  • In bug out bag #3, we talk about shelter. Pretty much any thing, for shelter is better than being exposed to the elements, in harsh conditions.

Yes, shelter is the 3 hour of the rule of 3's. I carry a 6' X 8' tarp in all of my survival bags and with a little Bushcraft and paracord a multitude of shelters can be erected in a very short time frame.
Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next installment in this series.

fire, shelter, water are always my first priorities. shelters are easy if you are prepared. even if you aren't, knowing how to make quick ones can save your life

Hello ... Yes shelter is important especially in heat , cold and avoid getting wet and cold. Of CouRse includes clothing too. A box contractor bags can go a long for some with family/friends/room mates from emergency poucho, water proof a roof better and with 2 make a tube tent :) Just to add to the space blanket yes close enough but without directly touching the skin. I did try one in sub zero conditions on a walk. Someone can "bushcraft" up a shelter from the landscape, but this may take valuable energy and time in doing so. Something like a snow fort(quinzhee) can take quite a bit of energy and time(wait for it to settle too)
