Wait, what do I see with my eyes, Rutgers Ranked???
Yea Ray Rice Team They Was Ranked #2 That Season At One Point.
@@PMKru No, they weren't. They got as high as #7 in the traditional polls.
They’re still a dumpster fire in football and shouldn’t be in the big ten
@@josephmanno4514lmao right, what's that fool talking about Rutgers at #2😂 Rutgers jumped to #7 next week after this win but proceeded to waste all their momentum by losing to Cincinnati
Man back in the days when Louisville, West Virginia, the Big East were actually respected
that point straight into the camera by the kicker was cold asf
Talk about Mandela Effect, I could sworn thats how the game ended, the kicker pointing at the camera and the fans swarming the field. I must've completely forget there was 13 seconds left
When Ito points at the camera after making the kick.. it's one of those iconic shots man. Everytime I think of this game; that what I think of. The dude knew he put Rutgers on top of the world that night.
Mannnnn Louisville woulda beat OSU :(
Peak Rutgers
They all say that 2020 has been a wild year but what about this? Rutgers at #15?!
I was here. The atmosphere was amazing. Especially after the win
They rose to #7 as a result of this win.
The atmosphere is great this year too, even though they still suck
@@TB-mj7gt beat sporting event I ever saw live. I've seen the Yankees win the world series...didn't even come close and I'm a lifetime yankee fan. Atmosphere was insane...I remember we rushed the field early and everyone had to run back lol.
2007: Hold my Beer
Rutgers has a great run under Schiano the first go around. Nationally ranked, bowls every year, and sent tons of players to the NFL. Ray Rice, Kenny Britt, Mohamed Sanu, the Mcordy brothers, Logan Ryan, Duron Harmon, and others.
Louisville just can't be ranked in the top 5, can they?
Louisville was good back then and the Big East was weak. Rutgers cost Brian Brohm and Michael Bush a chance to win a national championship against Ohio State because Louisville would have finished undefeated and been the BCS #2 ahead of Florida.
Yea. Hurts my soul. That team was NC caliber. William gay and his offsides
If Rutgers doesn't beat them, this Louisville team probably wins a national title.
@@kingadalou Sorry, TannerLewis, but the team with more heart won.
@@josephmanno4514 obviously. However. I know that if they played again cards would have slaughtered them. But. Shoulda coulda woulda.
As a Louisville fan, this was our one opportunity to play for a championship and we blew it 😓
At least you guys are good in Basketball.
@@brandonblanco8379 yea but had shit ton of wins/ championships taken away. .
Yep. They would have been crushed by Ohio State but as a gator we thank Louisville
@@SonicTheowrong. Louisville had just as much speed as Florida, which Ohio state obviously couldn’t keep up with.
Rutgers took away the Big East's chance to be in a championship game. those damn fighting Itos!!! good for a couple of years just to hurt the conference
Rutgers beating top 5 teams in back to back years
New Jersey sports fans are amazing!
This was back when college football was appreciated by the media, before they basically ended an entire conference and basically made CFB a SEC vs Clemson matchup
Thanks fot uploading one of the best games of the century
I’m #34 on Louisville in the video thumbnail. If we don’t go offsides … we’re the Florida team that goes and destroys Ohio State that year instead of Tebow. I’m still sick about this lol.
Worth it to mention, that tackle on the kick return, couldve been the final play of the game, was made by the rutgers kicker. the kicker who just won the game for them. the amount of mini stories in this story, what a wonderful game.
8:15 kid was super lucky the ball bounced back to him.
kenny britt lol hell yea
Ray rice damn could of been a great back
He was until...
Until the super slap that was seen across the world
What a time to be alive…I LOVED this season 🥲
Yes, I almost cry just feeling the nostalgia thinking about this season. I was like 18,19 and I remember me and my friend actually trying to hurry and get off work and making it home to catch this game, it actually had alot hype that week!
The big east had some decent football years. Better than the current ACC
Ray Rice...
Yeah, he's really slugging it out in the trenches.
lol
@@crewkid52 Trenches, hallways, same difference, lol
Big East had a lil run in the 00's. Rutgers, USF and Louisville were putting in work
Don't forget west virginia
@@nicholasimholte7359 And Pitt.
The '07 WVU team was the best of the bunch.
@@hondaphan4172one of them should have gone undefeated through the regular season. Louisville was the closest to doing so but Rutgers just had to come back that game.
yep. Pitt and Rutgers ruined the Big East's chances at ever competing for a national title
That Thursday night on the banks. Near the 137th anniversary of the first game against Princeton. No other big game on that night.
Don’t think a single person slept a minute in the state of New Jersey that night.
I was at this game
....
I remember watching this game and as a neutral fan I ended up rooting really hard for Rutgers as the game went on. How could you root against Rutgers?!
Rutgers ain't shit now😂. Every team that was good in the bcs era are no longer good in the playoff era
Neither is Louisville.
Rutgers being that good was never going to last. Neither was USF
Ray rice was such a tank
Why does the camera cut away @14:00 the moment before they give Schiano the Gatorade bath? Terrible production!
Just look at rutgers now 😂
The Rutgers kicker actually missed the game-winning FG, but Louisville jumped offsides trying to block it. His retry was good and it was a heart-breaking game for UL fans- we would've played Ohio St for the National Championship in '06..and we would've beaten them!
Craziest game ive ever experienced. I was 11 when i was there, could never forget it
The fact of the matter is WVU would've probably knocked off Louisville if Slaton didn't fumble on back to back possessions due to a bad wrist the previous week.
But you lost to the better team that day. Just accept it.
@@josephmanno4514 When you give the game away with unforced turnovers I don't consider that losing to the better team. I'm also an RU fan due to my brother being a '73 grad and I was sitting low in the upper deck on the 50 yard line for this game. WVU beat RU with their back-up QB in double OT in Morgantown and I was torn who to pull for since an RU win would've landed them in a major bowl and the best WVU could do was play in the Gator Bowl.
@@hondaphan4172 They didn't give the game away. What ridiculous bias. Rutgers' defense ground them down.
And if that game is played on neutral ground or in Piscataway, RU beats WVU.
Ito Swag
To add insult to injury for UL fans, on Rutgers' kicker missed the winning field goal on his first attempt. But Louisville was off sides giving Rutgers a 2nd chance, which of course, he made it the 2nd time.
sighhhhhh the good ol days
That catch, run, fumble and fumble recovery @7:54 was such a crazy play. I remember when watching this game how the momentum was starting to swing Rutgers way and that play could've swung it big time in either direction. Btw, that catch was absolutely amazing. He caught that in stride to gain all sorts of extra yardage.
This game still hurt me till this day😢go!! Cards!!!
Hate that the camera cuts half a second before they douse Schiano lmao
Rutgers being ranked felt so surreal
Crazy part is. The season before, louisville beat the dog shit out of rutgers
Yep. It was embarrassing, like ... hmm ... 56-5 or something.
how in the world was that not an offside at 5:29 lmao
He got back inside before the snap so it wasn’t a penalty. Offside is only able to be called if the player is still on the wrong side when the ball is snapped
rutgers stadium
God i cant believe this was so long ago. I feel old. That was a fun rutgers team. A good tough team.
