As for the reason why it happens at the school seems pretty evident if you have watched the entier series also the Korean title of “All Of Us Are Dead” is “Jigeum uri Hakgyoneun” which translates to Now at Our School.
There are actually a lot BL Kdramas these days, it's improving! They are mostly short though but we'll get there :) Thailand, Taiwan and Japan do have bigger content in this industry. Especially Thailand. If we go for a BL Kdrama, Semantic Error is currently going on, or First Love Again and Cherry Blossoms After Winter will air tomorrow it's first Ep. Korea is still very close minded but you can actually see a great change :))
Also, the drama Color Rush, which starred Hyunjun Hur (former member of the Boyz, currently a soloist) in the 1st season. There's also a second season too.

Korea has actually been releasing a lot of BLs since 2020, and specially in February of this year, like 4 new BL dramas were released. Even if they still have a very small audience (domestically) and not that much backup from big production companies, they are coming in strong! I personally recommend To My Star (Which will have a second season being released this year), Light on Me (the korean BL with the longest runtime for now: 16 episodes of 15-30 min each), and Semantic Error (Which is airing right now)
My favorite Korean BL’s: Blueming To My Star (about to get a season 2) Light on Me Semantic Error First Love Again Where Your Eyes Linger Cherry Blossoms after Winter (yet to release but the webtoon was great) There’s many more but these are the ones I think really do queer stories/relationships justice. Taiwanese and Japanese BL’s are also some of my favorites. Hope you guys will check one out someday.

it always amazes me that no matter what type of asian show your watching they all have the same trope and vibe to them the inner dialogues happens in indian dramas as well, the cliches and dramatics of the love story are always the same wether u look at korea china pakistan india or turkey
All of us are dead is set in a school because the first zombie came from that school so the students are the first one to suffer and the fact that it has more scenes at the school is because they are trapped inside it but there is chaos happening outside of school too.
All of Us Are Dead isn't related to Train to Busan. If you enjoyed Train to Busan though, I highly recommend Happiness, which is available on Viki. I think the series would've gotten more worldwide recognition had it been picked up by Netflix. Song Joong-ki (Vincenzo) is an awesome actor and I love him as Yoo Si-jin. Fun fact-- One of his nephews is named Si-jin and he looks so much like Joong-ki. Hope you guys get back to doing some ONE OK ROCK reactions soon!
11:43 there are actually some really nice korean bls out there, not very widely known because as you said, korea is a very conservative country so some ppl are not very accepting of these kinds of dramas but there are some good ones out there, they are not as lengthy as the "straight dramas" tho lol, they are mostly about 8-10 episodes long with about 15-20 minutes per episode, some that I personally would recommend are "where your eyes linger", "to my star", "color rush (it has 2 seasons as of now), "Mr.heart", "Wish you", "you make me dance", "light on me" etc...

There are becoming more, especially because of korean BL's, but if you're talking about the 'mainstream' k-drama's that air on tv, there aren't a lot. They are usually side characters. For example, there is Hyun-Yi, a transgender character, in Itaewon Class, a gay couple in Move to Heaven (great drama, definitely recommend) and Choi Ho-Dol and Joo Won-seok, two gay side characters who will become a couple in Love with Flaws (which aired on MBC).

I don't Think All of Us Are Dead is a sequel to Train to Busan. Train to Busan was a movie and it's sequel was Peninsula. Whereas All of Us Are Dead is a drama where Train To Busan exists as a Movie and not reality.

Korea had also produced some LGBT themed series but it wasnt as welcomed as Semantic Error and Cherry Blossom after winter. I've been into BL since 2013 and I've watched a lot (mostly Thai BL) and also read a lot (manga/manhua/wattpad/)... So anyways, I've watched a lot of Korean BL but the theme was too dark . its either they chose suicide bec they dont wanna be separated.. or they just choose to be straight than face what they really are... its just that the ending are almost the same: tragic.

I don't Think All of Us Are Dead is a sequel to Train to Busan. Train to Busan was a movie and it's sequel was Peninsula. Whereas All of Us Are Dead is a drama where Train To Busan exists as a Movie and not reality.
Efra you only watch the 1st episode please continue to watch it to understand and it's not a sequel to train to Busan it was based on a webtoon

I've been into BL since 2013 and I've watched a lot (mostly Thai BL) and also read a lot (manga/manhua/wattpad/)... So anyways, I've watched a lot of Korean BL but the theme was too dark . its either they chose suicide bec they dont wanna be separated.. or they just choose to be straight than face what they really are... its just that the ending are almost the same: tragic.
