You both are dumbasses. Complimenting a significant other is harder for some people than others. I complement my friends all the time but rarely ever compliment my girlfriend. It's not cause I'm in love with my friends. But I just feel weird doing it. Plus he is trying to compliment her. She is just choosing to not believe the compliments which then goes back to her insecurities. So she wants him to compliment her but doesn't trust him when he does. You see the issue here? It's not him. It's her. She needs to work on herself a lot. if your landlord won't pay you back your deposit when court ordered to do so, in a lot of places you can take them to court for trebble (triple) damages, and they'll have to pay the court, not you, and then the money is passed along without you having to interact with them to collect. The courts are VERY good about getting money from people.

The last story I completely understand it. I’m a guy I’ve been in solid relationships for the past 16 years. I struggle with giving compliments. It’s much easier to give them to my friends both male and female then to my wife. I’ve had struggles in past relationships where I gave every thing to my exs and had blind faith in it only to get run over. I don’t think my wife would ever do that but it’s still a struggle.
I could understand this sentiment for someone that has recently gotten out of a relationship that was less than ideal or was downright toxic... but you just said that you've been in a relationship for sixteen years with the same person and still find it difficult to compliment and give your all to your wife. Example, she says that my plants are too close to the air conditioner and it's going to burn up. They were two feet away from it! You won't even know she's there until you see her on the patio messing with something. What in the world do you do about that??? She comes over sometimes twice a week " just to chelk on things. Its a quad townhouse with no fence in the back to keep her out! It's it's gotten to the point where our a quiet enjoyment is being disrupted because we feel like we're on pins and needles wondering if she's going to come by and jump on us for something. It's borderline harassment at this point.
Last story: OMFG everyone the 🍑🕳️. Dude needs to get over the chick that broke his heart BUT OP needs to get over herself. He's telling her compliment as she asked but then reads into it.
