This was possibly the greatest live rock & roll performance of all time. A three piece band criminally over looked. They are the greatest band I've ever seen.
*cough* Cream *cough* ... I like this performance, but were was the second e-guitar came from in the end? Ever since my father told me that there was a big rumor back in the day about GFR being kind of industry plants and faked a lot i cant shake the suspicion.. but this was a killer performance nonetheless
They were huge back in the day. Mark Farner (guitarist) is still rocking today. Biggest travesty is that they are still not in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
Hey ladies! Glad you are enjoying the music my generation grew up on. That long haired handsome man on lead guitar and vocals is Mr Mark Farner. It has been my pleasant honor to have him as one of my neighbors for 30 plus years. He is as kind and gentle a family man as he is talented. I do not give my admiration or comments lightly and I admire Mark greatly. Peace and love to you! Keep on rocking!
I Own Every Grand Funk Railroad Album & Cd's Seen Them In Concert 4 Times What A Great Band To Be Jammin To At The Age Of 9 Years Young With Head Phones But Yet Not Even A Mention At The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame , So Sad 5 / 12 / 21
One of the greatest rock bands of any year and day, very underrated but the fans who know of them are true till the end and we love them. They have some of the greatest songs ever played and known to man, of course, they were unknown because there were bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath that took the music industry by storm. Anyway I am new to your channel and I went through the list of reactions you have done and you have an awesome collection of many greats. So many bands to check out and so little time to do it, UFO, Triumph, April Wine, MSG (Micheal Schenker), Thin Lizzy to name a few of that era, I would like to introduce you to a new band of today that have brought back that beautiful sound of rock, a band out of Japan and all-female rock band called Lovebites here is a link to a very classic sound of Prog metal "Edge of the World" I know you girls are going to love it ua-cam.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/v-deo.html
That could’ve went on ALL DAY and I wouldn’t have got tired of it. And it was SO COOL watching 2 young, beautiful ladies of a different ethnicity having an authentic, awesome reaction to some old white hippies giving an amazing performance like that. I’m shook! *INCREDIBLE* 🎤 🎸 🥁
what i like about grand funk railroad is that they can play a "cover song" such as "inside looking out" which was originally written by eric burdon and the animals and grand funk railroad can IMPROVISE AND MAKE IT THEIR OWN VERSION!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,,,the next song you should check out is "footstompin' music" WHICH BELONGS ON EVERYBODY'S ALARM CLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,other fine songs from GFR are "we're an american band",,,,"nothing is the same",,,"the locomotion",,,"i've come tumblin",,,,,,and the instrumental "flight of the phoenix"!!!!!!!!!!! in 1971 grand funkrailroad played outdoors at new york's shea stadium and sold out 60,000 tickets within 8 hours !!!!!!!!!!1 GFR SOLD OUT SHEA STADIUM FASTER THAN THE BEATLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,yes, grand funk railroad DOES BELONG IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love ur reaction / appreciation......was my favorite band in 71....i was 12 ....let my hair grow like marks for 3 4 yrs....took drum lessons because of don
Our boyfriends looked like that...great time to be young! Edit.. they do a song called “Paranoid”. That is hard core rock, check out the studio version, the live ones are muddy. New sub, loved watching you two react to this. ❤️✌️
Coming of age in the greatest musical era of our time (mid 60's through mid 70's) I was very familiar with Grand Funk Railroad's hits that were played on the radio. But I had never heard or seen this performance until about a month ago when I stumbled upon it while watching "reaction videos". Since then, I have watched every reaction video to this performance that I have found. This is the most amazing, intense, passionate live performance I have EVER seen! These guys were at their peak here, with Mark (the lead singer) being only 19 years old, while the other two guys were 20. In this performance everything was at it's peak: their musicianship, the vocals, the front man and the group's stage presence. I likely will die before I see another performance as amazing as this.
If you liked this you should really check out their live concert at Shea stadium in 1971 here on youtube . Grand Funk Railroad sold out the 55,000 tickets in 72 hours. It took 3 weeks for the Beatles to sell out the same 55,000 tickets. Remember this was standing in line to buy tickets.
A few suggestions girls.. These guys - Grand Funk, "I'm Your Captain (Closer to Home)" Band is Foghat - "Slow Ride" And if you not yet listen to and watch live Stevie Ray Vaughan is a must.. This is a never ending journey with classic rock and SRV heart & soul pure passion blues..
I'm so sad that I found this so late but I absolutely enjoyed your reaction I love Grand Funk Railroad and I'm so happy that you liked it too have a wonderful wonderful blessed day I hope you still get this peace and love my friends✌❤🙏🤜🤛
as of 3/14/2021 i noticed there were 2 thumbs down to this sensational song!!!!!! i have a wonderful suggestion: TURN THE VOLUME ON YOUR COMPUTER,THEN SLIDE THE VOLUME ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT AND THEN GIVE IT A THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!it is so much enjoyable when you can LISTEN TO MUSIC WITH THE VOLUME ON !!!!!!!!!!
That was the best reaction I've seen yet !!! Your heads were trying to keep up with each stum of the lead guitarist. Especially your daughter ! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Grand Funk didn't do a bad song. I got to see them in concert in 1972, I was 12 years old, best $8.00 dollars I ever spent. Although the Live CD .............................. Mark Don & Mel 69-71 is the best, Don Brewer was one of inspirations to get my own drum kit and teach myself to play cause I just wanted to do what he did !!!
Wait until you hear these Grand Funk Railroad songs: In Need I'm Your Captain Nothing Is The Same Sin's A Good Man's Brother High Falootin' Woman Time Machine Footstomping Music Inside Looking Out T.N.U.C. Aimless Lady Got This Thing On The Move Listen to the studio versions, better than live performances.
Just for fun check out Yoyoka Soma covering We're an American Band by Grand Funk. She is an 11 year old drummer from Japan who just was named as one of the top 500 drummers in the world on the Drummer World website. The youngest person ever to be so honored! Her cover is fantastic and she radiating joy as she totally dominates the tune!
Awesome reaction video, ladies! There is certain aspect of moist genuineness in your physical output this time... I love it. I found Grand Funk Railroad a few years ago by picking up some remastered cd edition of their _E Pluribus Funk_ album (1972). Just imagine listening through the whole album already quite fond of and used to their intense and tight blues-rock trio sound - and arriving to the last track _Loneliness_ : ua-cam.com/video/AmogwyZ0qVw/v-deo.html . I would love to see people to react to this track the first time with these same expectations as heard on this Nepali Girls reaction video: the sound of tight and gritty blues-rock trio. Listen, and let the music grow...
The best bands are three piece power bands. Grand Funk, Jimi Hendrix, ZZTop, Rush, The Police, Cream, nirvana, James Gang, Emerson Lake and Palmer and at least a hundred more.
WOW! You traveled way back in your time machine! Love them and love your reactions! If you like this react to Stevie Ray Vaughn! He was amazing! Or for raw emotion and sheer talent Sometimes I Cry by Chris Stapleton. Chills!
oh by the way your REACTIONS to "inside looking out" WERE TERRIFIC !!!!!!!,,,,,actually GFR'S best song is from their 3rd album "CLOSER TO HOME( I'M YOUR CAPTAIN)!!!!!!! the song is around 9 minutes long !!!!! "inside looking out" i would give it an A RATING !!!!!!!! the song "CLOSER TO HOME( I'M YOUR CAPTAIN )I WOULD GIVE IT AN A++++ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was our senior high school soundtrack and during the summer of 1970.
