  • Quick tutorial for the Facebook NAM community on how to set up ReAmping and get it to working with interfaces with only 2 Inputs & 2 Outputs!
    Since I think this can help out other people as well I set it now to public, as it's not a nicely made video by any means (no cuts, edits, just me showing my setup and talking)
    Hope you still enjoy it!

      Sorry man, I am deaf one sided, so no stereo perception 😂 I only hear that stuff is "there", but not where it's coming from due to this. But the video was already finished and actually only meant for the NAM Facebook group, hence the casual style. But then I decided to make it public :-)

    Uhhhhhh, You could have had some links to the reamp box, load box, and how many ohms the amp was at. That would have been helpful. :)~

      Hi, thanks for watching first. This video was SUPER casual and actually only meant for the NAM facebook group back then when it counted 300. But I am thinking about redoing everything in nice fashion, showing my learnings etc. and present them in proper fashion.

    Thanks for the tutorial. You should consider getting a sweetwater affiliate link and linking to the reamp box you like.

      Thanks for the nice words! I have never checked anything in regard of sweetwater affiliation links, I might think about that option and check if there is any possibility to do so.

    Great tutorial. I am going to try to reamp some of my own amps. Do you know a place where can we share the captured models by the way?

      Hey, glad you wanna reamp your gear! In the Facebook group there is a featured / pinned thread where we comment our links to models!

    how to stop training capture locally without losing the nam profile?

    • @PippPriss
      @PippPriss  Рік тому +1

      Not 100% sure, but during training click once CTRL+C, it will then abort training at the current time and spit out a model as is.

    Thanks for the tutorial, I have a couple of amplifier that I'd like to capture, however I have one question, how would I "dial" the amps before recording, should everything be set at noon? Or should I create different captures with different settings?

      I am deaf one-sided (these means I cannot perceive stereo at all nor any room perception in regard of audio, I only hear if audio is there or not, so I did not realize until people pointed that out to me , and this video was super casual actually only for the NAM facebook group when it only counted 300 members and was set to private. But there was some information which I found useful at the time, and the member count has blown out of proportions, so I set it to public for at least some people to learn a thing or two. Reactions so far have been nice, helped quite some people getting their ReAmping set up.
      So sorry for the one sided audio, hope you still can somehow enjoy and learn a bit from it. I will redo a video on the subject of ReAmping soon.

    Can I use a Boss pedal, which has a buffer, instead of a reamp box which I don't have?

    • @km24music9
      @km24music9 Рік тому

      some are getting this done fine. i use zero reamp box or di in the input to the amp from my behringer interface.i just send the signal from on output to the amp and then from the back the amp through a analog passsive DI box parallel power to the speaker cab. then to the computer through the low Z xlr which is 600 ohms into sound interface i also have an attenuator switch on the di box i leave at 0DB but i could always cut to -40db or -20db .i mute the output signal inside the daw. dont need to hear that horrible noise. gain adds. and when converted with nams trainer program some of that noise people say they want gone actually is sound you want because gain is distortion.just gain stage to get close to the input test signal wave source and bingo great mixes i use a -20 db cut on the interface preamp.

      some get good results with a boss pedal set the eq to flat and then gain off for the pedal and then use the output volume to control the signal,some say put the pedal input reverse to output never got that way of thinking. just gain staging is what its doing basically. but a di between doesnt hurt but can change the amps captured sound which some like some hate. its preferences on tone shifts some di and reamp boxes color the tone and makes something different.

      I have tried this and made a video - search my channel for ReAmp Box, and it should pop up.
      However, in short: it can work, but unsatisfactory in my case due to hum issues etc. But your mileage may vary, and better worth trying out than never finding out.

    Not the simplest thing ever but it's up and working, now just to get it running with the Axe I/O and my Captor 8 load box. Thanks for all the assistance!

      No worries, glad it worked for you - actually, it's a pain in the ass to set up 😀But it does work well. However, I switched over to a bigger audient iD44 for avoiding this switching around etc.

      I use the Palmer DACAPPO, which has been succeeded by the Palmer Trave, but seems to be a very similar unit. I like my Palmer ReAmping box, it does the job well enough.

    hmmm weirdly i never do that pan for the input test signal for the amp signal in i go into reapers routing and just put the left output to mono in the menu. no panning is necessary. but its your way and i respect that you get the tone you want that way! and i take the signal and turn it off so it doesnt go to the master channel. there for when rendering do as a stem and make sure the convert only mono to mono files. it makes life easier when the signal path is straight! pretty good for having hearing loss. i think your doing good. i do zero panning before because it changes my signal . i also mute the output recorded and i dont send it to the master as well. makes life easier when you can seperate without panning. still respect on your method. if it works do it.

    • @PippPriss
      @PippPriss  Рік тому

      Your method perhaps is way better than mine. I just found this out "on the fly" and this video was actually just meant for the NAM FB group as a casually "here are my findings" video, but the increased interest in this topic led me to setting this video for public display.
      Best is of course to simply get an interface with 4 outputs.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!
