I keep watching videos about how to stop biting and scratching and I swear I only get the same answer. But the thing is, I never play with him with my hands, I've never liked playing with animals like that, so now I have an overly aggressive kitty, the same answer of all vets saying he's perfectly fine and a sea of toys
My cat bites me while purring. She'll be sitting my belly and just attacks me. She bites me till I bleed every time. There is reason for her to this and while sitting me purring. I really hate the fact she'll have to leave my house but people shouldn't be forced to deal with bad animals.

I have the same problem. My SO and his dtr have seen him bite me, totally unprovoked (I’m just sitting there, not even touching the cat). He doesn’t bite either of them, btw.
How to make a difference between petting a cat and playing with a cat using the hands? I mean that while I am petting a cat the cat won't think it should scratch or bite my hand, otherwise I would use a toy that the cat can scratch and bite freely without hurting me.
My cat only gets aggressive about 20 minutes after wet food. I can watch his eyes changing from friendly and relaxed to glazed over and hostile,to dilated pupils and pouncing posture and wild scratching of furniture,me and even his tail! Hes 6,a rescue cat and castrated. I dont have any other pets. He gulps his food down,uses his tray properly and seems to get overstimulated by play. I am at home all day so he isnt left bored.

Otherwise he is a pretty discipline cat and we actually took him from a couple who had like seven cats and one of them gave birth to 2 kittens so we took one of them . I think the reason why he is friendly is because he was raised by kinda human beings and had the company of his mom unlike cats in the pet stores who are snatched away from their family . We take our cat to their house every once a month so it can meet its family and stay in touch.

They required feeding every 4 hours but it was worth it and watching them grow was such a joy. Most people told me that bottle fed babies become aggressive and scratchy but I never experienced this probably because they had each other and also because I very rarely used my hands when I played with them. All three are very docile and affectionate and love to be cuddled and pampered. The mess they make is irritating but that's because they are flat cats…Anyway this video is correct I know it's hard but try to avoid using hands when playing with kittens as it only encourages their hunting instinct [which isn't a bad thing] but can become troublesome when they are older. As the video suggests use toys attached to stretchy string or otherwise……….Just not your hands LOL!!!

We recently adopted a stray cat. He had a collar but no one has claimed him. One day he came to our home with an injured paw so i built him a makeshift home and fed him tl he gog better. Since he was very social and loved my dogs i figured we could keep him. Lately he's been opening up more and been a lot more playful but since I never owned a cat I cant read his body language as well as i do with my dogs. He's started peeing in iur living room which I be placing a litter box in that room hoping it will solve the problem. He now chaces my dogs when they play fight and he did it once to me when walking away. I want to assume he's bwing playful but i dont know. The biting is rhe biggest issue now. Sometimes he can bite pretty hard.
If he pees in the couch, prob what he tries is that he wants to mingle his scent with yours, or that the cat is insecure. Dont use your hand to play with your cat in case you get bitten. If u want to pet, put your finger or whole hand near his nose, and let him guide where he wants to be petted. Pet a little or moderate amounts, depending on the cat, but dont pet too much or too fast in case he doesnt like it. And dont anywhere else in case he bites you. If he might bite for you putting ur hand near to nose, then stop. As said in video, use toys to play with him more so you will less likely get bitten
I know this is old but for the peeing. It maybe due to stress. Pee/Spraying is used to mark territory where he might not feel comfortable so they spray. Try buying Felaway spray or plug in. its a bit pricey but it helps calm cats, its safe for both pets and humans. If he attacks you (play) while you walk, you should always have toys in your pocket. You can buy a bunch of dollar stuff cat toys and jingle balls at walmart or something. When you walk by and he comes at you, just stop and tossa toy to him. This is how you redirect his predatory play times. rule of thumb on biting. Don't tolerate it. If he bits, stop, yell and slowly press hard into him for him to stop. Then walk away and ignore him. This will let him know that its unwanted behavior. Afterwards come back with a toy and let him play with it then reward him with petting and treats. This will teach him that biting and wrestling with toys is acceptable.

Actually what I do is bite back you like how the cat would be when it would be with it’s siblings they are animals so play fight another I do is show the cat who’s boss so I pin her and her neck until she calms down (obviously not to strangle just hard enough so she knows I’m in charge) then I put her a calm room alone for 30 mins

Dont think it is you who pet him, but him to guide you where he wants to be petted. What you do is you put your finger near his nose, let him smell your finger and he will show you where to pet him, either his cheek, his chin, his head etc. And dont pet too much or too fast.

I think with this, and that you create a bond with him for a long period of time, he might trust you, and you tap a high place so he can jump up. do that again and again till you can carry him without biting This is my opinion. be careful that your cat doesn't eat string, thread or tinsel etc. it will cut through their intestines and kill them

i have used hormone collars and that stopped that peeing thing. you can order them on the internet like from companies like pet mountain and others

How do I stop my cat from jumping on all the time, especially when I am doing homework?
play with the cat just before you sit down. He'll be too knocked out to bother you. lil late but that's what I do. Also Turkey cat treats.
Give to shelter, get a dog.
They see that you're paying more attention to your homework and that makes them lay down on it so they can have attention

B. S. cats are naturally agressive. They don't care what you say, you are going to get bitten and scratched.
