We just got home from Vero, we were there this past Thursday and Friday. We didn’t notice the bugs being bad. I did bring my own Off spray I used and we stayed inside at dusk and dawn. The lotion the resort supplies says to be very careful about not getting in eyes or mouth. We’ve also been to Hilton Head and it’s a very nice resort too. The noseeums are bad in Florida coastal areas. Doesn’t matter if it’s ocean or gulf. They are bad this year from what I’ve read. I wanted to add that Vero did a great job with the kids activities from what we saw. They do paper airplanes in the lobby and the kids were all running up the stairs to the second floor to test their airplanes. It was adorable! Also, you can rent bikes very reasonably and there are beautiful paths to ride close to the resort. We really enjoyed doing that.
So glad you had wonderful time! It sounds like everyone has a different experience with the bugs as my husband and daughter didn’t get bit at all 😆 The resort does an excellent job with resort activities! 🙌🏼
We drove to Florida in July 2022 from Los Angeles, California to Vero Beach! We took our time driving out EAST! We loved Vero Beach and we did stay there for 3 nights which were perfect timing before heading out to Cape Canaveral then Disney World for 2 weeks! We stayed in the main building Ocean front view! We Loved it! Loved the sunrises 🥰. We loved that we took our car! I would go again and 3 nights were good enough!
We are originally from FL and now live in NC. We have family near Vero Beach. We feel the same way! Try Disneys Hilton Head Island resort! You will love it! Calmer water, no shells on the beach! Sand is great for building castles and no bugs! At least nothing like Vero! Just standard bug amounts lol
Thanks, Bekah--There aren't too many VB reviews in this detail. I haven't been yet, but I'm a Florida local so I have a lot of opportunity. It's certainly close enough to WDW and can be a nice extension. There are definitely Atlantic people and Gulf people, and it's a consideration when you have littles. The Atlantic is an entirely different experience everyday. One day it's rough, the next day calm; one day tons of seaweed, the next day clear, etc. The Gulf is much more consistent. Looking forward to your upcoming videos.
We were in Anna Maria island in July- same bugs. We were unable to use the pool at our rental during day/night. Such a bummer. Tried citronella candles etc didn’t work. People that live there said the bugs were worse than ever everywhere this year in Florida!! Lots of bug bites which is no fun!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We have looked into the Hilton Head resort (closer to us) but it seems that resort is priced closer to Disney world deluxe resorts. Does seem a little disappointing about the limited character experiences but I guess Mickey and his pals can’t be everywhere at once 😉
For the person who asked about using DVC points because they were considering buying a resale contract - don’t let the low cost per point fool you. The dues are very high here! Just do the math to make sure it’s right for you (speaking from experience!)
Yes 👏🏼👏🏼 Great low point cost for renting, but maybe not so much for owning. Just stating that owning at Vero is an option, not that it’s the best deal 🤪
We've been in December, January, April, and July and July was the only time we noticed some bugs and they weren't bad because it was windy. Summer might be a bad time for Vero I wonder for the bugs.
We love the Florida gulf. We couldn’t make it there this year, so we are missing our Destin! 😭 (And no crazy bugs biting us there!) But we are going to MNSSHP! 🎃
Yes!!! We’ve been visiting 30A for 15 years and I love not having to think about bugs 🙌🏼 I didn’t even know that was a thing on the Atlantic side until Vero Beach 😆
Vero DVC contract pros and cons: cheaper contract but the yearly fees are much more expensive since maintenance on the beach is much more costly. Hope this helps! 😊
We just got back from the HH resort and it was amazing. So many things to do, the beach is beautiful, and Hilton Head is perfect for families. Highly recommend.
Is there a Facebook group you recommend or Instagram, or UA-cam channel to gain more knowledge over 30A? I know some beaches have limited access so I wouldn't want to just show up unprepared 😅
@@BekahHart thank you, we went to Pensacola in 2018 and would love to go back this fall on our way to WDW! But at the same time I'd like to try a different beach as long as it's on the panhandle 😍 Hoping it's not too cold by the end of November down there 😂
Oh my gosh that's so bad with the bugs - that's crazy hon .. where about's do you go on the gulf hon? I've been to clear water which was amazing just wondered if you recommended anywhere else? x
Destin will always be the greatest beach ever. Atlantic beaches are not even in the same ballpark in terms of the sand, water clarity and waves. Not terrible but not nearly as beautiful.
Are the bugs a year round problem or certain times of the year? I've often thought of going there for a couple days, but after seeing the "lack" of things to do, I really think I'd rather stay a couple more days in Orlando😵😊🏰😊
The bugs are definitely worse in certain months. And if you’re looking to stay busy, Vero Beach isn’t the resort for you ☺️ It’s the place to be for relaxation and ocean views 🙌🏼

As a FL native, we would vacation at Hilton Head every summer ☺️ The beach there is wonderful! Although we MUCH prefer the gulf 😍🙌🏼

How did Disney’s Vero Beach Resort fair during the recent hurricane Milton and related tornadoes? Thanks

I’ve heard the summer months are worse with the bugs 🤪
Thanks for the tour
You got it! 🥳
would you guys ever consider a alaskan disney cruise??
We consider every type of Disney trip 😂

I don’t. We have yet to visit the Hilton Head Disney resort.

It’s on my list to visit one day! ☺️

What are some Gulf side beaches you'd recommend for a family beach trip?
30A, Destin, and Grayton Beach are all wonderful!
Looked like a fun trip! What was the name of the restaurant you went to off property?
We went to Citrus Grill house ☺️
The thought of the bugs alone are a no go for me!
It was definitely a bummer 🤪

I’m sure there are 30A Facebook groups out there! ☺️ The cool thing is that any Airbnb will direct you on where your beach access is 👌🏼

The bugs are all over Florida not just Vero
Just on the Atlantic side. FL native here 😉
@@BekahHartPlenty of No Seeums in Sanibel/Captiva as well. Definitely NOT just an EC Beach thing.
@@sabrinakalechman5255 I’ve been visiting the gulf my entire life, and I’ve never encountered noseeums 😉

Are the bugs seasonal or there all the time?
They are present year-round, with certain months in the spring and summer being worse than other months.
Thank you
