Looks amazing, it' a gift when mother nature allows such a collaboration of people and eels. Last time I witnessed such a joining was as a little boy and it was with minnows, thousands of minnows...
Well put Napoleon, we have some pretty decent bird migrations here at certain times of the year, might have to get some video of that, could be a cool video. Thanks for watching!
I used to catch huge long fins..6-7 ft.. thick as a foorball players thigh!.. man they put up a fight!!.. Mangatangi dam..on the way to Kaiaua.. good times!!.. 😉🐺🏴☠️
Everything in Decline for decades already and in many places completely gone clams in the rivers in the USA since I was a kid and I'm 65 years I have seen the steady decline of everything even the sucker runs have declined and all disappeared in many places it makes me very sad so I hope for the return of Jesus he is coming be saved by grace the gospel of the Death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, don't get left behind
Yum eel tastes awesome …put a decent fight on the line to ….think the biggest one I caught was 90cm (I know not a giant but big enough for me ) I throw the smaller specimens back and let them grow …it’s amazing that they travel so far to go into these river systems/creeks then journey all the way back ….got to respect that that’s commitment
Если би в мире запретили хотя би на один или два года промишленний улов морской риби,популяция риби восстановилась би до уровня 1960 года,но єто фантастика. Человек через 10 лет может уничтожить всю рибу в морях.
It was great to watch you hand feeding these eels. Amazing to think of their long life spans. The environment here is in good shape. These native species are vital in dams, rivers and streams. Some can go from fresh water to the salt water of the ocean to reproduce. I was worried about your sweet little dog, not on a lead. I thought she‘lol start protecting her humans….looks like a part Jack Russell….then I guess she has seen them all before….and they’re part of the furniture…..
The streams must be very clean and unpolluted in order to hold a bountiful crop of wild eels and I think New Zealand is known for much wild trout also is it true? Maybe I am moving to New Zealand and get the hell out of the USA where I can go and live like a mountain man is it possible if I am poor? :-)
Chinese investors will come with big plans n big money to protect n grow these eels for eventual export to China. Potential profits for Kiwi farmers n entrepreneurs to JV with Chinese investors OR sell direct to Chinese importers. The key to successful business with China is to be friendly, agreeable n nice, treating them with honesty n integrity, above all else, with MUTUAL RESPECT. New Zealand has so much good stuff to attract Chinese investment, like meat, dairy, education, seafood, n tourism combined with cheap labour for seasonal fruit harvesting. Good luck. Peace on earth and goodwill to mankind 🙏
Pozdrawiam z Polski

Getting more expensive, but if you google the West Coast of the south island you might be in with a chance to find something cheap!
Yes some of the best Trout fishing in the world i think? I recall a record fish coming out of Queenstown a few weeks ago from memory.
