I met Adam years ago.at an open air car show.Danson park.Bexley..he had a nice little Roller.I was surprised how small he was..I done a karaoke what do you want,and even plenty of youngsters knew the song.RIP Adam.
jackal. Yea,..I saw Adam Faith in Ealing Broadway, West London about 20 years ago. I still remember it well. I was waiting to cross the road at the traffic lights when I saw this Silver Shadow Convertible Rolls Royce come around the corner, the roof was down and little Adam Faith was driving, there was nobody else with him. I don't like he's style of singing though and only ever liked him in the 70's TV series 'Budgie'.

Old Bruce would have tried anything to increase his profile, Adam faith was probably the most successful pop artist in the UK when this was broadcast or join biggest with cliff richard. Whereas Bruce was on TV for 5 minutes comparing a show once a week for a season of the show.
I thought that this should only once again make me imagine just how incomprehensible to me it is that a personality cult's allure is so poweful, if properly promoted, that it can hide the worshipped object's vastly inferior talent from an audience's eyes and ears, even when it's on display for all to see, not hidden in a studio, within a record, and loaned its talent by the unknown studio enginneers; and, that again, how resentful I'd become if I were one of the unapplauded musician's, creating the sound, yet was still invisible to everybody, my music being lower than the star's monotone, no matter how loudly I played; especially if I were in the pits, playing a violin. But then, Forsyth appeared, with his moves, his effortless comic demeanour, and more pleasant voice, and it was all re-emphasised for me. This adoration of youth for youth's sake,, even if whatever potential merits it may have unseen by me are visible to others, is so strong that when Brucie and Sammy Davis Jr. staged that incredible gun-twirling and dacing act together, years later, I think too, at the London Palladium, not a single female shriek was heard. Is it because they are imagining having sex with the youth, is that all that's necessary ?
Agreed Tony! But they were part of the 7 and without them being there they'd only be the JB 4 and without John Barry Prendergast himself! Bet their mic didn't even have a lead attached! Regards, Mike

I was 14 at the time and Adam was one of our 'idols', along with The Shadows and Dusty. Many years later, we became very close friends with John Worsley (aka Johnny Worth and Les Vandyke) who wrote all the early Adam No1's, along with hits for many other artists like Eden Kane. He died around 18 months ago in Consett. Regrettably never saw Adam 'live'.
Hi Tony. 'Be Mine' wasn't one of John's compositions - I believe it was written by the late Trevor Peacock, of 'No, No, No, No - Yes' fame in The Vicar Of Dibley. Trevor wrote quite a number of very successful songs. Sadly, by the time I got round to asking for an interview,= he had advancing Alzheimer's, so it never happened.
The early hits of Adam Faith were by today’s standards mediocre. However, Adam Faith back in 1960, represented something new, and although the quality of his singing left a lot to be desired, indeed his nasal tones and his occasional flat notes, were over overlooked because his hit songs from 1960 to 1963 were tuneful and easy to listen to. With the rise of the Beatles and other Mersey groups, Adam Faith was wise enough to change the type of songs he had been recording, and introduce a more dynamic dimension. His two top 20 hits, ‘The First Time’ and ‘We are in love,’ were in my humble view his best ever recordings. But Adam, before he went into acting, recorded a ballad ‘Message to Martha’ which also reached the top 20. Adam Faith was a ‘show biz survivor’ as he realised that acting was the next logical step as he couldn’t go on forever being a pop hero.

I loved Adam in my youth I'm now 74 I keep playing message to Martha it's lovey he wernt a healthy lad I heard he died from kidney or heart failure x
