I've often stressed the same thing myself when people create these artificial, man-made categories and try to make reality fit them. Not only does this not accuracy explain how people learn, but education pedagogy oversimplifies what Bloom said to begin with. All categories are arbitrary, human creations. They do not reflect reality. I enjoyed this interview. I found myself laughing throughout.
neil is a super rigid thinker. this is why he did well in school and can talk science facts all day. he can hear something, re-gurgitate it, and recite it. most scientists are rigid thinkers (although neil is not a practicing scientist). very few of them are willing to imagine the things they might not have been taught. this is what defines the great ones like Feynman, Heisenberg, Gell Mann, Schwinger, etc.
what have those scientists you mentioned at the end done? Cause I can appreciate learning that there are scientists that can understand & utilize our Earth science, but also have the honest & open mind to understand we don't fully understand the universal laws of our own universe.

“Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity.”
― Horace Mann
This is actually a good example of there are no stupid questions. You can really answer any question with some level of serious contemplation and i think there is some fun to be had in that.
Theo is a legend
I think this is the first NDT video that I've been able to watch all the way through without being disgusted.
Bravo Theo!
Your sad😢

Not sad. Only sad when watching that guy.
Aliens coming to earth and acting like humans could be a good starting point for a movie

I feel like this is Neil’s favorite interview he ever did
Can we take a second to appreciate your two options at the end
“Say science is closed that day” 💀
I love how he takes him seriously even though he has no reason to
Theo is a troll and Neil has an answer for everything 😂
Theo and Neil are my new favorite thing
Theo and Neil handle each other well and with respect.
If aliens came to earth I think artists would have the highest chance of understanding them
why?
One guy acting dumb interviewing another guy acting smart
Yah, I don't think you'd need bits of aluminium and a few rocks, to help aliens communicate... I think they'd figure that out pretty quickly, if not beforehand.
Plus, why is taking them to the Whitehouse such a bad idea? We don't want them thinking we have any intelligence or for us to seem threatening. 😅

once Neil said space isn't gay or straight, it's on a spectrum. I was waiting for Theo to respond with "it's autistic"
I've often stressed the same thing myself when people create these artificial, man-made categories and try to make reality fit them. Education, for example, likes Bloom's taxonomy or hierarchy for learning. Not only does this not accuracy explain how people learn, but education pedagogy oversimplifies what Bloom said to begin with. All categories are arbitrary, human creations. They do not reflect reality. I enjoyed this interview. I found myself laughing throughout.
“Be ashamed to die until you have scored some victory for humanity”
That’s a BAR.
neil is a super rigid thinker. this is why he did well in school and can talk science facts all day. he can hear something, re-gurgitate it, and recite it. most scientists are rigid thinkers (although neil is not a practicing scientist). very few of them are willing to imagine the things they might not have been taught. this is what defines the great ones like Feynman, Heisenberg, Gell Mann, Schwinger, etc.
what have those scientists you mentioned at the end done? Cause I can appreciate learning that there are scientists that can understand & utilize our Earth science, but also have the honest & open mind to understand we don't fully understand the universal laws of our own universe.
@@CHIM3RA. Feynman= Father of QED, Feynman diagrams to understand particle interactions. Gell-mann: Discovered the Quark. Helped define the standard model. Do your research
@@profshrooms Didn't expect such a long waited reply, yes I have since researched them and appreciate each one of their very intellectually gifted minds. Thanks for introducing them to me. 👌
Neil can’t handle it
Neil the king of explaining shit for no reason
The most brilliant, insightful, and thought-provoking man in the world...and some guy named Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Theo and Neil please collaborate fulltime!!!!! Please!!!! Its just screaming "good idea". It'd be so fun watching people deal with being interviewed by these two at the same time, which would have to be such a strange confusing experience.
“Maybe I’m just gay for space”…😅
“So it’s bi” 😂
NDT has the most unorganized laugh
That last quote from Neil was absolutely terrifying low key hard tho
Shout out to Neil for playing ball! That dude knows the science of comedy 😂😂
Imagine if the aliens we theorize about are originally from earth and we are just observing them patrolling their space.
Humans from the future going on a field trip back in time to see how they got there
"So it's bi" hahahahah
2:32 Paul😂😂😂😂
I could listen to these two all day.
