Wondering why you chose the stainless steel setting to engrave the aluminum body of the iPad when they gave you a choice of aluminum? Just wondering, or maybe you thought or think that the iPad body is stainless steel?
Sorry I should’ve said thanks for the review of the IR, I recently got the D1 pro 2w and was contemplating buying the IR so this was informative, especially after watching a review from the Louisiana laser guy channel, he didn’t like the IR at all.
Another UA-camr recently discussed these inexpensive laser engravers that are NOT in any form of enclosure. It's worth noting that there are a number of safety concerns about this type of tool. First, there is no form of protection from laser radiation. Enclosed engravers typically have a transparent window so you can view what's happening but they're designed to filter specific wavelengths of laser radiation so they can't harm your eyesight. This is not true of these gantry-style engravers. They sometimes come with protective glasses but that's barely adequate, especially if you have anyone besides yourself in the vicinity. You mention that you should do this in a well-ventilated area but that's the bare minimum. Better quality engravers usually require filtration and a method of evacuating fumes to the outside air.
Just be careful with this type of tool. It's great to see them coming down to more affordable price ranges but these tools can be incredibly dangerous and it's important to know what precautions to take.
