I would have used a forstner or larger bit to countersink that massive head, then use some dowelling for plugs. At least you can sand and stain the plugs.
I doubt it!
@@Asgro what do you doubt? lol!!!!! These HUGE ASS bolts with big old heads are stupid. Counter sink and cap them with wood plugs. Simple.
@@Asgrosome people like to do quality work. But I guess that’s not for everyone.
Countersink the head of the screw…..then pug a plug in it, cut smooth, sand down, never ever know there’s a screw there.
Been enjoying your vids
A true CRAFTSMAN
I see a lot of negative comments.... show some love. Be positive
I know. I really appreciate the love!
GOD BLESS
Pointing out the flaws is actually positive .. he can learn from them how to do it right making him better at it and possibly making more money and getting more referrals for more business... The owner of this stair set is not going to refer him to anyone else ..😂😂
Cool 😎 thanks
Nice work Man! Keep up the great videos
Thank you!
Nice. But, the box store lumber and Trex Enhanced isn't to strong. Clam Shell? .. Should've gone with .60 PT. Looks great though.
Spax. A secret weapon for carpenters and doing work around your house 👍
Nice job brother
Now all you need is graspable handrails.
Perfect!!!!!! Keep doing what your doing
Thank you, I appreciate that!
You have knowledge that I can/will be able to do
Look strong AF!😮😮😮😮
Yes
@@talenteddad Love the attention to detail, wow
Thanks for the tip!
Makes logical sense
Outstanding.
I like this!
Thanks
yeah could you come over here for a minute I need new steps
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Screw the comments, nice work.
Thank you!
Counter sink the heads with a paddle bit then wood filler over them
Looks good...Would love someone to build me a beck like that...looks good on the net but sadly some do substandard work ...I was cheated so many times I don't know who to trust...smh
Fasteners don't bother me, it's outdoor construction. I might have cut returns for the board ends though. Looks good, we're not all Norm Abrams. :)~
Looks nice 👍😊
Thank you
@@talenteddad yw:))
I think its correct. nice jobe.
Thank you I appreciate it!
Where are you located?
Hell yeah
what size are these screws can you give the specs
I believe it was 6 inches.
Weird combo of materials
Are those following code in your area.
Putting them through the post and into the end of the railing isn't the right way to do it. You're putting it into the grain of that railing. You should do it so the screw goes through the railing and threads into the post.
This set of stairs is great for people that don't mind seeing all the fasteners in different colors than the material, and are not in straight lines on the treads...😂😂
Keep scrolling, no one ask you!
@@alcantrell5340 no one asked you to comment on my comment ..
So on your way little boy who knows nothing about quality work ...🤣
The coating on those timber locks looks janky... Hope they don't bleed
Makes sense with the fasteners, but you use ryobi bro?
Just shows he's not a tool snob!
Awesome Job Brother 👍🏾
Thank you I appreciate it!
Looks great. But man, get your countersink out. Takes almost no time and looks so much cleaner
Yes for sure
Looks nice but the facts are this 16 penny coated sinkers...ie nails.....provide greater shear resistance and holding power....it take 3000 pounds to shear a single nail....imagine if there are four nails.
@@2256jimmy no of course not but there are ways to nail it solid....do it all the time.....never had a joint fail all my life.
Makes no sense, uses composite materials for the floor , but uses treated wood for the posts and top and bottom rails , why ? The wood won’t last as long nor as well as the floor will !
Why on Earth are you not countersinking and then plugging and hiding your screw
What brand screws?
I don't recall
They look like SPAX
Is that cedar
The stamp on the one post identifies it as kiln dried to 19% heat treated Southern Pine. Standard pressure treated lumber I believe.
correct
Doesn’t look good. Better to use galvanized brackets
Nice ryobi. I wouldnt trust you to hold a wrench. Buy some real tools.
why do you have to be so mean to random people man
@@shilohrodrigues5662 i am a carpenter. You cant trust s guy with a ryobi to build anything of merit. Ive also been a bartender for 10 years. And you cant expect a tip out of someone who orders a Cadillac margarita if its not on a coctail menu. Its not me being mean these are facts.
@@shilohrodrigues5662 most currently im an electrician and i can tell you, you really cant trust most people who claim to be electricians.
@@XMooseManX what tool line are you in?
@@dylanwheaton2785 im an electrician i. i use klein and milwakee. But ill respect a man with a craftsman or sears before a ryobi.
Gorgeous job!
