Yes he was a demon but she brought out the best in him. He showed her that all demons weren't heartless. Their love story is right up there with Romeo and Juliet. 😢😢😢
Most of the time the directors do no respect the end of the book and choose a tragic ending instead...which is quite disappointing but this time is me secretly wishing for them to change the ending and give us a different one from the book. ❤🩹

Xiang Liu asks Xiao Yao why she didn't let him help her underwater, she replies that it was because she was afraid, afraid of him. He then asks if kissing him would be worse than death. She tells him once again that she is afraid, afraid to let him into her dreams, and that he is not the type of man that girls dream of and that yes, it would be worse than death. So... I don't see how these dialogues mean what the antis claim, especially when we know that what Xiao Yao wants is someone to accompany him in his life, which Xiang Liu cannot do, in view of his responsibilities. Basically what these dialogues that the anti are using to go against the ship with Xiang Liu actually mean : "I didn't kiss you because I'm afraid. I am afraid of you. Afraid that if I kiss you, you might come into my dreams/my heart. And you're not the type of man I dream of because what I want is someone who will accompany me, which you can't do. So yes, kissing you would be worse than death, because it would mean bringing you into my dreams/my heart when you could never give me what I need." In fact, it literally proves that Xiao Yao already has feelings for Xiang Liu to say such a thing and especially fear that such a thing would happen, and given their interactions throughout the series, it's actually obvious that she loves him too, but she holds back this feeling because she wants someone to accompany her once again, something that Xiang Liu unfortunately cannot do. It's not very complicated to understand though. And don't even get me started on the "She's so scared of him !" bullshit, because clearly, we must not have been watching the same series. And I don't even see why I should even explain on this point, because once again, anyone who has seen the series would be able to say otherwise. That may have been the case at first, but she's clearly evolved on that. People refuse to allow a relationship to evolve and be complex. Xiang Liu's detractors prove it. But these darn NonXL stans keep on spoiling that they're impossible to be the endgame. Everytime i feel like giving up on my YaoLiu ship, this darn drama would give them another chance to be close which likewise gives me another hope to ship them til the end😩😩
