Hi Ty, This is an excellent, well thought-out and balanced review, which informed me a lot about this game. Based on this, I'm going to try and get hold of a copy! Many thanks!
A balanced and fair review, which rightly points out the strengths and "weaknesses" of The Greatest Day (TGD). There truly is a huge amount of gaming value to be had out of the box. The GTS system is very exciting and interactive to play. However, I strongly agree that TGD feels like it was released a bit prematurely, and your comments about the rules are spot on. The beach landings add a lot of exclusive rules, some of which are not explained as clearly as they could be, giving rise to a lot of Q&A, and some bizarre results (e.g. the Drift rule). This is compounded by the lack of a separate v2 GTS rulebook, which is frustrating because in many ways the v2 revisions simplify the system (e.g. the Assault procedure). Taken together, this makes it harder to learn than other GTS games. Of course, all will be remedied when updated rulebooks are released, but until then, anyone coming new to the system through TGD might be discouraged, which would be a very great shame indeed! I very much look forward to playing Omaha and Utah with updated rules.
Excellent presentation, thank you Ty.

Thanks for that. Played the game a few weeks ago. Still outstanding!
My copy just arrived today; I'm a little late to the party...
Ty this is a great video. Really sold me on GTS and The Greatest Day. Thanks.
Thanks man. There's a good game in there especially if you want to go deep with D-Day.
