the unhealthy food choices are now becoming easier to get because we're lazy to cook at home XD So yeah, Malaysia is doomed with fat and unhealthy people around us. Took AG1 for quite a while till I looked at my credit card monthly statement and realized just how much it costed. That plus another video I watched with pretty much said what you said here made me go, nah I will just make a fruit and veggie smoothie (which probably costs me similar or more tbh but at least its getting me the actual food and calories to boot)
A very interesting and informative video. You had me scared about Creatine for a minute, you saying that it wasn’t safe or something, (thank goodness). Makes you think twice about these.
Some diet doctor said protein powder causes A1C to look worse. I didn't understand why. She, and other doctors, said to eat solid protein and avoid denatured protein--powders.
Same. AG1 has been great for me. I no longer need coffee and it’s worked way better than any probiotic I’ve ever taken. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is that it certainly has made a major positive difference in the way I feel
With your comparison of AG1 to a multi-vitamin tablet, it's worth noting that studies have shown that taking supplements in liquid form increases the percententage of the nutrients that are absorbed than in physical form
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system
My experience with creatine (started ~3 weeks ago) is that I do feel noticeably better in general. I feel less tired. Strength and recovery: I dunno. My recovery of starting heavy deadlifts took about a week (I'm 40) and that wasn't short, usually my recovery takes 3 days or so. More strength? Maybe yes, I do Bodypump and the exercises are easier. But I could just have become stronger naturally. Then again, I had plateaud for the past year (I do Bodypump 2x a week.) I'll definitely follow the science :) Awesome work on this video and please keep sharing new findings!
Cudos to you Jeremy, thanks for the excellent analysis and information. Thanks for your character and integrity in doing a video like this when it's not the norm!!!
7:49 not to mention that antioxidants have been shown not to work in supplement form, leading to the theory that it's not antioxidants themselves that provides the benefits, but something else.
I take diesel whey because it's easier on my stomach as well as EAAs and I find it helps. I havent incorporated creatine but thats next on the list. Tried a bunch of other supplements but always find the best results with whey and EAAs
FDA is concerned about drugs, treatment not supplements so you can basically put grinned lemon seeds in a fancy bottle and advertised it as a supplement though there is some supplements that are verified by FDA it is not obligation
@@TheBoobanThey would need a lot more people, a higher budget and permission to go after companies for supplements that aren’t putting people in the hospital. Look up the political shitstorm that happened the last time the government went after vitamins companies for misleading claims and you’ll see some context for why they don’t do that anymore.
Creatine really works for me. I haven't taken in consistently due to the hair loss claims, but I've taken it for a few weeks and around week 4 of 3-5g/day, I 100% look so much fuller, more energy during my workouts, and feel less tired throughout the day. When I stop taking it, it takes around 3-4 weeks to fully leave the body, but I lose that pumped look. I'll wake up and my arms are really vascular while on it. It's funny because the only time I've gotten compliments on my arms is when I've taken creatine. When I stop, I think they lose about .5-1" in size. I do notice it messes with my sleep though. I'm been off it for 3-4 weeks now and have been able to sleep through the night without waking up. When I'm taking it, I'll wake up around 2-3am and cannot fall back asleep. I'll toss and turn until I have to get up. I don't know if I want to take it anymore and I'm prone to hair loss and don't know for certain if it could speed the process up.
We should discuss NSF certification and it's importance in the unregulated supplement industry. NSF-certified supplements are a smart choice for several reasons: Safety and Quality Assurance: NSF certification ensures that the supplement has been tested for harmful contaminants and meets rigorous quality standards. Label Accuracy: Supplements with NSF certification are verified to contain the ingredients listed on the label in the amounts specified, reducing the risk of adulteration or mislabeling. Third-Party Testing: NSF certification involves independent, third-party testing, providing an additional layer of trust and transparency. Compliance with Regulations: NSF-certified supplements comply with regulatory standards, which can be especially important for athletes and individuals subject to strict anti-doping regulations. Consumer Trust: The NSF mark is widely recognized and trusted by consumers, healthcare providers, and organizations, providing confidence in the product’s safety and efficacy. Using NSF-certified supplements helps ensure that you are getting a product that is both safe and effective, minimizing the risks associated with unverified or low-quality supplements.
Creatine is pretty much the only supplement with research studies backing it. I notice cheap brands upset my stomach and expensive brands don’t. So that is something with Creatine manufacturing. You can use liquid iodine to check and see if your supplements have worthless fillers.
What about Glutamine? A lot of people are taking it at my gym, and I’m thinking on trying it. I’m only taking Creatine MH, no other protein or AA supplements
Well done Jeremy, you could not be more correct but sadly many young guys even when solid evidence as you have given here in your UA-cam - will still buy this rubbish. Years ago when becoming a retrained Maths & Science Teacher which required me to teach GCSE Biology, I had to do a great deal of studying to do my pupils' justice for their final exams, as such I learnt that the simple wise choice of good foods gave you all the supplements needed to maintain good muscles. Over the years and now 71 I am no hulk but according to several doctors, physio and massage therapists I have 'excellent' muscles and bone structure due to my healthy diet and regular exercise. And in all my life, I have NEVER ever bought or drunk any protein powder drink.
I'm picky about veggies myself so AG1 is a great way for me to get mine. I wouldn't get them otherwise by and large. Also it actually does tastes decent.
I love AG1, but my credit card says otherwise… been taking it for three years aprox. Recently changed to a more local one which contain powder from grass juice rather then grass. And I take Ashwaganda on the side and some kefir. Also mixing it with daily creatine. Never felt better!

Can you talk about the "Leucine" threshold though?? And how if you don't meet it, you may need to supplement Leucine with food to activate MPS.
Some diet doctor said protein powder causes A1C to look worse. I didn't understand why. She, and other doctors, said to eat solid protein and avoid denatured protein--powders.
how about a video of what vegetables and how much to create your own green smoothie?
I personally feel a difference with taking AG1 but agree they could be more clear about how much of each ingredient is in it
Same. AG1 has been great for me. I no longer need coffee and it’s worked way better than any probiotic I’ve ever taken. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is that it certainly has made a major positive difference in the way I feel
With your comparison of AG1 to a multi-vitamin tablet, it's worth noting that studies have shown that taking supplements in liquid form increases the percententage of the nutrients that are absorbed than in physical form
can't you not just open the capsule and put it in water on your own
@@MHWGamer Yes with capsules you can but I'm talking about tablets which is what he showed in the video
so just throw your multi in a smoothie then lol
@@TheAbandonedAccount7 or crush it up and snort it 😂
Thanks for another great informative video! 👍🏼 I really wish I knew about the BCAA’s a long time ago, I would’ve saved a lot of money 😫
Great video, but how are you holding that fork 🤨🤯
The more I investigate 'Studies' supporting a narrative, the more I find out that we don't know that much definitively.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system
holyshit
🤣👍
We really like your video style! It's very attractive and authentic❤
this video is why i follow you man!
Waiting for more like this!
Then again, I had plateaud for the past year (I do Bodypump 2x a week.)
I'll definitely follow the science :) Awesome work on this video and please keep sharing new findings!
make sure to drink a lot of water when taking creatine
3 weeks isn't enough to tell crap. Give it minimum 6 weeks
@@AnthonyA-t8f Ok! Placebo effect might be tricking me ;)
I knew about weak studies of bcaa but every time when i take bcaa i see good changes in my body, personally on me bcaa works
Thank you sir!
Excellent presentation, thank you !
Bill P.
Thanks for uploading this valuable knowledge 👍🏾
Thanks man! I was actually thinking about buying some "green powder".
I take diesel whey because it's easier on my stomach as well as EAAs and I find it helps. I havent incorporated creatine but thats next on the list. Tried a bunch of other supplements but always find the best results with whey and EAAs
what do you think of collagen supplements?
hey Jeremy, what do you think about that innosups night shred thing. it's all over social media
You know the answer.
Ascent brand creatine seemed to make the joints in my hands hurt, and it's Creapure - when I ceased use, that went away
thanks for explaining this 💪
Really good video dude 💯
I haven't seen any research on how BCAAs help workouts, and I think this is the first I've seen saying they harm your workout. Makes sense.
Nice video. I'm so thankful that I've just always LOVED my veggies. Green powders are a gross and expensive scam.
Great video! Why is whey protein on the video cover though?
Click bait..
I thought he would definitely include protein powders. Disappointed.
Usually the instructions on the package say to take more of the supplement than the literature says. That way, they can sell you it again sooner.
Excellent analysis!
You’re the best Jeremy ! Thank you for the information
So detailed! No wonder 6.6M subs 💪
I did not know about BCAA and EAA. I am switching out and o my getting EAA for my pre-workout supplement drink additive.
The FDA is like the FAA and Boeing.
Man, this is accurate!
FDA is concerned about drugs, treatment not supplements so you can basically put grinned lemon seeds in a fancy bottle and advertised it as a supplement though there is some supplements that are verified by FDA it is not obligation
@@ahmednassar8514 isn’t the F in FDA “food”? Maybe they don’t understand their mission, just like the FAA didn’t, or is there another agency?
Supplements became unregulated with DSHEA in 1994. Corruption at its finest.
Hey, when do you take 5mg dose in a day? Before or after the workout?
We should discuss NSF certification and it's importance in the unregulated supplement industry. NSF-certified supplements are a smart choice for several reasons:
Safety and Quality Assurance: NSF certification ensures that the supplement has been tested for harmful contaminants and meets rigorous quality standards.
Watching the I'm thankful to live in a country that actually regulates supplements, marketing and bans the crap ingredients.
I'd love to have more info about creatine HCL and how consistent you have to be with it to have results.
I use BCAA's and I noticed a drastic difference in my soreness, recovery and gains. Some people can benefit from supplementing them.
That just means you have a shitty diet and/or consume a garbage protein product.
Thanks for the info, what is your opinion on L-Carnitine, is it a scam?
Awesome channel, Jeremy. After watching your videos, I always leave more knowledgeable than before and motivated. Thank you. 💙
Thank u very interesting @Jeremy Either. I always enjoy your content. Is your fat loss program fir men only?
I'm picky about veggies myself so AG1 is a great way for me to get mine. I wouldn't get them otherwise by and large. Also it actually does tastes decent.
Great info. Thanks.
Which products contained banned substanses? That is crazy! I need to know this so i can avoid these products!
I love AG1, but my credit card says otherwise… been taking it for three years aprox. Recently changed to a more local one which contain powder from grass juice rather then grass. And I take Ashwaganda on the side and some kefir. Also mixing it with daily creatine. Never felt better!
tl;dr
Creatine yes, but not fancy one, prefere monohydrate.
BCAA no, can be subbed with EAA.
Green Powder no, just eat healthier.
