    Finally! Someone not only with some truth, but who backs it up with actionable advice. Well done! I've always considered myself a "personality streamer." My problem is, since I took time off, I lost my edge and it is taking practice to sharpen it again. I'll try the 10-minute technique. That's a strong idea. My second biggest issue is how to get that "personality" in front of potential viewers.... which you address in the follow-up video. Funny for me, most of this stuff I know. Hearing you say it certainly reinforces what I should be doing and you drop some new points or techniques I hadn't thought of. Thank you.

      @ContentDelta I've noticed myself many people don't understand the "presentation" factor. It kills me to see deadpan streamers - especially when they have views that eventually drain away. It's a missed opportunity. That lead-in business (no spoiler) example was brilliant and very on point.

  • @Saknika
    @Saknika 2 дні тому

    Oh man... as if watching myself over and over and over again to make clips and clip compilations and shorts and the like weren't bad enough... 😂 Honestly though, even doing that stuff with the clips has helped me in much the same way I suspect the recording yourself each day and then critiquing yourself, because often times the way I remember the moment isn't the way it actually happened, and I make little mental notes of things I want to adjust just from that, too.

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta День тому

      That is really good! Honestly, as long as you are watching yourself and you are adjusting what you are doing in a way fitting for you - that is the most important part.

    Once again, another great video! I have finally figured out my "why" I want to stream, and this video really helped me to cement it in my brain: because I want to make other people excited about science or are already big science nerds, especially in the field of geology and aligned sciences. I have spent many hours over the last couple weeks or so refining as much as I can on my stream, including channel redeems (more geology, fewer random things that either clash with my personality (low key and more chill and relaxed) or just never get used, ever, or both), structuring my schedule and what I want to chat about on stream (am planning on gradually moving away from predominantly gaming to more science chit-chat over 2025). Despite this, there's this voice in the back of my head wondering if three years is too late, but I have a feeling that it is never "too late" to really overhaul a stream channel.

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta День тому

      It is never too late to overhaul your channel, however you have to acknowledge the possible consequence which is that you will start back from zero viewers and have to rebuild. However, if you already have a handful people that watch you for you, then they will 100% join you on this journey!

    You can have a ton of channel redeems, personality, constant yapping without silence, respond to every gfx seller in chat thinking its an actual viewer, streaming variety games, panels, alerts, banners, overlays, watch hundreds of tips and tricks videos, have great audio with Shure's mic, have Sony ZV-E10, NVidia's expensive GPU (sorry AMD fans but your GPUs just have terrible looking encoders, I had AMD and streams looked very bad) and much more. However if no one actually clicks when all of that is pointless.

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta День тому

      As @MightyChingus is saying: Nobody does it right the first time around. You need to try and try again until you find something that -hits-. Then you analyse that, use that, and make a series out of it. A lot of people say that streaming is just luck, and while I don't agree there is a lesson here: If it is a lottery, then every time you put out content you buy a ticket with the prize being that you are "discovered" and launched into the stratosphere.

    • @jiveboomer
      @jiveboomer День тому

      @Zarzoyed Honestly, if you don't have any of that and someone clicks, it's still pointless. I'd rather give it my all and know I did my best and still fail than to fail because I just "phoned it in." At least I can take pride in my efforts and feel good about myself. If I do that is it really a failure or is it momentum that can carry me to success in my next endeavor. Having a clear motive and direction is incredibly strong advice for any endeavor in life and is so easily overlooked. Learning it here might help you down the line.

    A lil help here folks! i downloaded the resource and i do understand coding a little bit since i had learned Java in school. So the Variable in the "Execute code" is "cropWidth" and in OBS RAW, it is entered at %cropWidthLocal%. is this right? does the "Local" bit have to be added to communicate with OBS? I tried to setup Follow Goal and it is all or nothing...i want 178/300 to have 59.3% of the Bar show up, but it goes up to 100% and i do not have a clue why.

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 4 дні тому

      It has to be cropWidthLocal because we import the Global variable "cropWidth" to the local variable "cropWidthLocal". If you want to set up a follower goal, then make sure you switch the goal type to Follower and set the correct number as your target. If this doesn't work, jump into the Discord and we can look at it together.

    Hey, I have a question. I am average at best in most games and lean on personality to draw people in. I used to call myself a "personality streamer" whereas it didn't matter what game I played, people were stopping by for me. Well, with the "fresh start," I acknowledge that I need a hook to draw new viewers and that hook has to be a game. I also agree that "game hopping" can be jarring and maybe disappointing for some people. Do you think I should stick with just one title or could I get away with rotating within a genre. For instance, I noticed I am really into PvEvP Extraction Shooters. My game is Hunt:Showdown (pretty saturated). I am thinking of working in Dark and Darker and Greyzone Waefare, which fit the genre but are decidedly different games. Is this going to stiffle growth? Thanks in advance.

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 4 дні тому

      Hey Jive! If you are looking to grow and you think Hunt: Showdown is pretty saturated (which honestly it is), then yeah absolutely bring in Dark and Darker and Greyzone. Especially if there are massive updates or events it becomes very easy to go out there and play that for a stream or two just to bring in some variety. The point is that you stay within that particular genre and don't stray TOO far. (Plus, keep an eye on new titles coming out)

    any idea on how I would code in a chat from a platform streamer bot doesn't have direct access to?

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 4 дні тому

      That is a really big challenge, because first and foremost: The platform needs a publically accessible API which allows you to get all the messages that get entered in chat. That on its own is not widely available, but depending on the platform you may be able to find that. Once you can get access to that, you need to code a way for SB to communicate with that and catch it whenever it posts a new message (that is simpler, luckily).

      @ContentDelta I've followed you for awhile now and genuinely appreciate your efforts. I have several projects that I'm working on (a novel, an online ministry, and game content creation). Your advice can help with two of the three. Currently, I am dipping into all three as inspiration hits. I'm also studying UA-cam and TikTok (though I'm in the States so I need to see what our government does about TikTok before fully committing there. I'll know by the end of January). I like the focus of TikTok, but maybe YT shorts can fill that role. Anyway, no real question at the moment. I'm just sort of thinking out loud. I will begin the new year with a weekly schedule and at least start off organized.

    Good video mate. I DJ and have about 280 followers on Twitch & approx 15 viewers. I feel if I had 15 people in my house listening to me DJ that ain’t bad.

      Thank you very much! - And you are right! Streamers often forget that 5 viewers is a LAN party, 15 is a houseparty, 30 is a classroom, and it just gets bigger from there!

      You are right, x264 uses the CPU, but that is why - when you go through the video and look at my recommended settings - I will always recommend using h.264 (or h.265/AV1 for YT) because you don't want to load MORE onto your CPU.

    Thank you so much for this! I've been sort of streaming for a couple years, but not as often as I'd like due to doing study (a Bachelor of Science in Geology, followed directly by a Master of Science in Geophysics. Physics *demands* braincells!) But with that study behind me now, I'm making an effort for 2025 to be my best streaming year yet. I was making notes on a notepad of talking points you mentioned that I can definitely work on, so thank you for giving me ideas on what to do next to improve how I stream. You earned a new sub!

    Thank you so much, this video was very helpful. Now that the game and mic audio are on seperate channels, could you please explain the best way to edit video in mic audio is still to low?

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 13 днів тому

      If your Mic Audio is still too low in the recording, you can do two things: 1) You can check if your mic is low in the recording OBS too - if so, add some Gain as a filter. 2) If it is fine in OBS but too low in your editing software, then you can add more volume to your mic in the editing software and remove some of the game volume.

    5:34 is a *beefy* statement, i'd like to hear more about that

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 13 днів тому

      You are right, it is a beefy statement but I really do believe that. I will try to explain, starting with the most important argument: 1) Kick uses Amazon's Live Streaming services. The reason it looks like Twitch is because it uses the exact same back-end as Twitch. This means, where Twitch goes, Kick will have to follow and they pay more for these services than Twitch because it is not affiliated to Amazon. 2) Twitch, at most, gives a 70/30 split and has been driving their ads as a revenue source for a few years now. Kick pays out 95/5 and has no ads process at all. This means that Kick, as a company, pays out more and earns less. While this is backed by Stake for the time being: If Twitch is still not making money, how will Kick? - At some point Stake HAS to pull the plug or live with a money-bleeding appendage. 3) Kick is constantly under fire, people are leaving their platform to return to Twitch because there are way more viewers there, and despite the appeal of higher sub-splits and Kick as a "rebel" platform that hype is dying down. Kick benefits heavily from the "virality" of their marketing and I do not see that returning unless they make some big moves - sadly it has been very quiet over there for a while now with very few breaking news stories and improvements. Lastly, and this is very much my opinion: Kick does not have the culture of Twitch, nor does it have the viewer experience. This has very little to do with the streamer side, but if the viewer experience is bad then how are you going to make it more appealing for streamers to go there when there are so few people watching? - This is the same problem UA-cam has been facing during their massive "Live" push and I do not think that culture can be instilled before a company has to pull the plug on the project. Hope this explains a bit more and if you want to talk more about it, then just let me know.

    For people in the USA need to know Tiktok looks to be banned in 2025 in January so shorts may be best. Hopefully things change

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 13 днів тому

      Honestly, if the Ban goes through then this is not only for the USA. The USA makes a HUGE piece of the TikTok market in the western (English speaking) world, so if you make English content I'd go to shorts.

    You know, if you want to tell people how to do high quality streaming/social media crap, you probably should have more than 3000 subs and average more than below-1000 clicks on your vids. Because it looks like what you're doing isn't working too great.

    i love this video as a roadmap just got a pc a few months ago and tryna stream on twitch and doing tiktoks. I just dont feel interesting enuff and it spikes my anxiety idk if you would have a personal conversation with me off video but the content side is really bugging me and i wanna grow with realistic expectations. And how do i still grow my twitch if i cant funnel the ppl i got on tiktok over? feels counter productive

    • @ContentDelta
      @ContentDelta 4 дні тому

      There is a lot to unpack here: First and foremost, if you want to have a deeper chat: Join the Discord. Best place to get a hold of me and the Content Delta team. If you are struggling with getting people over from TikTok to Twitch, then there are a few things that you can do to increase the number of people that come over, but it takes time. The more people see your TikTok shorts and lives the more chance that they will actually come over to your Twitch channel. This means if your content is good and you can keep pushing out, the chances people come over compound. It will just take a few months.
