I think for this winter I'm going to let them Park in the up position. This will help with the snow buildup at the bottom and make it a lot easier to clean the windshield. And then I'll fix them in the summer.
I had issue where only high worked and had to swap a control board down under wiper, today in -20F temps mine decided to park up on glass, so possibly iced up, will pull cover and lube her up again, I put synthetic grease on it 2 years ago, 1st time had issue since, perhaps it did not stick in the cold,,, goofy design, wipers that break when there is snow, too much to push, wonder how many have failed while driving in a blizzard...
Great video!! Helped immensely. My problem is now that that little pin that the motor mechanism catches is missing. Must have fallen or broken off. Any suggestions?
I have never had to take it apart. I'm guessing that may be a hard one to locate. My answer to everyone. You have the book of everything in front of you. Maybe an auto recycler in your area. Thanks for watching the video. Unfortunately I have never taken the wiper assembly apart. My problem was fixed with a lube job. I have since removed the problem, Sold the vehicle.😁 The pin may just be stuck. A shot of oil and let it sit. Then with battery disconnected try to gently pry the pin in the direction it's supposed to move.
Since I didn't have to disassemble the mechanism to get it to work I don't understand what is going on under everything. I have sold this vehicle since the video so I can't go look. Maybe lightly pry on it slightly just to see if it will move with the battery disconnected so it doesn't start cycling. And spray it with lubricanting oil at the same time.

So, did you have to bang the locking pin or the metal plate? I have an oldsmobile van and they are built the same. I have that issue right now.
No, after lubing it everything started moving freely.
I just installed a new wiper motor. It works great but my cam stays in a locked position with the pin in the locked position.
