the first time i heard this song. i was 23 years old. high as fuck on cocaine walking around Salt Lake City. I walked into a britpop club night and as the club closed the dj through on this song. I had never heard anything like it. From this i discovered Ride, Slowdive, Medicine, Sonic Youth, Catherine Wheel and so many others that added so much beauty to my life. Glad to see them at it again.
I have to say. I saw RIDE in Boston a few years ago, and this has always been my favorite song. And I don't mean my favorite Ride song, i mean my favorite song of all time and I listen to tons of stuff. So they are playing on the reunion tour and hit Boston and I'm a little bumded that the crowd isnt bigger and I listened to vapour trail seriously more then 1,000 times and now for the first time i am watching them play this song live and I swear I am overscome with emotion. I can't help that Tears are just streaming down my face. maybe the most emotional moment Ive ever had just over this song.
I don't think I ever expected to hear Ride on KEXP. I didn't even know they were still making music. This really takes me back, thanks for the memories :) :) :)
First you look so strong Then you fade away The sun will blind my eyes I love you anyway Thirsty for your smile I watch you for a while You are a vapour trail In a deep blue sky Tremble with a sigh Glitter in your eye You seem to come and go I never seem to know And all my time Is yours as much as mine We never have enough Time to show our love
I'm Happy that this video found me. I feel lucky, because it's like almost like being at the concert! What a Great Song and band. This is one of those songs that transcends Time!
A friend introduced me to her friend in a bar years ago. We'd been chatting for a while when I asked him what he did. He said he'd been in a band called Ride. "Oh, are you Mark Gardener?!" "Yes." He was very nice about it. And I was able to tell him I love this song.

@David Lyon thanks! Been clean since 08' life is good
One of those moments
Is that club still around ?
Quite simply one of the finest indie songs ever written. Period.
one of the finest songs. period
This was my wedding song, I couldn't thing of anything more beautiful. thanks man!
Rob Fairlie that's fucking brilliant!
Lol
I luv this ❤️ song
he doesn't sound like a 45 year old man, he still sounds like he sounded in the 90's
he looks about fucking 79
zootsanchez lol who cares he can still sing
He does sound better than ever
He sounds like he has a bit more range here than he did on the album, which is good.
Weak vocals was a part of his charm. He sounds trembling.
This live version is unbelievably good.
One of the best songs ever.
One of my favourite tracks ever :)
Brilliant... a personal favorite of mine too! ❤️
Unbelievable how his voice his held up over the years..
This is my favourite song. I remember when this first came out. Ride was EVERYTHING in the very early 90s
Amazing! Would be greatest thing ever with that cello on top...
Even acoustic, Ride are psychadelic

Ride and other like-minded bands from that time enriched my life when I needed it the most.

A buried treasure-type band from that era was called Swell. They were from San Francisco. A pure vibe that still resonates in 2022.

This song and Sennen are classics.
私が19歳くらいの時にこの曲と出逢って、いまだに聴いてますよ❤

Shoegazing Forever. You were and still are my fave band. Much love.
Utterly gorgeous version
First you look so strong
Then you fade away
The sun will blind my eyes
I love you anyway
Thirsty for your smile
I watch you for a while
You are a vapour trail
In a deep blue sky
Tremble with a sigh
Glitter in your eye
You seem to come and go
I never seem to know
And all my time
Is yours as much as mine
We never have enough
Time to show our love

It's one of the best songs ever written. It sounds beautiful acoustically, as it does with added electric. No way to make this song sound bad.
