Tasmania 29 Apollo Bay to Port Campbell

Part 29 of 33 of a road trip from Brisbane to Tasmania, returning via Victoria's Great Ocean Road, Central Victoria, Great Alpine Road and Canberra.
Our first activity of the day was a call to see the lighthouse at Cape Otway. This visit involved a short drive form the Great Ocean Road to the lighthouse gates. A walk is involved in a visit to the lighthouse, for which we didn't have time.
The road then swings inland to Lavers Hill, returning to near the coast but the spectacular scenery does not occur until later in the day. We started on the sandstone costal strip but then jumped ahead to have lunch in Port Campbell.
We did the main sights in reverse order starting back at Loch Ard Gorge and finishing at the Twelve Apostles, but for continuity these locations are included on the basis of our direction of tour, East to West.
This area was teaming with other tourists. The substantial development since we were last there added considerably to the tourist experience. We spent the night at Port Campbell so had adequate time to see most of what there was to see.
