Thanks, I no longer use Arturia software because I’m blind, and their UIs are not accessible to me for detailed editing. All the synth sounds are my custom patches. I used OB-Xd to simulate OB-8 and other synthesizers that were used originally. I did post a tutorial or two on my Facebook page, but this was a while ago. I don’t think it’s possible for the viewer to sit through hours of synthesizer programming sessions because that’s how long it takes me to make these sounds and to put the right effects on. So I’m still thinking of a more compact way of illustrating these. :p
I get it. Anyway you make really cool videos. I was always curious how KLF made that vocal wow-wow sound, does it come from a sample pack or from a record? Keep up the good work my friend. Respect
There are websites that list their sample sources. But samples aren't necessarily my interest/forte. I just picked some random sample from one of my libraries. It kind of worked :-)
I get it. It sounds like a distorted oohh ahhh sample from the older Roland modules. I have also bought a lot of old source material from Retrobeat. It is not expensive and some are difficult to find, especially the older u220 cards and 90s samples.
It kind of does have that Roland quality to it. I also thought it was one of the S50 demo samples or something. But now that you and I have started this conversation, maybe somebody will pitch in and point us to the origin of the sample. I have a very sophisticated audience. :-) Yet again, there are 1,000 ways of getting a similar sound. I literally found a vocal sample that had the right flavor and then modulated the pitch, just to make it sound more human and, of course, for special effect as well.
