- This video was originally released on Vimeo by a guy called Jakob Jensen. This is his description (PS I do not own these shots, the film, etc.):
"Here's my animation of Hiccup from DreamWorks Animation's "How to Train your Dragon 2" (2014). Apart from actual shots, you'll find an early rig/acting test and a few deleted shots. I unfortunately wasn't able to complete my job on the film, which is the reason you'll see a few clips labelled "Not film version". In theses cases the script changed and the shots had to be re-animated or altered by other animators. The challenge, from the performance test to the actual shots, was to ensure that Hiccup was inhabited by the same restless soul as in the first film (same mannerisms, jittery movement patterns etc.), while adding the confidence of 5 years of no longer being terribly misunderstood."

Has the Horrendous part ever actually been mentioned in the films or TV series? Or even the third? Haddock definitely is said in the TV series but I don't think even that is in the films.

Gah,I just noticed when Hiccup says ''no'' after his father's death it is much softer, almost unhearable. I actually like that more. It's like he's just saying it to himself and really can't believe it.
That look Astrid give Hiccup at 1:53 to 1:57 is like she is saying 'Do you want us to get killed faster?' Kind of wish they added some of those deleted scenes in.

well she did say that Hiccup and Toothless were the same age. When Valka had disappeared, Hiccup was just a baby. Maybe Toothless was young too, but he still could've helped the destruction of Berk back then.
Or there might've been more Night Furies before Toothless was found. They may have gone endangered a bit before Toothless.

Am I the only one who thinks that while Drago Bludvist was certainly an intimidating villain, Dreamworks going with their original plot: Valka being the insane/lone villain PROBABLY would've been just as interesting??
I would have loved to hear Hiccup's thoughts on Valka in the final product!

The shots at 4:42 and 4:56 would have been so much more powerful, in my opinion. I think they show a lot more emotion and are a lot more accurate to how Hiccup would react in those situations.
HTTYD 1 & 2 were just awesome, but the 3rd one is kinda making me nervous, especially the rumors of Hiccup and Toothless parting ways................................:(
I want to see the third one, but, I don't want to see all the dragons leave Berk. From what I understand, the writers are taking all the dragons off of Berk

Well, the writers didn't do it, they are just following the story from the books. Cressida Cowell (HTTYD Author) visioned the entire story in the reverse order, and the story actually starts with Hiccup looking back to the days when he was with Toothless. The movies do follow the same plot. In HTTYD 3, Hiccup will be a bit old (maybe in his early 30's) and would be leading his pack, whereas Toothless would be leading the dragons. Since both are the leaders of their clans, they part ways to take care of their responsibilities.
Sad but that's how the movie would be. I would be more annoyed if they show a fight between Hiccup and Toothless..
That's true...I just hope they keep making more episodes of Dragons: Race to the edge. That way, I can at least see Hiccup and Toothless together.
I've watched this movie probably close to 200 times and I know it by heart. It's easy to spot the little differences.
I wish they had used the "He would have stopped at nothing to defend Berk...So we can't stop either.", it was more powerful and appropriate than the line they went with.
Too bad these movies can't be three hours long...
In another alternate universe all HTTYD movies are 3 hours long

In this video when Stoick dies, I feel like the lines "…no" and "I'm sorry, Dad" are more emotional when they're said quietly than in the finished film. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Hiccup's older movements in the Astrid scene were much stiffer than what we see in the movie.
This is so good when that theme song starts playing in the background I feel like crying beautiful animated work. Honestly none of my friends like HTTYD and I'm like what is wrong with you .

3:44 It would've been so nice to have this line in the movie! It would've hinted at 2 possibilities: Valka saw Hiccup before she caught him that day or (my fav) there are more Night Furies out there besides Toothless!
Also at 5:00 you forgot about the scene of Snotlout and the Twins looking shocked/worried at dead Stoick.

I always knew there were a few frames missing in the cut between Hiccup's impersonation of Stoic and Astrid's "Not now, Dad. I've got a whole day of goofing off to get started!" Abrupt edits like that keep distracting me every time. It's one of the things that this film didn't top the first film on, the editing isn't as fluid. I'm just gonna say it: Astrid has a cute cheek structure when she impersonates Hiccup, even if it does look a long shot away from how she looked 5 years prior.
Well I can see a reason why they trimmed and re-edited that part. Hiccup's movements are too stiff and schizophrenic there for proper viewing.
Yeah, but the jump-cut on Astrid still bothers me.

It's up to taste then. I can see and respect why you find the jump-cut abrupt, but I'd choose that option anyway if it means that Hiccup moves more naturally.

Listen closely, they did add that part when Toothless threw the pebble. However, he noise he made wasn’t in the Official Film.

Most movies show major deleted/alternate scenes these are SO minor XD
50% of these are clips of the movie I've already seen. 25% of the clips are they actual deleted scenes. 25% of the clips are a few words sentences and phrases that were removed out the movie

+Abcd Abcd I don't actually have any editing programs other than Windows Movie Maker, and VLC player has been removed from my computer for some reason, so I can't import clips (this was an mp4, which isn't accepted). I could put it on my phone and trim it, because my phone can do that, but without VLC I wouldn't be able to put it all together as one video. Sorry - my editing skills suck.
