  • Hi everyone, in this video we continue our series "In Depth". This time it's Dolphin Stadium formerly known as Whale and Dolphin Stadium. This stadium used to be the home to killer whale(s). I will give you some facts about the stadium and will even present to you a clip from SeaWorld's Inside Look. As well as present to you the shows past and present. The shows include Whale and Dolphin Discovery, Dolphin Days, Blue Horizons, Touch the Sky and the current show-Dolphin Adventures. I never did record any of the shows featuring the killer whale(s). When Shamu Stadium opened in the early 1980s, obviously the killer whales were moved to their huge new home. There is still more to come from this In-Depth series. Stay Tuned. Please feel free to comment down below. Thanks, and enjoy.

Hello, my name is Barry, and, on this channel, we visit each of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks and the SeaWorld Family of Parks including SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa, and eventually SeaWorld Texas and SeaWorld California and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. (not sure when we will go to Texas and/or California or even Virginia, but we will eventually) We spotlight rides, shows, attractions, exhibits and whatever is new at each park. We will also bring to you Holiday offerings and other festivals that the parks may offer. I will also visit Central Florida's other Theme Parks and Attractions including Universal Orlando and Legoland Florida and more! You may ask, why we do this? Well, we do this because we love the parks, and we would like to share some of what we know about these parks to all of you! We will visit these parks weekly, with new videos added every week. The dolphin show used to have orcas in that pool? What year was that ? How many orcas were in there and I wonder if it was Katina in there. Orcas Swimming along side bottle nose dolphins ? I heard in the 80’s there was a petting pool for orcas

Well, in Orlando it was from when the park opened in 1973 all the way to the early 1980's when Shamu Stadium opened. And I believe it was just one or two orcas. I was just a little kid at the time. I doubt it was Katina. Also, if memory serves, the orcas and dolphins were separated. And if I remember correctly, there were only 2 dolphins, using the stage names Cindy and Sandy. This was in the 70's and very early 80's. As for a petting area for orcas, that was never in Orlando. I believe in the early days at SeaWorld San Diego (1964), you could there.
