So in a rather long (7+ years) D&D campaign I was in I played a Druid and a bit early in the campaign we encountered a young green dragon who was supposed to be a minor boss-like monster that setup the eventual big bad. But thanks to some lucky rolls my Druid convinced the green dragon to stop terrorizing the local villages and instead go setup her lair in my forest, as part of a mutual defense pact where my Druid (who just so happened to have been sent out into the world by his forest's group of dryads to find seeds for more plants to expand the variety of our forest) and the dryads he worked with would protect the green dragon and her future eggs/young in exchange for her protecting the forest along with us, AND using our magic to make the green dragon appear like a human whenever she wanted, allowing her to have as much fun as she wants playing politics in the local towns (which my druid and the dryads he worked with simply did not care about). Over the years the green dragon and my eventual archdruid fell in love and had several green dragon wyrmling foster children and half-dragon babies together. The best part was riding a green dragon into battle and dropping treants on her political rivals. Ah good times.
"Mr. Wizard, how do you grow your rose bushes so big and colorful?" "Green dragons." "You mean you use dragon dung for manure or something?" "Or something. Muahahahha!!" Party: "You want us to capture a green dragon ALIVE, just so you can kill it in your garden?"
Question for the wizard, "Ok, how much gold and magic items are you willing to pay for the job ?" Question to the green dragon ," Hello there, did you ever here about a wizard over that way ? Well you see, he has this garden and we want to help you rob him." And if your character group is high enough in levels to hunt dragons, well you can polymorph a cow into something a dragon would like to really get Know for a few minutes, over a couple of days. " How friendly is your party's bard ?"

I've made a slave of a green dragon lure my adventures to an 'abandon' church sunk into the ground; with the promise of treasure (something he couldn't do alone). The damn wizard picked up on it being a lair somehow and was the cook through out the campaign. Once they set on the quest, he wrote on a piece of paper (irl) Beginning of every session. Didn't tip it off to any others (so not to alert my suspicion, either) never said what he wrote. They wandered through the place, and when they were in the deepest part of the dungeon and had loot set in their eyes, The chamber closed behind them and a gas descended! I asked for saves, but the wizard held up a hand, stopping everyone as they were reaching for their dice. We both smiled at each other, as I asked why. "There is no need to save from the poison, When we are all immune. I've fed you all a multitude of poisons and antidotes during each of our meals. Thats what these notes are for." And he showed us all the notes. We were all stupefied. They all would have died from that poison gas, if not for the wizard. Most still died from the fight, but it would have been so much worse if I could have used the damn breath weapon. Fuc-|(-in wizards. Makes me smile every time when I think about it too. [BTW: this is the shortened version of the story.]
*They all would have died from that poison gas, if not for the wizard. Most still died from the fight, but it would have been so much worse if I could have used the damn breath weapon.* So, your goal was to kill them all or something? That's pretty messed up man...
@@filipferencak2717 My players don't seem to mind it. We play by the rule of cool in a lot of my games, so they usually have an abundance of slack for wonky stuff. I was a 'fair fight' CR wise, but they were locked in a chamber when this happened. I may have also embellished the story a tad too. ;)
What if a green dragon made a deal with a town? If the townsfolk worshipped the dragon like a deity (sending sacrifices in the shape of cattle and even festivities where the dragon is the guest of honor), the dragon would gift them with a plentiful harvest, scaring away pests and predators that may harm their livestock. Sounds like something a dragon would do, it ensures it's survival and now has some followers.
I feel like that would only work if the dragon got some sort of IMMENSE benefit like the unerring support of the town or some percentage of each generation was given to it as slaves.
@@ZonarohGaming something like that actually happened in canon (before the dragon succumbed to the Dragonrage and ate everyone): forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Verthandantalynx
@@SacredSpirit1337 Very interesting! Since you seem to knowledgeable I have a second question; would the intense parental instincts affect half-dragons? Like if the green dragon mother had a half-dragon kid would the mother be kind and work with this half-dragon but not as like a slave-master scenario or do you believe otherwise?
@@ZonarohGaming tough question. I grew up reading monster manuals but I guess it’s up to the author / DM to decide. At least with Red Dragons, there was a Dragonlance novel (The Red Dragon Codex) where a Red Dragon used a Draconian born from a corrupted Silver Dragon egg as an assassin/spy, but only ever viewed him as disposable even though she was the closest thing to a mother he had. Long story short (obvious spoilers) after killing an adventurer to take his shape and identity the draconian ends up actually befriending the protagonists and helping them kill the red dragon, then the draconian’s real mother (as in the silver dragon that laid the egg) finds him and un-corrupts him, turning him into an actual young silver dragon.
I want him to do every dragon, I want to hear about the dragons no one talks about - there’s so many dragons, there’s probably a group of dragons for unintentional mouth sounds like cough dragons & sneeze dragons.
@@Gryphon2026 , We can then move onto Drakes, there are some very nice Drakes. For example, Pathfinder's Star Drake is definitely one of the prettier Dragons.
Ah, my favorite dragon! I like to follow this mentality with my Green Dragons: By the time you see the dragon, half a dozen plots to end your life will already be in motion. If you end up fighting the dragon directly... you at least can die knowing those plots failed. For a Green Dragon will never bloody their claws directly, it leads to rumors that said dragon lacks the cunning and wit to trick you into destroying yourselves.
Even in AD&D , green dragons had the closest family ties. The mated pair's children stay with their parents till young adult, or till the local area can not support their large size and numbers. Then again a single green dragon clan area of control can cover over a 20 mi by 30 mi ( 600sq mi.) zone. If you see one or three juveniles out side of their parents lair, then their parent or older siblings are close by. At that point your party has become part of a live hunting exercise. Until a green dragon reaches young adult stage in their lives, they are pack hunters. " I like my alone ME time, but I need to show off to the rest of my family." So all family members stay within ear shout range. I given "XP' to players that have their characters running for their lives. One-tenth to one-20th is fare. As for the back ground part where dragons will lay egg clutches in radon areas just to make sure their blood line moves forwards. Only young adult that are reckless and the female does not want a live in mate yet in her life. " Listen , we met in a tavern , had some fun, AND THAT WAS IT ! " " Wild " green dragons infants "wrymlings," are pack hunters and den diggers. " I think I smelled a rabbit, I did ,I did ! " ( Rabbit comes out in a clump of earth and the cub does not notice and keeps digging for the next hour. Ever watch a couple of dogs dig in the same spot before ?) Young adult green dragons out on their own, really like/ cough, cough,"love" 8th-level wizards that can cast "polymorph " spells. "Would you like to be friends, with.. benefits..?" ( sly smile, wink, wink.) "Well,.. hello.. there." Adventure game finds a couple/ or a lone green dragon cub. The players: do we kill it for the XP? Do you catch it and sell it for gold, but what if the local baron/ sheriff just take the dragon from us without paying and throws us in jail for transporting a dangerous animal without permit ? What if its parents are looking for it? " You guys look funny, what are you talking about ?" waging its tail. Find the baby's parent : eight hill giants later...the local baron's hunting rangers, and really getting lost in the forest,( thank gods the mother was happy we found her baby and lend us out of the forest to a safe location.) { honestly how much trouble can a baby dragon can be ? It is only seven foot long, nose to tip of tail. Really over all it is barely the size of a mountain lion, and it is talkative. Damn, it asks more questions then my little sibling does. @@krispalermo8133 , Indeed! Some look at me strange when I proclaim there to be 'collectives' of green dragons and that such behavior is not that uncommon within the species. Within this video it is touched on in passing, a single line here and there, on how it all works but you present the largest part of the puzzle many over look: Family. This particular type of dragon will never forget just what type of family other green dragons are, and thus will instantly give other green dragons the guarded respect that is deserved. That is also why age and reputation play a large part as well, these are the building blocks on which one can judge just how much of that respect is warranted. Us mortals - We are lucky to be useful tools, we should leave Dragons to do the real thinking. As for how much trouble a baby green dragon can be: Those are born with above average (8 is average commoner) intelligence and a full understanding of what they are. That little 'woe is me' is very likely an act because as it was the most convenient way to manipulate the party. There is nothing like a whole bunch of slaves tending for your well being, even if you have to string them along with an act....
@@lostbutfreesoul I left my comment 6 months ago, is your notifier not working ? Some times I see a pass post where someone left me two or more question and it was a couple of weeks before it shown up for me to " notice." They were good questions and I do not like to keep people waiting. Sounds like you had some really good fun running dragons against your players' character parties from time to time.:) 20 some years ago I ran an open campaign setting at a game shop. We a had more than a few players who just treated NPC/ monsters as 2d flat Xp awards with no " life." So I ...." cough, cough,"... forced a few of them to RPG monster/ dragons. One guy got so wrap up into his dragon he had a fit that his side character dragon was " Killed Off," like a punk..! ( Which WAS against shop Rules) The guy running the game was, " It is my game, his NPC dragon is killed dead so he can just make a new dragon NPC what ever. I am the DM.) The young punk just had such a rude tone and a F.U. face, even the shop owner was within a second of throwing his group out. As it has been stated over 40+ years of D&D, red dragons will not use their fire breath if there is a change they we burn away " their " treasure. Also other than reds being rage rampaging monsters, even they know to flee a battle if facing death. They can just flee their lair and cause a " cave in " leading into their lair to trap the adventures within. Best way to kill a large dragon, bribe another dragon to help. As for a baby dragon being as smart as an average human, well the average human is still not very smart, and humans have a problem with believing their own bull crap way to often..... Farmer," Are you guys professional hunter ? Well, I have a baby dragon that dug a lair under my barn and it has been eating all the rats. With my cat being out of a job." Adventure," So what is the problem ?" Farmer," The Dam thing is getting bigger, my youngest can ride on its back in flight, and it is no longer asking me questions. It is telling me what to do around the farm. It is getting to big and smart for my own good." Halfling adventure, " Awesome now I can get that air mail delivery business going !" My personal favorite, it is not a " troll " that lives under the river bridge but a adult large size green dragon. The dragon craved flat the road through the local hills so a wagon can more easily make trade runs. It maintains the roads and eats the local " monsters," to protect the hamlets and villages for a small cost. If anyone is rude " IT," Green have no problem with pining that person down to the ground and clawing one of their foots off. The local people are very " friendly " to Their dragon. (" Charm spells,") even those who have not been charmed, are really grateful for the road the dragon put in, and the Green One claws up the fields a few times each year for easy plow work. Even when the dragon wants its " alone " time, there are a few dozen scouts, rangers, " bandits" within a few thousand feet of the dragon's location to given aid. a.) the location has become a quick trade rout and there are merchants and nobles that want control of it. With or without the dragon being there. Even if the adventures are just passing through. They can get draw into to save the dragon or to kill the dragon plots. Hope you are having a good weekend.
@@krispalermo8133 , I actually turned it off, it is better for my mental health to avoid arguing with people online. Makes it really difficult to hold normal conversation with me, but yeah, better for the brain! Don't often run into others with 20+ years of experience, my own is probably just shy of that number and for half of that I was stuck researching books and the likes. Rural Australia is not the best place to try and run something like D&D, and the internet wasn't as developed back then as it is now. Still, was nice to bump into you cause the energy you put into your posts show how enthusiastic you are over this game. Do have fun out there, and may the dice lead you to very interesting times.
@@lostbutfreesoul Thank you for the reply, as for " Rural Australia," that is a bit vague. You mean the " Outback "..? The grasslands, light forest or heavy forest, or just a few dozen miles outside of the nearest city.? As for my area, there was the river, the creek, thick soft wood hedge rows, log out patch forest with thick under growth, ravines, and corn fields. Out side of that with miles and miles of soy bean fields. Most people that live in the city I went to school with never set foot in the locals corn fields even after harvest. The hills around the main river can kill a horse and you can twist your ankle with little to no effort. and the farmland is nearly 30 miles/ 50 km of flat land. The joke when I was growing up was, you only read a book when you got tired of looking out across of nothing. So you had people act like there was only the city and nothing else mattered. At lest there was a roller skating building, bowling alley, and bars.
*SMALL SPOILERS* I mean... There WAS a green dragon in Chult. It's name was Needle, and her grave is a place on the map in Tomb Of Anihilation (Needle's Bones).
See interesting question; would that parentage transfer to green half/dragons? Like imagine you have a pair of green dragon mates, and they both have this sudden realization that if they had a smaller, humanoid kid, that was strictly loyal to them, they could then cause more chaos and bring in more loot? I imagine you have a green half-dragon warlock-assassin-thing that gets their powers from their parents and the hoard of said parents, and they constantly come up with one nefarious scheme or another that takes advantage of them being humanoid in form and stuff. Maybe the other half would be orc since evidently they seem ok with orcs.
In my current game I'm having a green dragon who has an amulet that allows it to polymorph into human form be the ruler of one of the major nations. The dragon has ruled for about a thousand years, just every so often changing the appearance of its polymorphed form to avoid suspicion. Its "hoard" is the people it keeps as servants in its castle as well as its treasury. I'm excited for when the party finally meets with this king and finds out his secret
Once you're done with the dragon series how about the rulers of the Nine Hells? The vid you did about Asmodeus was amazing. I never would have known that there was that much lore about DnD let alone about specific characters.
Green dragons honestly seem like most interesting out of all the chromatic dragons based on there descriptions. Characters that relies on cunning and deceit it honestly way more interesting to me than one that relies on brute force.
@@sebastianlodge7549 Yeah..it's the same for me, 1)things for D&D, Pathfinder, or almost any tabletop RPG..ESPECIALLY the manuals and reference books are usually expensive..knew a guy who had spent over 2000 bucks total on D&D..then again he's got stuff from 3E forward so yeah..2)I ain't got any local groups near me to actually help me get into the tabletop RPG scene for any of them (even if I do seem to be leaning toward Pathfinder) so I don't really have a need to get any of the books outside of just wanting them for the art and lore..now 2 might change in the next couple months to a year or so since a new Tech collage was built near where I live and places like that tend to have people that are into that kinda stuff.
I rolled a randomizer on my first campaign for the young green dragons personality. My PC's were ready for a fight with a cruel, foul, and manic dragon that would eat them as far as look at them. I rolled a nat 1 on a young green dragon and he wound up acting like Napoleon Dynamite... needless to say there was no fight we just helped him leave his crumbling tower literally helped him pack, and well he set up shop in a cave that was a meeting spot for necromancers. Needless to say we got rid of two town pests with one go. Progress I guess?
You forgot about two things that set the green dragons apart from other dragons relatively easily, even with just the skeleton: they have the longest necks and legs, an adaptation to their forest environments which gives them their giraffe-like physique (to look over the tall trees without having to stand up, to more easily skip shrubbery and other obstacles, etc.). Otherwise, great job as always! (Although I would like to hear about their hoards and favoured treasure, too! :P )
But do the baby green dragons reciprocate the love the parents give them? Maybe if someone found a dying green dragon (a mortally wounded one), maybe it could be a quest to deliver the eggs (or wyrmlings if they hatch earlier than expected), maybe in exchange of their hoard and scales (for making guard drakes), and as time passes, the baby green dragon hatches, which could open a HUGE roleplaying possibility (maybe take a bit of advantage of the strong parental bond so they can kinda reform the baby, use that cunning and silver tongue for good, or at least neutral stuff).
The green dragon baby would not care and still be cunning. But it would be more funny and exciting for it to be raised by someone who is even more cunning. "You see, well make a plan, then Theyll plan around our plan, but we planned for that so we planned around their plan, then they planned around our plan, which was our plan all along!"
I absolutely love the detail of a green dragon's carcass loosening the barriers between the material plane and the feywild. Gave me a cool idea of wood elves traditionally hunting down green dragons and bringing the bodies to their city
YESSSS the green dragon! I was waiting for this one as I am writing a campaign with a green dragon as main antagonist. Amazing lore as always! keep it up.

I find myself returning to your videos time and time again to keep info fresh in my mind as i DM my groups. Theyre super helpful, and your Copper Dragon video actually inspired me to make the copper dragon my avatar while streaming. Thank you!
I hope that eventually when you finish both the Chromatic and Metallic dragons you continue on with the lesser known dragon species like the Cobalt Dragon, Deep Dragon, etc.
Mr Rhexx, this video, like all your videos, was informative, inspiring, and shows just how much you love these modern day myths. Your work has made the last two years bearable. Great work as always, love Green Dragons.
I had kind of figured myself that that is what would have to happen around dragons - that as large magical creatures they have a distinct impact on the environment. This definitely makes it more interesting. My players are doing LMoP which of course leads to a showdown with Venomfang in Thundertree. This definitely opens up some interesting ideas. By the book, the dragon is supposed to flee if it is hurt enough, but of they kill it the bloom of life would be amazing. One of the characters is a fey pact warlock whose patron is an ancient faerie dragon. Having something that can be used to create a new fey crossing would be beneficial to him.
these are awesome, keep going into all sorts of different monsters. You bring up a lot of inspiration, and help people find ways to understand the monsters they use.
I once wrote a oneshot about a green dragon that made a forest grow magically wild, turned reptiles to dinosaurs and mammels to magical beasts, one of the most fun monsters to run as it really can set the tone of a whole adventure :)
You have given me an idea for a campaign setting. A green dragon thru intrigue and a little murder keep surrounding nations is a state competition or war. It does this so those nations will remain strong; with strong martial forces that they can be used a buffer between the dragon and the gaints.
If I remember well, there are dinosaurs in Chult, plenty enough prey for green dragons (sure, regular jungles wouldn't be so appealing, but hadrosaurs live in herds, same size as bears, they're all-you-can-eat buffet for a dragon.
Thanks this was really helpful. My players are about to chat to a green dragon in his lair surrounded by his goblin army and I need to figure out what conditions he might consider for a diplomatic solution before just tpk'ing them 😅
If they have the ability to control reptiles including lizard folk, could they control a werecroc like say a party member has caught lycanthropy from a werecrocodile could the dm use the green dragons ability to control reptiles on the player with a dc saving throw for the player to resist its control? Just to add a bit more panic to the players
Nah, the greens are more like Littlefinger, but also super deadly dragons. As far as shapeshifting, they need to learn magic to do that, but I personally assume any dragon of Ancient age has learned at least a bit of magic in their time.
@@proudpapaprick sure, they all do, but not really shape-change, as I learned it requires a specific spell challenge rating to cast, and back then, and presently now by some accounts, only ancient reds can/could turn into humaniods, and even then it was rare for a red to want to do, because again, YOUR A FREAKEN DRAGON, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BE ANYTHING BESIDES A DRAGON?!!? that's the mental most chromatics have, so thus, they wouldn't turn into a humaniod unless really desperate.
@@proudpapaprick Little finger has no loyalty to anyone. He may love some, but he still happily manipulates and uses them to his own ends. Like the Lannisters, green dragons put family above all else
@@CrossZiggy not saying it can't, but you would be diverting away from the lore of d&d dragons, and it would be your own thing, and not everyone likes coming up with reason why it can shape-shift, and some like fixed established lore. 1:20 that is a black dragon's shadow ! - The two horns (greens don't have horn) are facing forward, a sure tell. - The ground look "swampy", the greens prefer dry land. Your dragons serie do teach the little details :)
Couple of quick questions how would a green dragon react to the presence of the blight or the threat of it? Are there blight dragons? Are fey dragons different than Green dragons?
I would rule that when a green dragon is killed, everyone within 20’ per age category has to make a reflex save dc it’s breath weapon or be entangled in the poisonous plant growth. Visually like when the Nature Elemental died in Hellboy 2. Dealing poison damage like it’s breath weapons level
Hoody hoo! Greens are my favorite. He missed that some versions of the Draconomicon list land deeds and real estate among their favorite treasures. Also, in 3.5, greens starting at the Old age bracket could cast spells as 9th lv sorcerers, giving them access to polymorph.
Rule 0 of any setting, though, is that the DM can customise any creature any way they want. I've given a green dragon in my campaign 9th level spellcasting because it's more fun that way. More tools for them to apply to their scheming and plans.
When a green dragon starts to look around it parents lair at young adult stage. They start looking for 8th-level wizards that can cast polymorph so the can "mate." and play games with humans in towns. Also green dragons dig ponds and rake up unplowed fields for farmers and barons for trade. ( Dragon ! Run for your lives ! Oh ? Uh ? Give it a few pigs or a cow to show we are very happy that it helped us with the labor.) Dragon digging a hole that turns into a 20 foot pit. Farmer: Are you looking for something ? ( Dam this is odd .) Dragon : No , I saw dogs dig hole till the only thing sticking out of the ground is their tails. It look like they were having fun while doing so. And I was wondering that your mamma would yell at me like she does when the dog does it . "Dam it ! the dog is digging in front of the door again. Go do something about it." Guy opens the door , fails a ref sv DC:13 and falls 10ft down into a pit in front of his house for 1d6 dmg. Now he is on his backside looking face to face with a green dragon. ( Nothing like hiding in a house only to seen the green dragon tunnel up under the floor.)
I love your vids, they are soo deep and well researched, and if may I request, I would love to see a video about the kinds of spiders in D&D, they are a great part of D&D mythology.
For me it is the cunning. Much of the old lore warns that dragons are plotting and conniving creatures, but very few dragons in D&D embrace this. They instead favor their magics or raw strengths, and tend to embody the more brutal aspects of old folk tales. This is an unfortunate side-effect of D&D's origins as a war-game, where you pulled out dragons so the party could defeat them in an epic battle. Greens, however, fully embodied that cunning and manipulative personality from an early stage. Instead of simply jumping out to destroy you for being in their terrain, they will set up obstacles that you have to overcome just to get to the fight. You can be that fight will also be very, very, dirty... which makes them much more enjoyable a boss.
An even more awesomer vid than usually... Maybe because I'm into faes and hags that much. I wholly agree on the less clickbaity titles. I haven't been following your channel for a long time and it took me time to actually click on the clickbaity titles. (oh the irony)
Tempted to tell a tale how my young-adult green dragon was brought low by a woman.... It wasn't like that, I swear... purely professional! I will hopefully not bore those who clicked on the Read More with this long tail: This young-Adult Green Dragon had just entered the region and located a very good lair point, but it was infested with Trolls. Now Trolls are not the worse thing to fight, but this is a Green Dragon starting his own territory and it would not do for his reputation if he bloodied his claws as his very founding act. Thus it seemed like fate was laughing at him when the spot he chose to rest and ponder this problem was discovered by a wandering adventuring party completely at random! While he readied himself for a fight he begun to talk to the party and one of them stepped forth, offering their services. Not to question Timat when she gives you such good fortune he decided to send them on a foolish quest and simply mop-up whomever survived the encounter. It is not the most elegant of starts but it would fill etiquette so the other Green Dragons wouldn't whisper when he rises to true power over these woods. They didn't even ask for much, a fraction what an adventuring party should ask... it was a big red flag but, hey... dracophiles exist, maybe this group where want-to-be-fan-boys. Either way, get rid of them and watch from a distance till it is time to feast. When one of the party broke away in direction of the trolls and the rest stayed behind he knew something was up. It gave him a chuckle inside to think about the party exploring the glade and surrounding areas over the next few days, looking for a hoard that doesn't exist yet, and he was curious to see this little dwalf girl being splattered by Trolls more then twice her size. So he followed this lone individual into an old ruined structure and watched as best he could as she vanished even from his keen senses a few times. Sentries fell with single strikes, guard animals where isolated and silenced or used as distractions and... well she ate the tongue of the boss afterwards while talking to the dragon about possible alliances. I calculated the odds of success around .35% but Drez made it, she proved a well trained assassin should never be messed with. This Dragon negotiated an alliance that favored him nicely, and honored it... cause that assassin scared him that day. The fact she was willing to honour the alliance, and was easily tapped to take out some major threats the dragon would encounter... he is ashamed to admit he became reliant on her. How would you have dealt with that?
Could you cover Dracoliches sometime in the future? I love your lore videos, they help me get into the motivations of the creatures in my campaign, a dracolich being one of them.
As someone who lives in the forest and luvs the forest... I TOTALLY get the distinction between forests and jungles. Like... to me forests feel "home" and delightful.. jungles feel "harsh" and oppressive... >_

[BTW: this is the shortened version of the story.]
r/DnDGreentext the full story if u havent already.
Immunity? You’d think resistance or advantage. You aren’t non biological
The immunity would only be the affliction of the poison status not the direct damage.
*They all would have died from that poison gas, if not for the wizard. Most still died from the fight, but it would have been so much worse if I could have used the damn breath weapon.*
So, your goal was to kill them all or something? That's pretty messed up man...
@@filipferencak2717 My players don't seem to mind it. We play by the rule of cool in a lot of my games, so they usually have an abundance of slack for wonky stuff. I was a 'fair fight' CR wise, but they were locked in a chamber when this happened. I may have also embellished the story a tad too.

A Green Dragon runs what’s essentially the Waterdeep Mafia in some versions.
Long story short (obvious spoilers) after killing an adventurer to take his shape and identity the draconian ends up actually befriending the protagonists and helping them kill the red dragon, then the draconian’s real mother (as in the silver dragon that laid the egg) finds him and un-corrupts him, turning him into an actual young silver dragon.
all we have left are White, Silver, and Red Dragons left. then We need a Lore Video on Bahamut and Tiamat.
Tiamat and Bahamat would definitely good ones.
Don't forget your good old Gem Dragons, they get very little love.

We can then move onto Drakes, there are some very nice Drakes.
" Wild " green dragons infants "wrymlings," are pack hunters and den diggers.
" I think I smelled a rabbit, I did ,I did ! "
( Rabbit comes out in a clump of earth and the cub does not notice and keeps digging for the next hour. Ever watch a couple of dogs dig in the same spot before ?)
Young adult green dragons out on their own, really like/ cough, cough,"love"
8th-level wizards that can cast "polymorph " spells.
"Would you like to be friends, with.. benefits..?" ( sly smile, wink, wink.)
"Well,.. hello.. there."
Adventure game finds a couple/ or a lone green dragon cub.
Find the baby's parent : eight hill giants later...the local baron's hunting rangers, and really getting lost in the forest,( thank gods the mother was happy we found her baby and lend us out of the forest to a safe location.)

Indeed!
As for how much trouble a baby green dragon can be:
Those are born with above average (8 is average commoner) intelligence and a full understanding of what they are.
Sounds like you had some really good fun running dragons against your players' character parties from time to time.:)
20 some years ago I ran an open campaign setting at a game shop. ( Which WAS against shop Rules)
The guy running the game was, " It is my game, his NPC dragon is killed dead so he can just make a new dragon NPC what ever.
With my cat being out of a job."
Adventure," So what is the problem ?"
Farmer," The Dam thing is getting bigger, my youngest can ride on its back in flight, and it is no longer asking me questions. It is telling me what to do around the farm. It is getting to big and smart for my own good."
Halfling adventure, " Awesome now I can get that air mail delivery business going !"
My personal favorite, it is not a " troll " that lives under the river bridge but a adult large size green dragon.

Out side of that with miles and miles of soy bean fields. Most people that live in the city I went to school with never set foot in the locals corn fields even after harvest.
The hills around the main river can kill a horse and you can twist your ankle
with little to no effort. and the farmland is nearly 30 miles/ 50 km of flat land. The joke when I was growing up was, you only read a book when you got tired of looking out across of nothing. So you had people act like there was only the city and nothing else mattered.

What? No! Best role models! Politics are important!

I like how they care so much about their children, so that they can make sure to teach them to be completely assholes XD
Another great video!
8:30 - "Tundra Forest" - you mean Taiga Forest? Tundra is a tree-less, cold land (think steppe, but colder).

Why is there something weirdly adorable about the image of a downright evil dragon sweetly talking to it’s baby about how to become a villain?

7:30 So green dragons like the taste of Sprite? They should use that in a commercial.
I found this video just today and is amazing. Now I am subscribed to this channel, excellent lore
these are awesome, keep going into all sorts of different monsters.
The changing of the seasons, the mild chill, the smell of the forest, I can relate that is lush
You have given me an idea for a campaign setting. A green dragon thru intrigue and a little murder keep surrounding nations is a state competition or war. It does this so those nations will remain strong; with strong martial forces that they can be used a buffer between the dragon and the gaints.
Best minions for green dragons: Dryads and Nymphs who've been twisted by the dragon's influence on the forest.

Green dragons also have the highest rate of psionic use over innate magic ability. It was great fun giving them pisonic battle styles in 3E.

So basically, Lannisters are Green Dragons who succeeded at polymorphing but couldn't figure out how to reverse it.
Who? Also green dragons don't shape-shift, period, without outside help, or a spell.

Like "half dragon" children.
Oh ? Uh ? Give it a few pigs or a cow to show we are very happy that it helped us with the labor.)
Dragon digging a hole that turns into a 20 foot pit.
Farmer: Are you looking for something ? ( Dam this is odd .)
Dragon : No , I saw dogs dig hole till the only thing sticking out of the ground is their tails. It look like they were having fun while doing so. And I was wondering that your mamma would yell at me like she does when the dog does it .
"Dam it ! the dog is digging in front of the door again. Go do something about it."
Guy opens the door , fails a ref sv DC:13 and falls 10ft down into a pit in front of his house for 1d6 dmg.
Can’t get enough of these videos
The Aarakocras of the Star Mounts send their regards. “Go to hell! You over grown lizards!"
Was it a green dragon that drove them out? The Forgotten Realms Wiki never says what type it was.
Star Scream is a Green Dragon.
New subscriber and I find your information veryyyyyyyy useful for my future campaigns I’ll be holding!!!! Keep up the good work my dude
Definitely my favorite entry in the 5e MM. I've designed my favorite campaign exclusively off of ideas from this one entry.
Green is one of my top 4 favorites I love them, idk why always have even back in second addition.
I dont even play d&d ,but these dragon videos are really interesting
GD: It's not about the money, its about sending a message.
My favorite dragons in all of D&D. My first introduction to them was Riashan from the campaign 1 of Critical Role. Instant love.
Really enjoyed the part about guarding their babies. That was very interesting!
if a green dragon flys down to talk, its up to something its not even a question
It makes sense for green dragons to inhabit forests; their coloration would camouflage them. Their natural habitat is why they're my favorite.
An even more awesomer vid than usually... Maybe because I'm into faes and hags that much.
I wholly agree on the less clickbaity titles. I haven't been following your channel for a long time and it took me time to actually click on the clickbaity titles. (oh the irony)
I have been hoping for this to come out, I am running my first green dragon in a game today!
Tempted to tell a tale how my young-adult green dragon was brought low by a woman....
It wasn't like that, I swear... purely professional!
I will hopefully not bore those who clicked on the Read More with this long tail:
This young-Adult Green Dragon had just entered the region and located a very good lair point, but it was infested with Trolls.
I love all your videos. These are the best!
I love all these dragon videos you are making! I've learned SSSSOOOOOOOOO much! I can't wait to see what you have to say about the Silver Dragons!!!
Aww, Even though green dragons are unmistakably evil tricksters they are really caring parents like blue ones.
Could you cover Dracoliches sometime in the future? I love your lore videos, they help me get into the motivations of the creatures in my campaign, a dracolich being one of them.
thank you for your great work MrRhexx
Amo tus vídeos!!! me sirven para dar mas profundidad a mis juegos...muchas gracias!!!
Green Dragons, Green Dragons, Green Dragons! Yeaaah!
As someone who lives in the forest and luvs the forest... I TOTALLY get the distinction between forests and jungles. Like... to me forests feel "home" and delightful.. jungles feel "harsh" and oppressive... >_
Very Nice I never knew that you touch on this subject
I always had a fascination for Dragons
I really like your dragon series. Will watch them later back to back after the White dragon.
Please do Silver next! A silver dragon is extremely relevant to the next part of the campaign I’m running and I love your videos!
Pretty sure it is beig done in alphabetical order so I'm afraid you will have to wait a little bit longer.
@@JDBD13 :( Well I guess that just means Red first, right? Then Silver, then White last? Am I missing one?
This is the best comment section on UA-cam
0:12 Never, EVER, cut a deal with a dragon.
@Kat Murphy It's a Shadowrun reference.
