Pure brilliance this technique. Am practising constantly. What i love about it is that even if you miss you are still protected and in a perfect position to step in and do an upwards elbow strike to your opponent's chin. I am in your debt Master Wong. Thank you.
In my opinion, that elbow blocking clip was the BEST part of the Ip man vs Tyson fight scene, I can't help but laugh at how cool it was every time I watch that fight 💪🏾💪🏾👊🏾👊🏾🤣🤣

great videos and great advice on learning how to defend yourself. I like Wing chun and I'm learning it little by little. This is the best channel for learning wing chun and its the only channel I go to. Mr Wong is the truth word up. Keep the good videos coming 👍
When I watched the movie and saw Ip man using his elbows to break Mike Tyson's fingers, i immediately thought of that Master Wong's lesson he posted awhile ago. Master Wong has got good moves sometimes!!
I haven't tried your online courses, but I did a little training with one of your students, and I do have to say, the speed I was learning was insane. I have tried out plenty of martial arts, and i feel like I got further in those few lessons than I ever did with training other martial arts... My wing chun training was only 6-8 lessons or something like that, unfortunately I did have to stop, but if I can ever get back into martial arts I definitely want to be training Wing Chun and JKD again.
That's fantastic to hear! I'm glad you had such a positive experience with our training. Wing Chun and JKD are indeed powerful martial arts disciplines that can transform your approach to self-defense. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Whenever you're ready to resume your training, our online courses will be here to support you every step of the way. Keep that determination alive, and you'll achieve great things. Train hard, live clean, and not let anyone bully you
Brilliant timing and techniques! You make it look easy! I love to go on one of your courses. I would have to rethink my shotokan karate defence against a boxer. Great video.
@Mark Lowe it actually can break if there lucky useally shatters the whole wrist, I used to drink and use that as a reason to get into fights had a few drinking buddies where we get drunk and well sometimes us guys faught over pointless shit taken a few beatings dished out many more once I learned how dangerious a elbow to a fist is on a night where some guy claimed he was a golden glove boxer right after he said that i stood in a way to deffend myself right then and there (knew something was about to happen sure enough after he said that he came towards me fists raised) every time he punched because he was 18 i was like 20 i didn't want to badly hurt him he was way over his head, every time he punched i threw my elbow as fast as i could just like mr. wong shows it trully shattered both wrist's of the guy the next week when all of us gathered at are drinking spot he asked me to sign his cast's and said no ones ever shattered his hand let alone wrist before what did i do? i took him aside so no one else could hear and told him he didn't want to believe a elbow could do that and claimed i moved to fast for him to see exactly what i did so he still doesn't fully believe but tried and true it actually is the moment you see the shoulder move for a punch if you react always faster to throw a elbow like this then any punch, elbow hits the hand idea is you step back so where the head used to be the elbow now goes.....
@@antlerr I use elbow in training a lot but it's never been to block only strike. Need to practice this one. Shoulders are exactly what I watch too. Mainly Wing Chun with mix of boxing. Mostly blind side moves. Lomochenko like.
@@marklowe7431 do you ever pressure test your training example have a friendly live spare fight with someone you trust not to kill you but not just stand around like a dojo dummy? to just practice honestly isn't enough, i had a friend we used to smoke weed then have a sparring match one day he had a bow staff with him i trained with using one never actually practiced deffence against one so i told him if he wanted we can do one with that, he agreed and to be fair let me use it first (nice guy i taught him a few of my shoalin style staff work he taught me his copera) he never seen a 360 spin with the staf before at waist high followed in the exact same momentum made spin 360 again but so fluidly with even further reach go for the legs even as he jumped over it, ended by me slamming the staff down just infront of him with a mercy stopped distance, (he felt the wind and was white as a ghost) when he had the staff we both where surprised how well i could move in even though he had reach i had bare knuckles, a different day out of no where he did a flying knee my reaction was jump up and use my hands to distrupt the force of his knee even if he connects i had to slow its force down, something i have practiced but that day actually got to see if it worked or not...

As i was taught by one of my older brothers who had been training in shobu kai ( narrow stance aggressive version of Shotokan) he said: fist is weaker than palm heel, palm heel is weaker than elbow, elbow is weaker than shoulder! Man i love elbows. But i still have a hell of a lot of training, conditioning and learning! Also my homemade speed ball which is a tennis ball with a rope going through the ball to the timber rafter then down to floor anchor! Great for accuracy.
Train hard. Live clean; don't let anyone bully you! Master Wong here. Your older brother's got some wise words there, my friend. In my philosophy, the fist is like a humble servant, and the palm heel is its sharp cousin, ready to deliver more power. But the elbow, oh, it's like a thunderbolt, and the shoulder is the unstoppable force behind it all. You've got the right attitude, training, and conditioning are essential. As for your homemade speed ball, that's resourcefulness right there! Accuracy is key, my friend. Now, let's talk about WuDe virtues. Two that I hold dear are respect and perseverance. They're like twin dragons that guide personal growth and self-awareness. Respect for yourself and others cultivates discipline and honor. Perseverance keeps you going when the going gets tough. Remember, the way you do anything is the way you do everything. Train with respect and perseverance, and you'll become a force to be reckoned with. Speaking of forces, situational awareness is crucial in martial arts. Quick evaluation of circumstances helps you adapt and make split-second decisions. Stay focused, my friend, and keep your senses sharp. This skill can save you on the streets or in the ring. Now, if you're ready to take your training to the next level this summer, I've got just the solution for you. Wing Chun Mastery: The Ultimate Solo Training program. Dear Master Wong, its amazing watching your videos. But I couldn't find any video how to defend and attack kyokeshen karate. Could you please make one where defending and attacking a karate guy is illustrated in your way?
I'm a big fan I'm teaching my own classes I teach a okinawan based karate I also mix several other forms in how could I use some more of your more fluid attacks from stances that I use as in Kami
You develop very interesting concepts, with great simplicity, but first and foremost, you're a great entertainer, so your students never get tired and want to keep on learning with you. It would be nice to see you more relaxed, playing with kittens and such, because I think people need to see your gentle side, so they don't get any wrong ideas of how a proper man should behave, because you're not only fierce, which is self evident, but I also have no doubt you have a good heart, and if people stopped associating good hearts with weakness, perhaps they would stop attacking other people. The only purpose of strength is to protect the weak.
Master wong you are brilliant sir. I learned a lot and admire your energy. I have a leg disability. And am small. So your techniques may be very helpful if i get challenged. Thank you
Wong has the speed, form, and SNAP of a true master. Snap isn't just force, but timing too. And not just your own timing, but the timing of your opponent too! Very subtle but definite sign of someone who is comfortable in what they do. You see someone with snap and form like this, and I don't care who you are. You're in trouble.
im good enough to take on 2 people that are bullies just by watching and practicing i hope you get hope from this and im not boasting im giving an example
I like how you make it fun but still serious .....I'm looking into getting kids involved into wingchun he in Vegas ....do you think for a 34 year old man is to late to get into wingchun..... there's some good studios here I've been looking at .... if I missed spelled his name sorry Loman wing Chun is very popular here... any suggestions on a good schools that you may know here in Vegas if any
Master Wong; i was wondering why you use no hand trapping for boxers. Like you said; take away the weapon. Whenever i have sparred with boxers i always trap their hands, alternating between arms and sweep the leg if it arises. Is this in your opinion not a good idea?
Hey, but how do you plan your elbows? Do you try to hit the boxers fists or you just cover your face (punch area) with your elbow as fast as you can when you see the punch coming?
Master Wong, do you have any advise on defending against an opponent that is wearing a motorcycle crash helmet? Would you just attack the body or can you do anything else?
Dear Sifu Wong. In this Video i found an answer that i was searching for. What about the Boxers legs? The Boxer is standing on his forward food so his whole weight is on this leg. I almost thought that i could use some footwork to make him fall ? Thank you for those phantastic training films and for your clear pronunciation.
master wong I have questions when we block someone punch with elbow, what we can do for minimizing to get injured in elbow? I never do something like this but very interesting then I try it, when I tested with someone it still hurts my elbow neither my partner hands. is need to maintain 90° hand position?
master wong i have watched this video a few times now and i have almost got this down but i find myself panicking at times and missing the timing any tips?
It's hard to see what's next when you have your elbow up, how do you make sure you can see what's next coming in so you can act on it. I love your vids thank you. Also there are uppercuts that can sneak in, how to defend this. You must be able to see these coming, or at least sense it.
I have a question so when i do the elbow i naturally shift my bakK foot lkke im doing a revurse punch you know? Iss tht good? I feel lkke i have a stronger blokK when i shift the bakK leg to where my toes are facing the apponent and my heel iss off the ground
master Wong, how do you get the elbow to connect though, that's my issue. What's to say the opponent will go for it? or is it more so that you're the reactive one, and block with the elbow?
Mike Tyson actually broke his finger filming that fight scene. Now I can see why lol

Thank you
Ok cool keep trainings
can chum kiu be used in offense as well as defence in your system?
+Timothy Freeman yes it can!
Thank you Master Wong.
Love your videos man, useful and entertaining, thank you sir!!
You are a very clean fighter and it makes it easier to learn : )!!!!
A real martial artist! I sure love your intensity. I'm a born again Christian --- Jesus needs warriors, too... God bless you, sir.
master wong would u make mma video for competition side instead of street fight
really great master Wong!
Very good I like this I played it in slow motion at slowest setting and you look and sound even more brutal with he elbow attacks and hand cracking
Your link to the course is not working.
I just subscribed. I love your channel, and I need more help than most. I know nothing about self defense, but I want to learn
i have a qustion what to do when a boxer hits not in the face but down in body?
Thanks so much for this!
I love this guy, and I lol everytime he says "this is a problem"
master Wong, can I train by watching your video's and is it to get started?
im good enough to take on 2 people that are bullies just by watching and practicing i hope you get hope from this and im not boasting im giving an example
I like how you make it fun but still serious .....I'm looking into getting kids involved into wingchun he in Vegas ....do you think for a 34 year old man is to late to get into wingchun..... there's some good studios here I've been looking at .... if I missed spelled his name sorry Loman wing Chun is very popular here... any suggestions on a good schools that you may know here in Vegas if any
u r explanation is really good sir
mr wong, wing chun vs boxing which one will take less time to become expert
Do you teach the qigong in your Wing Chun courses?
Master Wong; i was wondering why you use no hand trapping for boxers. Like you said; take away the weapon. Whenever i have sparred with boxers i always trap their hands, alternating between arms and sweep the leg if it arises. Is this in your opinion not a good idea?
Hey, but how do you plan your elbows? Do you try to hit the boxers fists or you just cover your face (punch area) with your elbow as fast as you can when you see the punch coming?
+Wing Chun Tai Chi JKD - Master Wong How did u developed that ridiculous speed ??What contributes the most to move and punch that fast ???
Very helpful video thank you master wong
Great video master Wong super technique...but how to practice this can I practice it with my friend

Master Wong, the only guy I have ever seen whose sentences are composed more of onomatopoeia than actually words. lol He's like a living comic book.

+Varun Pathak no idea.... would be an awesome experience
+Wing Chun Tai Chi JKD - Master Wong You would be awesome in movies master Wong or as a fight cordinator.
+Wing Chun Tai Chi JKD - Master Wong And when it coms to movies you have your own stunt team which is your students.
+Varun Pathak because they dont need him.
+Varun Pathak I was going to say I would love to see Master Wong have a match with Donnie Yen.
master wong will you happen to come Singapore?
Master Wong, do you have any advise on defending against an opponent that is wearing a motorcycle crash helmet? Would you just attack the body or can you do anything else?
Dear Sifu Wong. In this Video i found an answer that i was searching for. What about the Boxers legs? The Boxer is standing on his forward food so his whole weight is on this leg. I almost thought that i could use some footwork to make him fall ?
Thank you for those phantastic training films and for your clear pronunciation.
Hi master please tell me how to practice wing chun without wooden dummy

love your videos Master. I want to ask the best way to protect from low blows (the private parts).
any hit down below is fight over.
Strengthen your knees and do it fast when they're going for low blows.
Bascially the same as elbows.
master wong I have questions when we block someone punch with elbow, what we can do for minimizing to get injured in elbow? I never do something like this but very interesting then I try it, when I tested with someone it still hurts my elbow neither my partner hands.
is need to maintain 90° hand position?
master wong i have watched this video a few times now and i have almost got this down but i find myself panicking at times and missing the timing any tips?

+weirdape Thank you!
This is a good video if you are fighting a boxer...how to fight a good kicker or a muay thai fighter? Pls upload a video for this :)
As the time I see Ip Man use elbow to break Mike Tyson fist, I think of you immediately....
Are you blocking the same side or opposite side and does it matter what stance you are in and what about quick in and out jabs or cross punches
Elier' Maxwell have a look at this video the follow-up Will answer your question ua-cam.com/video/7NqcGDyx050/v-deo.html
Wing Chun Tai Chi JKD - Master Wong thank you sir
It's hard to see what's next when you have your elbow up, how do you make sure you can see what's next coming in so you can act on it. I love your vids thank you. Also there are uppercuts that can sneak in, how to defend this. You must be able to see these coming, or at least sense it.
Master Wong you´re badass,i am mixing my Jiu Jitsu with all the moves you are teaching to make a better self-defense.
Vítor Leandro good for you keep practice 👊👊👊👊👍
Vítor Leandro same. I am mixing it with my judo.
Noah Mortach good buddy,i started Muay Thai too
Vítor Leandro hahaha you goanna be invincible!
Noah Mortach haha not that much, although i'm trying to learn as much as i can.
What movie is that 'ip man" what part?
I have a question so when i do the elbow i naturally shift my bakK foot lkke im doing a revurse punch you know? Iss tht good? I feel lkke i have a stronger blokK when i shift the bakK leg to where my toes are facing the apponent and my heel iss off the ground
master Wong, how do you get the elbow to connect though, that's my issue. What's to say the opponent will go for it? or is it more so that you're the reactive one, and block with the elbow?
You block with the elbow. No one would ever go for your elbow on purpose.
Master Wong, Well Done ! This is a lot of information in one video. Thank you
