Agreed!
I recently learnt ような in my text book. 😅
先生、この動画はすごく良かった。ありがとうございます!
あとに、いつか 「のは〜」の使い方が教えてくれますか?
2つの助詞が現れるときは、間違えるチャンスは多分50%以上だと思う。前の 「のに〜」の説明はすごーくかんたんだって、役に立てった、ありがとう。
Perfect timing on the video! I was actually just wondering this earlier today!
Oh my god, same! I was analyzing a song's lyrics and stumbled upon the use of "mitai" in it and went to do a little study on it. Impeccable timing!
Same
This is probably the lesson that i was looking for the most since i started learning japanese since i tend to use kinda and "x looks like y" so much when i speak casually. So clear, thank you Miku
Finally i can understand the meaning of the first lyrics of yoasobi 夜に駆ける
Thank you
Thank you for your video! It was really helpful!

This lesson is so useful!!!! Thanks for this:)
Very useful
I always wondered how to use みたいな感じ。Excited for the next video!
in sentence : お兄さんはお父さん見たいに背が高い。Why put に after 見たい? 背 is a noun. i don't understand. 助けてください。
because みたい isn't describing 背 its describing 高い
simply one of the best channels i have come across,
どうもありがとう
Thank you so much for saying that :D
ありがとございますみく先生。
こちらこそ、見てくれてありがとう!
ありがとうございます。Your videos are great as always!😀👍
Thank you so much! I'm very glad you like them!
ミク先生ありがとうございます!
I didn't even notice the mistakes.. this was a good lesson thank you!!
Hi miku sensei💕 i love how you teach, it is very easy to understand! I would like to ask for better translation and expalanation on How can you say “i wish....(for something)” or “i hope...(for something)” in native japanese?
ありがとうございます😊
love your videos
Thank you ! You’ve just explained the title of the song baka mitai!!
あああああ!みく先生のチャンネルはめっちゃめっちゃ有用だ!これらのビデオは私をたくさんたすけています!
みく先生、 ありがとうございました!😭
Does that word really mean Ghost?
3.27 Do you mean "You look JUST like your mom." ?
6:15 人はケンみたい
10:30
このアパートはホテルみたいにきれい。
Is mitai acting like a adverb in this example sentence you made rather than a suffix or adjective?
What if I changed it this way what does it become?
Why did you use な at places like 5:48 & 6:20, but not at places like 11:04 & 11:19?
Are those not seen as nouns there?
Also ありがとう for all your amazing videos! I think of your videos every time someone compliments my Japanese.
よろ!
この動画ありがとうございます❤
Thanks for the nice video!
One question though: In the sentence "My older brother is tall like my father." the 背 is a noun, isn't it? So why is it not みたい+な instead? The 高い may be the corresponding adjective, but it does not follow up right after. This leaves me confused.
I think it’s because you’re just describing the height of the brother. That’s why it’s お父さんみたいに。Delete that and you’ll still get お兄さんは背が高い, which is still good.
If you replace the に to な as in お兄さんはお父さんみたいな背が高い。For me, it sounds like the brother looks like the tall height of the father. Which doesn’t make sense.
@@moggy1989 exactly your right she use adjective so it's に
I think its because se ga takai is a construction and passes for an andjective. se ga takai means "tall". So in this case its an adjectiv and doesnt need "na". Hope it helps!
thanks for the answers

Great video ❤️ どもありがとうございましたミク先生! But I need a video that explains all the differences between そうです、見たい、よう、らしい... Because I thought よう and みたい were used totally different and that they didn't mean the same 🥺 help please
❤❤❤❤❤
Sensei, can we use adjectives before みたい like かわいいみたい? Because かわいそう is not correct if we want to use" you looks cute"
すごいです。先生に「もう、まだ」についてのビデオを作ってくれない?
ミク先生いつもありがとうございます。I have a question in the last example why is it 「....東京みたいに人が多い」 and not 「....東京みたいな人が多い」 if 人 it's a noun? 😅 That's the only question I got.
Question!?
you said if mitai is followed by a noun you should put na before the noun. but what about the below sentence you mentioned.
london wa tokyo [mitai ni hito ga ooi]
should you say [mitai na hito ga ooi]
miku-sensei itsumo oshietekurete arigatougozaimasu.
ひとがおおい is one phrase and it’s considered to be an adjective! So みたい is modifying おおい, not ひと。
If you say ロンドンみたいなひとがおおい。it means there are a lot of people like London. You’re saying people like London. But the focus on this sentence is that “London has got a lot of people” like Tokyo. So that’s why it’s みたいに。
@@mikurealjapanese so basically it is like an i-adjective set phrase similar to
[se ga takai].
wakarimashita. doumo arigatougozaimashita.
みく先生の教え方はやばいね!!!
🎶Baka mitai Kodomo nanone 🎶😂
Also what about らしい, didn't it mean something similar as well?
Let's hope 三久先生 responds, but らしい is more akin to ~そう for instance, ヤバそう (looks dangerous), I think.
らしい is more about a property of something or behavior. for example 男らしい is "manly", but 男みたい is "like a man".
she made a video about this, just browse her channel
Hey sensei, little confused, when you used みたい on the 東京はロンドンみたいに人が多い, the 人 is a noun, so why is it みたいに? then on the 薬みたいな味がする.. the 味 is a noun yet みたいに is used on the first sentence. Kindlt explain. Thank you so much :)
ミク先生ありがとうございます

Can you please make a video on kanji

Thank you for the lesson! I always thought that みたい operated like a い-adjective... Ooops!
「 相手に何歳かと聞かれたら、いつも間違えちゃう 。だから、僕は23歳だけど、23歳以下の男性みたい。」 この文書では「みたい」の使い方はどう? 正しいか正しくないか。教えてくれたら、ありがとな!

質問があります:
「みたい」 at first glance, looks identical to 「見たい」
Is there any clue that will help me quickly recognize that this is something else while listening?

こんにちはみくさん。このじゅぎょうはさいこうでしたけどしつもんがあります。すみませんまだしょしんしゃだから I need to switch to English to ask my question. I’ve never heard the verb to wake up, said as おきする I’ve only heard おきる, even when I searched it I had a hard time finding anything. I was curious why. ありがとう
Hi, Miku-sensei!
When you say おばけみたい without looking the sentence, how do you differentiate it from being “you look like a ghost” to “I want to see a ghost” since 見たい means “I want to see”?
I guess context can be helpful most of the time and when reading you can recognize it because of the kanji
@@peanutbuttersquid6124 That was I was thinking too actually! Lol.
Maybe the を particle can be a hint for 'I want to see a ghost', like:
お化けを見たい
But I'm not sure if this is how people would say this. If I recall correctly, みくさん told us on another video that the を particle tends to be omitted when speaking casually, so there probably wouldn't be a way to tell them apart.
With みたい the pitch is high and then drops. 見たい starts out low and then goes up
I think you're overthinking it, I mean how often are you going to say "I want to see a ghost" in real life? Sure you can try to listen for pitch or something but It should pretty much always be clear from the context whats actually meant

At first on this video mitai na noun
Your example is
Kusuri mitai na aji
Then why this example?
London wa tokyo mitai ni hito ga ooi.
Hito is noun? Or because of the adjective please explain me further. Thank you😘.

Can you do a short video on this “かんじ” phrase, i hear it a lot but it doesn’t translate well and is confusing
And maybe also this 身
I see it a lot but don’t understand
I've also heard of 「みたく」、how do you use that?(assuming that people do use it)
Could yu make a video about らしい and its usage completely please?
よくわかりませんが、場合によってみたいなは的なに入れ替えることもできるんですよね?
is there a video explaining the がする grammar structure?
わかりません!。!
maybe i should add Mitai to most of my speaking patterns lol
I remember saying something like「うどんって感じです」 but they understood what i meant anyways
-みたい suffix
And what about 'its like killing someone' (sorry I'm so morbid but this is the best thing I could come up with). Can you just say 'dareka o korosu mitai na mono da yo', since verbs before nouns usually just chill there? (tabeta ringo = the apple I ate, for example)
みくはさいこう!
-みたいな
ne mika senpai
mitai chotto rikaishimasu desukedo rashii wa douka?
whats the difference with 「っぽい」?
i hear this alot when i talk to japanese people lol
I think maybe the difference is that みたい is used when things are different but similar, and っぽい is used when something is a certain way.
I saw っぽい get used like this:
日本人: アメリカ人ですか?
アメリカ人: はい!そうです
日本人: ああ、 アメリカっぽい!
Hope this helps! I'm not entirely certain but I've noticed this.
It's to describe something as having certain characteristics like that of something else.
If ぶたみたい is "Looks like a pig" then ぶたっぽい is "Pig-like"
@@vf-tst ohhh thank you that makes a lot more sense!
