Great video, would you suggest that pin nails would be good for nailing 2x4 together or would they be too thin/short?

no, way to small, at least use a finish nailer for 2x4s

This depends upon the use of the 2x4's. Typically 2x4's are attached together using a framing nailer when they are used for framing. If you want to sister 2x4's together (depending upon the use), you can potentially use something as small as an 8d nail. But basically no, a pin nailer is the smallest nailer, and 2x4's need close to the largest conventional nailer.
