Rushing is another form of going nowhere. I remember reading that in a small mindfulness book called 30 Days to Stop Giving a Shit by Corin Devaso. It was a wake up call for me; I was burning out, not being disciplined, because my mind was going all over the place trying to get stuff done without any assigned meaning or purpose. I had deeper things going on. Slowing down and focusing was the solution...I allowed my self to take on one thing at a time slowly, and doing it right, and then I started to build flow and momentum. I believe discipline starts with slowing way down, even stopping, and writing out what is the meaning and purpose of this task, life, job, goal, mission, etc. Once that meaning is found and believed in...you're unstoppable.

Love the message except the personal trainer part. Maybe the average person "needs" a trainer to be discipline but not all. For myself I have been working out since my early 20's, I'm a 47 yr old female. I still go to the gym 5 -6 times a week for 2+ hours. I have a trainer because I want to learn more & believe one can always learn and as an introvert I really love the deeper conversations. My dad was in the military and I learned at a young age to be independent, get up early, always make my bed etc. So I think that statement isn't accurate. A personal trainer is a luxury not a need for myself.
This is super random and might sound “woe is me” but is there anyone here that was at a similar point in their life to what I’m about to describe - friendless, starting life over at less than 0 (mountain of debt, no career, no idea wtf I want to do) I just started the biggest part of giving myself a fighting chance, got clean from drugs. Now I’m just struggling to find any direction. I have built some horrendous neurological pathways of thinking of all the ways any of my ideas are impossible. If anyone reading this lived through something similar, what steps did you take to rebuild your life?
Daily habits, start with reading the Bible, life is purposely without Christ, find a reformed church. Then build you’re body, and read to build your mind. Listen to huberman lab and stop doing anything that spikes your dopamine system
I was in somewhat of a similar situation but not as bad. So I don’t want to compare. But I’ve been through some hellacious shit. I can tell you this: focus on improving your life 1% every day. It’s small enough that you can do. And every few months you will be amazed at what you can accomplish. The mistake we make is thinking that we can do ALL THE THINGS, now. Humans rarely change that much, that fast. You won’t have everything figured out at once, and that’s ok. Focus on your diet, and physical fitness. Read and listen to good content by people smarter than you, every day. If you have some baggage from the past, deal with that and get your behavior in a good place. Create a budget and a plan for your financial future (I recommend listening to Dave Ramsey). Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) is a great example of a good common sense man who talks a lot about work… from what you wrote, I think you’d find it interesting. We don’t always have to find this amazing, 7 figure income that is “our passion”. Good, honest work is where it’s at. I promise you, whatever you do, if you give it 110%, people will notice and opportunities will open up. Just working hard and having a good attitude will get you very far. Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Don’t focus on your mistakes. Focus on what you have now, today. Today is day 1. Ground zero. Wrap your mind around the fact that it won’t be easy, and it won’t be fast, but nothing in life worth a damn is either of those things. Your path will unfold as you move forward. You’ll be amazed at how life unfolds and your mind expands once you start. Just KEEP MOVING. You do have to have dreams and goals, but you’ll figure those out soon enough. Best of luck.
Hey fellas, to whoever may read this on Jocko's team are you guys planning on finishing up that "civil war excursion" series you guys started a little while back? That was awesome and definitely should be concluded.
You should write a book about discipline for retirees. My Grandma needs to get her lazy 84 year old ass out of bed and start working out and start achieving her goals.
But what is discipline? I get what exercise is, you go lift heavy stuff of off the ground and put it down again and repeat, or you go out and run more than you did yesterday. But in that regard if I needed to explain to someone what discipline is how would I do that. What is discipline?
Nope, both ChatGPT and Bard refused to come up with more than 100 excuses and most of them were lame too. Guess the human mind is still unparalled in making up excuses. 😂😂😂

Go one day at a time. Focus on your goals. Get good sleep. Worry about yourself. Never give up
My War!!!!
Hey fellas, to whoever may read this on Jocko's team are you guys planning on finishing up that "civil war excursion" series you guys started a little while back? That was awesome and definitely should be concluded.
Rollins FTW!
If Jocko played EU4 the only country he'd ever play is Prussia.
You should write a book about discipline for retirees. My Grandma needs to get her lazy 84 year old ass out of bed and start working out and start achieving her goals.
🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼
I bought a jocko i been buying your products for maybe 3 months and a 100% .I think if you turn and acknowledge christ you would be amazing so .
A new religion is born
Rad that Henry was your hero
Jocko christ is the general/ savior. This live is short and God's son is eternal. Jocko christ is the answer.
Discipline. That it.
The whole reason of Jocko is Henri Rollins
But what is discipline? I get what exercise is, you go lift heavy stuff of off the ground and put it down again and repeat, or you go out and run more than you did yesterday. But in that regard if I needed to explain to someone what discipline is how would I do that. What is discipline?
I need a new car!
the thumbnail on this vid...
Nope, both ChatGPT and Bard refused to come up with more than 100 excuses and most of them were lame too. Guess the human mind is still unparalled in making up excuses. 😂😂😂
My skills are good but they aren’t on a professional level
This dudes thumbnails are always so overdramatic, relax we get it lol
Elon Musk is fat... But he somehow launches himself into Space 4:00
✨🤡✨
So this was basically a repetition on your "discipline equals freedom" video
NOW
Jocko ,christ is the answer
