  • Footage taken today at the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Preserved Railway at the Autumn Steam Gala
The 2 foot gauge railway was originally built in 1919 to carry sand from the quarries around the town to the transfers sidings on the standard gauge Leighton Buzzard to Dunstable branch
The gala featured all working locos (including the 1877 De Winton built vertical boiler loco 'Chaloner') hauling both passenger and freight trains
Thank you for watching. Please look out for part 1 if you missed it

I'm fairly confident that the health and safety executive would be very unhappy with the coupling guy putting his boot on the coupling to ensure accurate coupling while the engine was still moving. Obviously this might have been common practice but even a narrow gauge loco could decapitate or crush a slipped foot. This is by no means a criticism or complaint, I simply feel that this looks bad however experienced the staff may be.
