- I'm taking you through the process of a home renovation....in miniature! I've been wanting to makeover a dolls house for the kids for so long and took last Christmas as the perfect excuse.

This has turned out so well- I love the colours on the exterior, as well as your work on the inside. Now you need to make a dolls' house for yourself- I am working on two as I have so many miniature items. My passion is Japanese boxes so those are included.
It was this video of yours that a month ago when I had Covid, inspired me at 55 years old to finally get my dream dollhouse to do up! It’s honestly taken over my life..not wanting to sound like an influencer but I’m OBSESSED!!
Today I realized lil bratz dolls are the ideal size for. 1;12 house so ordered a couple from Marketplace and like you will live precariously through my little thatched Dollhouse ❤❤

My Fella rescued a huge dollhouse for me from the curb a few months ago. It needs some extra love, but he’s helping me give it. I’m so grateful he’s so happy to see me so happy. ❤ Your house re-do is absolutely gorgeous ❤

definitely haha! There were reasons why I was doing it on the floor but my legs weren't happy

I have grown up kids and also have a dollhouse or rather dioramas but its pretty much the same. It gives you an outlet for creativity that it would be impossible to do in real life (unless you have endless money and places to decorate. I do outdoor dioramas too so it covers all kinds of scenes. I do have a bit of a thing for middle ages/fantasy realms, so it can be quite different from just houses. You did a wonderful job of this house!
That is a wonderful dollhouse that you have made! I am in the process of making over a mouse house that I picked up on FB Marketplace. It is set in 1940 Britain, so a complete change. My youngest is 38 now, and though I took a 30 year break, my miniatures were always supervised, and the kids were great. Don't let this be your last, if you enjoyed it, go forward. LOTS of adult men and women make everything from true works of art to fun cardboard and pasteboard pieces!

Where did you find the dolls? I decorated a dollhouse a few years ago but had trouble finding people that I liked.

On the other note screen blinking @17:46 was very harmful and caused severe pain to look at I had to skip through this part of the video. Has anyone else had this issue?

It’s gorgeous… _BUT_ as a kid, I would’ve been so disappointed that the furniture & whatnot was all already permanently in place, bc the BEST part (for us growing up) of playing with dolls, was putting everything together & putting all the furniture in the house & decorating, etc. it was the best part of it. If it was all already done I would’ve been much less interested in playing with it.
haha I mean yeah I know what you mean but its only the big pieces are stuck down, more for if we moved the dolls house for them to play but also the old dollshouse just ended up a jumbled mess and furniture getting lost. They don't seem to mind :)

My grandfather built a huge Barbie sized dollhouse for my sisters and I. We loved that we could actually play with it.

I really like that paint brush you’re using for priming . I’ve never seen a handle like that on a small brush.
I have my childhood dollhouse that I would decorate with my grandma that at passed. Hopefully one of my boy’s will have a little girl one day & I can give it to them.

Omg where did you get those furniture pieces on eBay please? They're amazing
so some came with the house from facebook marketplace and then the others were mainly from Minimum World. Anything from ebay will be linked in the description box if I was still able to find it.

I saw you struggling to name the little items included in your dollhouse haul that were not furniture. I used to have the same struggle so now I call them "accoutrements." I share this term as I thought it might help.

I have the same house but with an extra floor which will become Alice in Wonderland themed. By the way I have 9 houses none of which are for children. I started in earnest just over a year ago. Each house will have a different style. I have renovated a 1950's house. The one I am working on at the moment is a beautiful cottage, shabby chic style. It's such fun. Have fun. 😊 Jude in the UK
I just bought a little tiny wooden dollhouse from the thrift store for $3, and am currently painting it.
I relate with this video as a renter myself.
I would LOVE to do a beautiful large dollhouse like this one someday. Since I still have 3 young children, I think I’ll try to make some things a bit more play-able. Like, for instance, perhaps I’ll do Velcro or magnets behind the frames, and give the kids some laminated little art they can swap out in the frames.

Very enjoyable and lots of ideas.. my kind of thing too! I have a circa pre WW1 dollshouse I adore, with some beautiful hand built furniture. It is an immaculate design, four rooms, two hallways and fully functional stairways. Not to mention the large hip roof attic I've yet to go into. The house is definitely in need of renovating. I've been collecting and styling the crossover between Art Deco and Art Nouveau, so l have had fun sourcing decor. I've had fabric printed on to photography paper for example. This was to be my old age project I tell myself as I source, but I'm now 73 and think I'll go ahead anyway. I'm making a cot in the style of furniture which gives me confidence! Subscribed!

Your dollhouse redo is so very lovely! The materials you used for everything from wallpapers to bed covers and kitchen ware are just so beautiful. I see dollhouse redos that I usually end up thinking oh they should’ve changed this or done that differently but I didn’t think any of those things about this one. I’ve loved miniatures since I was a child and this gave me such a big smile. Thank you so much for sharing!

That is so pretty!! You have excellent taste! I was renting a room in Hawaii in 2015, and put together two 1:24 scale dollhouses, which I just posted about recently on my UA-cam channel. A couple years later, I inherited my mother's house in New Mexico, and got to have my own house to decorate, which I had never been sure would ever be possible! ❤

I have rescued a dolls house from a skip the exact same style as this. Front door is broken off and a window ledge is missing. It had no stairs, I made some from cheap Jenga wooden blocks. Then came to a halt. Just had this video come up to watch and now feel inspired to get going again.
