Hey bro, I live on the west, west end of Windsor, this is upscale compared to the other side of the bridge, over off of Felix, every other house is boarded and meth house. They found a bazooka, multiple guns/drugs on Bernard, there’s a make shift tent city down in that gully/field that ends by the river, oh and let’s not forget the waterpark the crackheads took over on Wyandotte by the casino. Just seen a guy having a dump right on Wyandotte just as a grandma was walking her kids to the school near the food bank lol 😂 I got vids of meth heads tripping out at 7/11 on Ottawa and parent, to junkies flaking out in ally’s down on parent 800-900 block

I was born in Windsor and still live there to this day. I know the city well enough that there are far better looking “hoods” elsewhere in Windsor. This person just explored some of the oldest areas in Windsor, but despite that I wouldn’t say it’s dangerous walking there (even at night). I walked there many times and it’s actually quite peaceful, kind people, etc. I often hear about the city having a high homeless rate, but few to no homeless people live in this neighborhood shown in the video, the vast majority live near a big homeless shelter that used to be a small indoor water park really close to the downtown core. Windsor is not like their Detroit counterpart, y’all should see their neighborhoods.

I got screenshot for the those guys faces and reported to the police in downtown Windsor. And now? They did nothing for me. They are freaking useless af. I do not understand what they do. If you guys just walk in downtown at night, can see homeless everywhere you go. Quite peaceful city? Hell no. Don’t recommend to live this fking city, Windsor.

Windsor is an interesting city, it started falling apart after the Automotive recession in Detroit but it never fell into disarray like Detroit. Most of the workers used to be dual citizens who took the Ambassador bridge every morning. Over the past 5 years a ton of addicts have relocated from different parts to the Windsor-Essex area. It's not bad as shootings/murders but the city is one of the most depressing cities i've been too. The amount of addicts&homeless just openly using is crazy, not to mention its cold, always grey and raining

I grew up on Elliott Street East and it’s definitely changed over the past 30 years or so. I live in downtown Edmonton, here you will see many people pushing shopping carts containing all that they own. This usually includes, a tent, bedding, old bike wheels and various things they picked up along the way. The hood here also has older homes, but many are abandoned or burned. You'll see plenty of tents along the walk ways. In this hood there are resources to help the homeless, places to eat, shower and find free clothing. Another thing we see quite often is people shooting up drugs, lying in the streets, or just standing bend over in one place because of the drugs they have taken.

This section of Windsor may be old & rough around the edges but I quite enjoy it. If I didn't know this was Windsor, I'd swear it was Detroit. [a nice section of Detroit that is] or Hamtramck. The architectural designs of the homes & buildings are really nice. The majority of them obviously lived in, kept up, & not abandoned. The overhead sky is beautiful too. I'd much rather look at these older homes & buildings than the new, boring, horribly designed, cluster homes that are going up all over metro Detroit.

I have lived in Windsor majority of my life. Well up until 3 years ago. Windsor is not actually that bad. Yes, you have crime and drug addiction issues, much like with any cities. But the drug trafficking and gang violence is nowhere near as in other places. Same with homelessness. While some buildings look like they are in dissaray, overall safety wise the city does not fare that badly. Unlike its cross border counterpart. There are far worse cities safety wise, such as for example Thunder Bay, where violence has been on the rise, and especially drug trafficking and drug related shootings. And as someone else said below, these are some of the oldest neighbourhoods in Windsor, and the state of the houses depicts that.

      1. Windsor-Detroit Border: This is often cited as one of the highest-risk areas due to its status as the busiest commercial land crossing in North America.
      2. Niagara Falls Border: Given its high traffic volume and multiple crossing points, it is another critical area for trafficking.
      3. Toronto Pearson International Airport: As the busiest airport in Canada, it serves as a major hub for both international and domestic flights, making it a key concern for trafficking.
      4. Vancouver International Airport: This airport is a significant entry point from Asia and other international locations, posing a substantial risk for trafficking.
      5. Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport: While still a significant concern, it generally sees less trafficking activity compared to the other points listed.

Windsor is a nice city, even though it has some meh looking areas... rough cities in Canada are mostly in the Prairies region in western Canada (Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Lethbridge, Red Deer..) lot of native gang violence, high poverty, drugs, boarded up houses and crimes in certain areas out there. don't get me wrong Canada is a wonderful country but it definitely got a bad side that don't get talked about. Cities like Winnipeg has 4 times the murder rate of London and if it was compared to all of European cities,, it would be one of the worst in that category.

1st I want to say that as someone who has spent her entire 41 years living in Windsor and Essex County, I came to the comments to section to call out OP for claiming "hood". Sure, the areas he drove around in are no Malibu Beach but its no "hood" for sure. I live in that area, in fact he drove by my current house and 2 places I used to live, and we all call this area the hood ourselves BUT not seriously. South Central Windsor (yes, South Central- look on Google Maps lol) is an everyday, average working class neighborhood.
You want to see a "hood", head down to Kensington PA, Baltimore MD, Atlanta GA or even East Hastings Victoria BC- Now those are REAL hoods complete with gangs, open drug use, abandoned buildings, fires, garbage, more liquor stores then grocery stores .... The whole deal., sheeeit!
2nd- Shout out to my fellow Windsorites! Homeboy in the comments tried to talk shit about Windsor. Tryin to say its cold n wet n gloomy and everyone homeless and on dope here, but y'all weren't having that! Pitbulls you are! Defending what is precious-home! Made me feel proud to see that. I love my Windsor fam!!
And dude who claimed Windsor is worst city in Canada for opiod death or at least tied with Thunder Bay.
Well, sorry bud but, NOPE! You are very WRONG! Just google the stats its right there (seems to me like you should do that before you make a claim like that cause obviously someone's just going to look it up and make you look like an idiot, duh) . And you were also wrong when you said "not every city has a problem/epidemic". Dude, yes they absolutly do man, the epidemic is nationwide. That means the entire country, not just Windsor like you claimed. Smh 🤦

We have gun control here and it's safe to walk the streets at night anywhere in Canada."Hoods" are a black American phenomenon. If you want to find a "hood" go over the river to Detroit but don't go after dark because they have no gun control and it's VERY dangerous over there because of that.

Loitering is against the law. Should be enforced. And a police officer may arrest you. Usually, the natural curfew is with sundown. That's the way it works so none get sick with the flue, psoriasis, monkey pox etc. Live streaming is the way to go. Everyone uses that on their phone or at home on the computer. A better idea is to use phones and live streaming for Ateliers for past times, hobbies, skills building coursework that can be done online independently... The cost can range from 10 to 25 to several hundred dollars depending if your using Yellow Brick to learn design, makeup etc.
