    This is simply sublime. I feel a sense of melancholy, as if I'm mourning someone or something, yet still I'm oddly hopeful. It's fascinating when a song can conjure contradictory emotions in the spirit. And if I'm not mistaken, one of those talented female singers is Hannah Traynor. I've been looking for videos of her where she sings solo bits since its been announced she is joining Celtic Woman as a new soloist. Once again, Celtic Woman Ltd. looting the Anúna talent pool! . (That's me attempting a little bit of cheekiness). And, now, I'm on my way to get the new digital release of Evocation. I wish Anúna the best with their future international endeavours. And I hope the Powers-That-Be in Ireland will one day come to their senses in supporting Anúna as the band deserves! Love and appreciation from Denmark! 🙂

      Yes - Hannah is on this recording. It is unlikely we will be supplying any more singers from Ireland with any training and experience. But very glad you like this!

    How beautiful 🤗 Where were the landscapes filmed, especially the mountains with the tooth-like rock?

    I played "Fil a Run" and it auto-advanced to this, which gave me a headache at about 3:40. I'm going to listen to Bach's "Air" now to soothe my headache.

      Lovely. Thanks for making the effort to listen. And you are so brave to be so public about your musical shortcomings. Good for you!

    I admire Michael's work so much. Must be such a chalenge to coordinate, direct, compose... well, to be like the 'epicenter' were all these talented and special people got reunited arround. Everything allways so professional and impecabble like this.

    Beautiful bit, a bit cacophonous, like in 2001: A Space Oddity, good though, just me. Nollaig shona dhaobh.

    This song appeared out of nowhere and induced a severe stomach ache. Also that old left hip pain came back with a vengeance. X-rays revealed no serious damage and the doctor prescribed Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" and Beethoven's "Fur Elise".
    Please only use 2nd and 7ths if they are resolved properly. 4ths Are a tricky subject - in some cases they are fine, in others they cause arthritis.

    Stunning! How many of the singers were producing the intermittent higher harmonics? The motion of the water on the video captures so well the melodic fragments - like fractals. Do you score imitative entries as ‘aleatoric’ to capture that spontaneous unmeasured flow - like waves. Loving the podcasts. Such a rich source of information. Thank you.

    • @anunachoir
      @anunachoir  3 роки тому

      We don't think about stuff like that Christine. Music forms as it should when it needs to and in this case there is little need to notate the score. In fact the entirety of this piece fits on one page.

    Discordant. Painful sounds. Hard on the ears. Tried to listen to the end, but actually caused an intense headache.

    • @anunachoir

      The piece was created to expand the musical perspective of our audience. In the same way that flowers are not all red Vocal music is a myriad of hues. Open your ears. Life is short, and this piece is actually not dissonant in very fundamental ways.

      Me, too. I just stopped at 5:19. I was working and it was playing in the background when I felt a headache coming on, and when I listened to the music, it got more intense.

      Personally if I don't like something I switch it off. I don't post comments passive aggressively indicating my displeasure. In this day and age your energy would be better spent doing something positive - candle making, raffia, origami. All of those are soothing and surprisingly welcome gifts for that special occasion in someone's life. Just know we are always here if you need any further ideas.
