I've been on many battle walks, or "death marches", as we affectionately call them, with Troy over the years. We've walked a lot of miles and I've learned so much. The learning never stops with this man. I'd do it all again.

Troy is all business. His style reminds of an encyclopedia coming to life read out load full of detail but I really like he has been able to take all given to him and present it with his own twist. He a true critical thinker.

Thank you StuffWriter for this battle walk and all the battle walks so far this summer! Loved the topic of this walk and seeing some attention to the true left flank of the Federal Army! Troy is so good at the little details and making you think beyond the popular stories of the battle.

was fortunant enough to meet Troy a few years back on a trip to Gettysburg and he was very kind with his time as he was most likely trying to go somewhere when I stopped him. was kind of like meeting a celebrity.

I’ve watched videos by Pete Carmichael and didn’t know it was him. He has a very similar style to Troy in that he gives you the feeling of the people involved vs just the facts or what happened. He died too young and sorry to see him go. Legends live forever RIP

Two hands holding together at both the index and long fingers where the thumbs are pointed inwards as Hoods divisions on the flanks...
The left pinky finger will be where Sickles Third Corps placed itself instead of covering Little Round Top on July 2nd...
To bad Longstreet didn't send Pickets Charge south around Big Round Top into Hoods lines... Sigh...

Just saying but on this walk you would have passed a house at the corner of Howe avenue and the Tawneytown Road and the house which is no longer standing was where my paternal grandmother grew up and like the house has a part in Presidental history and the part it has is Eisenhower visited the house to see a stone monument and my paternal grandmothers dad my great grandfather told my great grandmother that Eisenhower was there and he she didn’t believe him as he was a trickster/jokester.

He should have gone with a better cut of steak than a flank, like a rib eye of porterhouse and they probably wouldn't have refused it.

I would be much more accepting of my left flank...

      😁
Acceptance depends on the strength and alignment does it not. 🙂
