So true! Some first blooms are like first pancakes in the pan- perfectly fine but not usually a stunner. 😊
Haha! Good analogy!
Hi Matthew! The front garden is doing really well, and is so pretty. The roses by the barn, and in the cut flower garden, that are blooming are beautiful! I do hope when you clean up the driveway and get rid of the weeds that you will show that process. My backyard is rocks and the weed are horrible. I'd like to see how you take care of the weeds in rocks. Thank you so much for sharing!
Back when Heirloom was still owned by the Clements the display gardens around the farmhouse were open to the public. I was lucky enough to visit a few times. They had a large inventory of old roses (Gallicas, Bourbons, Noisettes etc) and since I was collecting those at the time it was great to be able to visit and see the roses in person. Many great nurseries in the Willamette Valley-hope you get some time to visit a few !
It’s looking good, Matthew.
Omg!!! It’s looking amazing! Your hard work is paying off 💖💖🤗💖🤗🤗🤗
I can't believe how much the plants have grown and filled in the front garden. The fountain looks great. You are a superb gardener! I miss seeing your dogs? Do they like the new home and land?
Looks great Mathew! Blessings!
The front bed is a huge space to fill with plants but you did a fantastic job filling it 🤗💚💚
Looks great! I'm so glad you mentioned that the coneflowers can start to bloom deformed like. I planted a few of them 2 years ago, so last year was my first bloom. This year I have several that are deformed and I was wondering what's going on. So, now I know not to worry about them. I so enjoy your knowledge that you share to help us with our own gardens!
Thanks for the advice on the One in A Melon echinachea
blooms. I'll stop staring at them, mentally ordering them to look better!!
We've got a bunch of 90° days coming, I'm thinking my planting is done. I doubt
it, though.😊
I promise they’re beautiful! They just need a minute. 😂
That planter !!!🤩🤩🤩 Everything coming along great !!!
When this bed fills in it will be stunning
Yoj did an outstanding job on your front garden, gorgeous, can’t wait until plants start to grow!!The fountain is beautiful,I love the placement of it 😊
Hello Matthew, your plants are healthy and growing fast. Can't wait so see how the huge front bed looks by the end of summer. Happy Gardening 🤗🌹🌿
Your hard work is paying off! The friar den is beautiful! I can’t wait to see it progress!
I am going through each of my projects and not moving on until I finish with the current project! I always feel like I'm behind. Time to get it all done before the 500 degree heat.😂 You inspire me!
Thank you Matthew, everything is coming along nicely! 💐💚🙃
You're garden is really beautiful ❤️
Thank you for your quick response ❤
Sunbelt South Africa is a real stunner! On my way over to Heirloom Roses to try and snag one of those...wish me luck...
I appreciate the discussion on drip irrigation. Starting to wonder if I should be using as there are just so many hours in each day. I still don't have everything planted in my Greenstalks and raised garden beds but I did find three volunteers in one of my planters - Calibrachoa is what I had written down as planted last year. The kids and I made our first trip to Natorps and had a lot of fun picking out annuals for the front porch planters. Beautiful not as stunning as your front yard.
Like you, most of us want to finish major tasks because August is coming!
I love my Root Slayer! But mine is the Nomad. It's such a badass little thing and I grab it more than anything else.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love your bed layout...with plan and drawing too.did u need to bought any app or software to draw your garden layout?
Yes, I used Photoshop.
We are doing drip irrigation next week. Hoping this helps . My 68 yr old body is aching lately
My husband and I love all the progress you have been making ❤Do you have 25 psi’s on your timers in your garden? Thank you in advance 😊
I don’t have any PSI restrictors on my timers because I’m on well water and my pressure tank maintains a steady pressure.
I probably missed it because I watch these during work, but how long do you personally run your drip for on a dry hot day?
My garden is similar in plantings and I was just curious. I know every garden is different..
hello there. I really like your videos, they are very informative. I've noticed that you have a redbud the rising sun, I'd like to take the chance and ask for you advise. I Planted one in April this year, it's over a meter tall, maybe 1,60 cm. when I planted it the potted compost was very loose, now the tree is growing but it doesn't look that great and some new growth dies back while other (the majority thanks God) are fine. Is this normal for this tree at its first year? (two months after planting) I hope to hear from you, thank you :)
If it wasn’t rooted properly when you received it, I’d recommend you give it plenty of water very regularly. It likely doesn’t have a large enough root system to support its top growth.
Thank you, I will do so! as I did noticed when I planted it that the roots were not that big, healthy but not bigger than the top of the tree, maybe slightly smaller. :)

Oh wow look how far that has come!!! 🤩 I can really see your vision now. Nice work! The advice I received was to cut off the blooms of first year Echinacea to preserve energy for root growth. Same for agastache.(Edit-advice was from Jenny at Creekside!)
🌞☔=🥀🌹🌸🌼🌻
My first echinachea had a double head. It was definitely odd.😂
