It is legit but it takes a while to actually earn points, plus the games available can be boring and aimed towards groups other than mine
This is the first time I’ve seen WIT taking a huge project for a long time. Hope they still keep their selective approach and continue making more anime originals like Vivy
I mean… Spy x Family is pretty big. But I get what you mean
i like a few of their Anime but Vivy might be my favorite. it's not my favorite story they adapted but still the favorite adaptation they did. Vivy was special and i feel like not enough people seen it. but i get that it's not mainstream kind of Anime at all.

Remember what DragonBall Z Kai did for that show? Trimmed the fat, condense the action scenes. Kept the original story.
Essentially what i'm hoping for is a One Piece Kai / Director's Cut.
OP avoided filler by just stretching out the action scenes and having a ridiculously long opening recap. This way we didn't get extra story that wasn't part of the original manga, but made the pacing terrible.
Now that the manga is almost done, they can condense and readjust the pacing of the episodes, fit more in fewer episodes and make it more watchable for modern audiences.
I want baccano live action!

@@siliconhawk just read the manga bro, the one pace skip some good things from the original anime so for me is not good option
Crazy that people still deny that the pacing for One Piece isn't horrible. Like the fact that it's own community made an edited version that cuts out hundreds of useless hours is absolutely INSANE. With that being said One Piece's story is still one of the best.
When you're as popular as Onepiece, who wouldn't wanna milk episodes. Glad it's getting a remake.
It's because as horrible as it is, it's still meant to be watched weekly, which is still its release schedule. People think that animes should be binge watched just because newer animes just produce animes per season. One piece doesn't have the season privilege so they have different pacing compared to normal story animes. It's literally the same problem that Naruto has when it was releasing.
The remake is supposedly gonna do the per season release. That tells you that it will follow the pacing of the manga, which everyone (including the anime watchers) are so hype for.
@@supesulgi Bro watching weekly is what makes the terrible pacing so apparent. Binging it is what makes it bearable. Having to wait a week just to see an episode that is practically one frame of animation is ridiculous.
@@slappytheclown4 it's been a bit better recently but yeah. After the timeskip and up to the raid in wano was pretty rough. Dressrosa especially. I think the pacing is definitely bad but I dont think its unbearable.
If anyone is wondering, the edit is called "one pace" and it's very good.
This will be the perfect way for new One Piece fans from the Live Action to get into the series.
Probably why they doing it even though the series is not finish yet, i also saw someone said that this can be the indication that One Piece is almost finish so they try to grab as many new people into One Piece so they can also enjoy the ending as well, along with the older fans
it would be interesting if Netflix handled the dub with all of the LA actors.
And the longest waiting😂both the live action and the remake are gonna take like 2 years with each season, most are gonna go binge the anime anyway
yes, when it releases in 15 years
I defo enjoyed the live action, if I'm getting into one piece, I will probably be watching the one piece

people saying this is unnecessary are my new fresh delusional people on earth, you have to be coping hard to not see how much the one piece anime doesn't live up to its source's potential
I might actually finally get to watch One Piece and not wonder if this moment is filler or not.
Hopefully Naruto also gets the same treatment(like what they did with the 20th Anni) at some point in the future.
They said they were going to do like 4 episodes of the og naruto (because of the 20th aniversary). Still it hasn't aired yet.
U would still know considering the filler list
@@doge_69pierrot
For Slime it really depends on how they adapt it, iirc the LN goes heavily into the economics side of things for around 2 volumes.
Resource gathering, headhunting, trade deals, all the stuff going on with Diablo in Falmuth, diplomacy, a LOT of switching perspectives (which they completely skipped whole chapters of in the previous seasons), which leads into what we see in the trailer The Runback.
Don't know the overall fan reception of this "arc" but I ate that shit up, I love the moments that lead to fighting in Slime but the slower moments are easily my favorite, and it's after this arc that things start going crazy (in a good way).
It's up to how well the director does at making the non-action parts more palatable for anime-only's that didn't get to see as much of it because of how much was skipped (assuming they don't skip it here too).
I also hope the animation quality doesn't shit the bed like it did in Blue Lock.
Honestly i dont even care if it reaches s2 level quality, I'm so desperate for content
One thing i hope for this remake is for the pacing issues to be fixed
Oh really? I hope it will be better in every way, if the pacing is the only thing for you I recommend looking up One Pace
Of course the pacing is going to be fixed, but the thing that can make or break the series is the music and voice acting
I mean it's impossible for the pacing to be bad at this point. Like why would they even stretch the scenes? The manga is way way way ahead of the newer series lol.
If the remake can't fix it then what is the point of a remake? To have another 1000+ drag-out episodes alongside the ongoing 1100+ drag-out one? like what even is this take
That's the whole point
Might be a silly question and maybe I missed it but will the original voice actors be involved? Hoping they’ll be re-acting their roles.
Currently, only Luffy's VA is confirmed. They are yet to confirm other details as well.
its hard becaus ethe og voice is really old. i think a new voiceactor group take this one
@@erwindavid2859 where has it been confirmed?
@@maiz_kolbe5030 They used Luffy current VA in the trailer, that part of the trailer so I doubt they would use a different VA in the actual anime
@ManuelGarcia-ui3dq you may be right. But this anime is years ahead of us, and a lot can change in said time. Just cuz her voice is in the announcement doesn't mean she'll be the voice of Luffy, as there IS no other Luffy. Only time will tell though and I may be wrong lol
Can confirm that I've been waiting for a One Piece remake
Nevermind I gave up a month after this comment and read all the wiki and read enough fanfics to get everything. So Im like 70% fluent.
As someone who hasn't interacted with One Piece in a long time (only watched the beginning as a kid), the new anime might just be my re-introduction to the series, who knows?
Will take a long time
So great to see studio WIT is the one animating this
Now the new generation can look forward something from young age until grandpa. The One Piece is real! xD
Reze arc hype! Wonder where Chaisaw Man's art will go with the new Director
That ending, is that Renji's Zanpakuto? 🤣🤣
I feel like the only people complaining about this are the people who are 1000 episodes in and they want everyone else to watch it how they watched it, like with RuneScape how elites don't want new easier training methods to be added since they spent 500 hours grinding exp so they don't wanna see new fans having an easier better time with it than they did since they had to spend hundreds of hours watching it.
I have not watched one piece due to it's sheer size, it's total runtime is the combined runtime of my top 1-40 anime. Even if one piece gets really good later down the line it's a question of would I rather watch 30-40 whole other shows or just the one, and the answer is always the 30 because then I get waaay more genres and experiences.
Plus everyone I've spoken to who's seen one piece all agree it takes dozens if not 100+ episodes to get to its first really good arc, coming fresh from attack on titan which I was really gripped by from the get go and that entire show doesn't even have 100 episodes, I'm not watching basically all of the runtime of attack on titan but meh just to get to the good bit haha. Hell just look at any filler guide, it has more filler episodes than even my longer anime do actual episodes haha.
I am more than pleased it's basically getting a brotherhood with better graphics, much fewer episodes and by one of my favourite anime studios, I can actually just watch it like a normal anime haha. I watch on average 1-2 episodes of anime every day or two before I go bed, if I watched the current one piece it would take me like 2-3 years to finish, and I wouldn't watch a single other show in the meantime, absolutely not haha.
My wife and I are stoked to finally dive into One Piece with this one. Several years ago I already tried to catch up with the original anime, but I stopped at around episode 250, because... well life happens and catching up on 1000 episodes is a big task.
When the life action adaptation came out we binged it and loved it. I felt it was a bit short and some characters and interactions were missing, so hearing this is the best news to me, because I want to get up to date with One Piece and the remake seems to be the best solution to this.
This was badass news, but I don't have faith that Wit would continue this super long term. At some point they'll probably hand it off to Mappa like they did AOT and Vinland Saga.
@@patrick6361 Hopefully.
wit dropped AOT because the executives of AOT were rushing wit to finish AOT Season 4 early and wit decided to drop them so hopefully the same won't happen to one piece
To answer the chainsaw man arc quality question. Yes, this arc is a banger. The problem Chainsaw man has is each arc just grows and pushes its themes until the end of part 1. This one in particular though is probably my favorite in the series
I really hope that they keep the style of season 1 of chainsaw man. It's very fitting
For non action parts it's going to be the same since the character designer is Kazutaka Sugiyama again. For action scenes it's gonna be chaos since it's gonna be directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and Rikki Matsura.
i hope its in the quality of like the ep 8 ed tho, same style but hella dynamic lighting and angles
Nah calling it "The One Piece" is a genius chess move. You don't say "One Piece" you say "OP" so now people will say "Are you watching TOP?" "Are you watching the TOP anime?"
If this is good, I see it as a golden opportunity to gain new one piece fans. What is the number one thing keeping new people from watching One Piece? The massive wall that is it's episode count. Now we can be like "Hay look it's a brand new anime, you should try it!" and watch as they slowly decent season after season, year after year. Watch as they become one of us!
it sounds evil and I love it
Too slow tho
I think some of the slow burn pacing in the early original series was great, but the pacing in the later arcs like whole cake and wano has really been a slog. I think a remake is justified to clean up the pacing and unify the animation style across the whole thing.
I hope that they don't speed through the early parts, I feel like the chill build up as it was in the manga is what makes the later moments shine. So I hope they cut the filler, but keep the full manga story.
Its not unecessary IF, and the big IF, they fix the pacing of One Piece as mentioned.
I’ve been watching One Pace with my gf, they didn’t finish Alabasta arc so I’ll be waiting for this remake to get to Alabasta.. in 2025 🙃
I'm still stuck in the skypiea arc for years. If the remake is similar to Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood then we NEED a remake.

I just caught up with One Piece this year, and yeah, I very much would like the anime much much more if it didn't take 200 episodes to get through a single plot. There's just way too much fluff. I'm very interested on this remake.
I'm actually very excited for the remake. To me, One Piece an amazing manga, deserving it's spot. The anime on the other hand is a solid 7/10 at best if you're a big fan but your average viewer would most likely rate it 6 or lower. Hopefully, with this remake, they will fix the big issues of One Piece anime.
OP is rated almost 9 on IMDB and 8.71 on myanimelist despite the pacing

The live action was already good! This surprised me!
I had stopped watching One Piece around 990 because the pacing was just so damn awful, but I decided to catch up on everything in time for Christmas, so I watched it all in about a week and a half. I almost gave up again, with all of the repeated flashbacks and padding, but I made it through. If they want to make a series that cuts out the majority of the shitty pacing, I'm all for it. Just wondering what they'll do for the voice actors.

wow! i cant believe how fast they started working on an animation adaptation after the live actions success! I hope they dont mess up some of the most important parts in the live action when they start animating this adaptation. exciting!
are you ready for gol d. rodger to say "the The One Piece is real"
Whitebeard is the one who says it in the series
YOOOO NO WAY THEY DROPPED TWO PIECE?!?
Me crying in Berserk... Seriously, I know people are happy, but there are series that need it more and it's quite sad that they may not get such a chance.
If any anime needed a remake, it's One Piece.
The pacing is just horrendous, the shortcuts taken in each episode to drag out runtime, the extended intros/recaps/EDs/looped animations/panning shots/reaction still frames, etc. etc. etc. make the show extremely difficult to rewatch.
Can't wait for "One Piece Kai" to hopefully fix that.
Only hope from me! It might still be airing, but it is old sf and done in the way the old ones were!
This will be the right way to consume it, I will finally consume it
I want to be excited but with the ai stuff the official account posted, i am very very worried about the one piece news instead.
After that AI song, it better not be an AI mess is all im asking
Better not get your hopes up then, bc if this doesn't have AI in it I will be really surprised 💀
Hope they don't go down the path of all the flashy effects. Like the Haki auras they do now are ridiculous to me, just dragon ball rip offs. I don't need the screen filled with explosions and lights with the ground breaking into cubes with every step to know the hits are hard, when Luffy domed Bellemy i felt it, when he broke the hall with Luccis face i felt it, when he planted that bitch of a celestial into the walls of the building you better believe i felt it. But with all the auras and lighting effects it all seems so floating and less solid, it's so far outside my frame of reference that i can't feel the impacts anymore.
Also there should definitely not be any damn beam struggles in this show for some reason. Makes no sense.
The beam struggles are filler so they won’t be in the show.
If the op remake fixes the pacing issues it could be the greatest anime of all time
Chained Soldier needs to be DXD "quality" ;)
All I've wanted for so long was One Piece remade in a seasonal format with actual quality animation, it's like a dream come true. OP is one of the best shounens ever made and I can't wait to see arcs like Enies Lobby and The Paramount War with top notch fight animation.
I’d love to watch the first 300 or so episodes of One Piece with better animation and less filler and honestly it’s brilliant, One Piece is a infinite money pit since its so popular so this is going to last a long time and might make One Piece Godly.
So, you enjoy One Piece, which format: One Piece manga, One Piece anime, One Piece live action, The One Piece anime (all being aired/released simultaneously)? If not those, movies, games, novels? Prequel? UA-cam satire?
We're truly spoilt for choice.
yo i have to say this thank you ! i saw the chrismas trash taste ep and u recommended Ichinose-ke no Taizai and this has been a fucking rollercoaster. Peak fiction
this is truly one of the mangas of all time
To give a perspective on how bad the one piece anime pacing actually is, take jojos bizarre adventure, in its entirety jojos is about 957 chapters, and consists of about 25,000 pages, one piece is 1103 chapters (as of writing) and has about 23,000 pages. Approximately two thirds of jojos bizarre adventure has been adapted, and that totals to 190 episodes, in comparison 2/3rds of one piece is 726 episodes (as of writing).
I don’t think it’s unnecessary at all. I can’t even recommend the anime to anyone - I can only say “better to read the manga”.
Naruto deserves a remake way more. I'd happily rewatch one piece because pacing issues are mainly after the timeskip anyways. Naruto in its entirety has way too many flashbacks, ungodly amounts of filler, and truly awful pacing in constant panoramic shots and hanging on to frames for too long.
I’m not saying a one piece remake is a bad idea. But I only think it feels unnecessary due to the original anime still being on air, Netflix licensing it, and that it’s done by a whole different studio. Also some of the early arcs have been remade before
Original One Piece was too slow, Live Action One Piece was too fast.
I hope they find a good balance in the remake.
Hyped on the Remake since I never watch the original show.
I really hope the one piece remake will keep live action sanji's personality, pervy sanji gets very annoying very fast and the suave sanji was such a nice change of pace
And on top of everything else One Piece, Oda is cooking that gourmet shit right now in the manga
I guess it makes sense considering how popular one piece is in Japan. They’d want a new anime for people to get into rather than just the manga
I tried starting one piece from the beginning past year and couldn't go past chapter 10, non-one-piece fans are eating good
He didnt even mention eminence in shadow lost echoes, what a disgrace to the anime community
LOL or people could just watch the "One Pace" version were all the filler is skimmed out.
Why the one piece fans ,
why not The Naruto,The JJK ,The MFks
This might fr be a reason why I may start watching OP
Hopefully they quit the 10 minute recap bullshit.
I can't wait for that one guy who will say "Kuro is so slow, I'm falling asleep over here, Gear 5 Luffy would vaporise him" like no s*it
I mean when do they stop? First arc? Second? At some point the animation in one piece is good enough that a remake wouldn’t make much sense but on the other hand people will get mad they stop halfway through
So the main problem of One Piece is the pacing, not the visual component, the terrible pacing spoils the viewing experience.
As someone who just can’t get into the anime, doesn’t have the free time for it, and really wants to appreciate it, I’m extremely hyped for the remake. I’ve been saying for literal years that I want this to happen
Read it
If I am on drum island, should I just wait to watch the remake at this point?
I would say either go to the manga or wait.
I hope that this will fix the weird child-friendly tone of early One Piece for the US. In the US, the first arcs of One Piece were aimed at a younger audience, probably 7-10 year olds. Even though one of the primary characters was a swordsman, there was no blood and nobody, including Nami's Mother, ever died. Although I was already an adult when I first saw it, the strange tone of sword fights with no blood really hurt my brain.
Some incongruous parts remained, though, like killing Marines being completely fine in canon, despite having been shown from the beginning that Cody and some other Marines were good people.
You know the 4Kids version isn't the actual version, right?
@@Sharkofspace Yes, I have seem both. Even the more recent version retains a fairly "kid' friendly setup, although Nami's mom does die in it. Still, virtually no blood.though, which seems weird for people being sliced with swords.
I have not read the manga, but the anime seems to slowly change to aim at an older audience as it goes on.
@@jfess1911 A show not being super gory doesn't automatically mean it was censored.
@@Sharkofspace Although it was indeed censored in the US, the point is that the tone changed over time. At the time Once Piece arrived in the US (2004), the most profitable Japanese animated series were Pokemon and Digimon, so it was aimed at a similar audience. Even the Japanese version seemed aimed at a younger audience. however. I don't know precisely why Oda started "aging up" the series, but he did.
If you are a long-time One Piece fan, going back to the first couple arcs can be a bit jarring. I suspect that the vast majority of people were fairly young when they started the series, so it didn't seem strange. But even among serious fans, there is disagreement whether Zoro had killed virtually all his opponents from the beginning. The first indication is when Arlong mentions that his men had been killed. Prior to that, it had been unclear.
I actually stopped watching One Piece after the first couple af arcs because I got bored with it. I was well over 30 at the time. A decade or so later, I started again because it became more interesting.
@@Sharkofspace They also changed how Zeff lost his leg in the anime. In the original manga he ate it while trapped on the island. In the anime he lost it in a shipwreck.
They also cut out Luffy stabbing himself in the face to get his scar.
Early One Piece was absolutely censored, even in Japan.
I feel like this is great for all the people who are on the boat of "its too long" or "the animation" to be able to finally start at the beginning of the show, watch weekly or in whatever stints they are going to release eps in and grow to love the show with the rest of us, while not having to no life it like the rest of the late starters just to catch up. However, what point are they reanimating to? because redoing the Wano arc feels like it might be a waste of time seeing as a lot of that is already "new age" animation. Also what scenes will they be cutting out of the anime? For example are they going to be keeping G8? Yes that's a filler arc but it is one of the best written filler arcs in all of anime (in my opinion) and that craftsmanship and dedication to the original work should be highlighted for future anime that need filler so they can see how it is supposed to be done.
However while I do have some other reservations and "gripes" with it, the big thing is that I feel bad for everyone who picked it up in the last year or so, especially after the live action was so big, because they just dedicated so much time into watching how many episodes of the older style animation just to be told that there is a remake coming. While I feel the nostalgia of older style animation and think that there should be some "hints" or call backs too the og animators and their styles and choices, it feels bad knowing how much that the og episodes will just fall into obscurity with the new ones out (kinda like the og hxh and full metal, although honestly I'm just as guilty when it comes to those shows).
By the time it'll be avg animation

Nah still
One Piece Brotherhood
Pacing was the biggest issue with one piece, i just hope they can speed up the stories in some certain *cough cough sky.p.ie.a* arcs.
Lol, the fucking cloud arc thing is where I stopped watching One Piece back when I was watching it enthusiastically as a teenager. It was that bad. What's amazing about the live action (which I just saw) and hopefully this coming remake is that it's One Piece, which is amazing, but also respects your time and doesn't try to drown you in tediously slow progressing bullshit. Exactly what One Piece needs on the non-manga front.
Honestly, the skypiea arc has like 50% of the content being useless mostly, and they could add the gear 5th foreshadowing later in other arcs, skypiea is important but we can just move the foreshadowing into later arcs like fishmen island if even the live action makes it that far or the remake is going to be successful
By the time Wit catches up to the latest episode as of me writting this, the original One Piece anime might be already over.
The manga is running it's last lap, so maybe 1-2 years left. And the anime I'd say ads one more year.
So it's a well strategized plan to start the production of the remake now, or 7 months ago. lol xD
I tried to get into the Anime. I made it like 60 episodes. I am glad an Anime remake is happening but you know what? I am fully caught up with The Legend of Heroes: Trails series and I only have room for one massive worldbuilding intellectual property in my life right now so I am going to stick with my niche Trails as my beloved darling series. All the respect to One Piece I can tell it’s on a similar level.
Cheers. I hope you can one day include the other 🎉
Tf is that logic
I'm excited about the One Piece anime but also Dorohedoro s2, netflix
But: Should they still include G8? Filler, but not only great but also really good character building and foreshadowing with the Going Merry storyline.
Also, three other really good anime that never got a season 2: One Outs, Tegami Bachi, Spice and Wolf. The latter 2 are maybe more subjectively than objectively great, I really enjoyed the tone and vibes. But One Outs is legitimately a great story.
The final fight with Reze is gonna blow mappa's budget that's all i'm gonna say
One Piece anime without shitty filler and slow pacing?!?!?!? THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!!
I mostly don't have much faith in Netflix to continue it beyond maybe four seasons. They aren't known for long term commitments. Even condensed, I couldn't see the same story being told in less than like 400 episodes. Plus however long the actual series continues for. Also curious about the Japanese voice actors. It would be weird hearing different Japanese voices, but I can't imagine the same actors doing double duty. But those original voices are all iconic after 20+ years.
