Discussion about Emperor's Armor and Equipment.
The One True Armour is a suit of Power Armour commonly seen worn by the Emperor during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.
Always depicted as golden, after his wounding by Horus during the Siege of Terra it is said that the Emperor's armour was removed and melted down at his own order in order to create badges to honour the Imperial Fists Terminators that had fought beside him.
The Emperor's Sword is a giant flame-covered blade that the Emperor created by using both his mastery of science and Warpcraft.
Due to the nature of its creation, the Sword is anathema to the forces of Chaos and only the most powerful of Daemons can resist being destroyed by its mere touch.
The Emperor's Lightning Claw is an as of yet unnamed Lightning Claw that was usually seen on the Emperor's left hand during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.
The Emperor's Bolter was a as-of-yet unnamed Boltgun which was a personal weapon of the Emperor. One of the very first Boltguns, it was a progenitor all for its kind.
The Emperor's Shield was once the personal shield of the Emperor, but it is now being wielded by the reborn Primarch Lion El'Jonson in M42.
The Apollonian Spear was crafted alongside its sister the Dionysian Spear by the Emperor's own hand, deep inside his first underground fortress on Terra during the Age of Strife.

unfortunately.
At this point I assume the emperor's gear shrinks to the size of the Person using it. So yeah if he ever came back and took the sword and the shield the shield would become his tilter plate and the sword would become gigantic
Looks cool! Also, the little lady at the end card of the teaser looks like Shy. I wonder if we’ll get to know her better through her art in this game.

Don't worry Trazen the forgfarther will happily give you the spear.
Through your chest.
Russ: Why won't this fucking SPEAR leave me alone!!!
Russ really didn't like his spear, but it was a gift from the Emperor so he had to keep it around, even if he sometimes drove his bodyguards in despair by leaving it laying around and then forgetting where he put it.
Also, in Wolf's Honour, we learn that he once got really drunk, tried to throw his spear to moon and his Wolf Guard spent days tracking where it landed.
True, but Russ has been Hanging on a tree for ten thousand years. He's had a bit of time to reflect.
This is why he has to get the spear when he comes back. Imagine trying your hardest to get rid of it and yet your sons keep bringing it back to you. You start by forgetting it in meetings and eventually escalate to throwing it at the moon in a drunken rage. Yet each time it returns to you. You disappear on a mission to hunt down your brother for 10,000 years. When you eventually return your sons present you with that damn spear, only now they revere it as a holy artifact. I think Russ will turn around and head right back into the warp.
I love that they don't entertain the possibility of Russ just straight up being like “Hey Vulcan. Your legion uses a lot of weapons, especially spears right? Why don't you take this instead of me." And he just gives him the spear.
The thing about the spear started out as a joke in the Space Wolf novels and then got pretty sad with the Horus Heresy series.
The original lore was "haha Russ doesn't like spears" basically. Now it's "this damn thing is a constant reminder of his failure to stop Horus when he had the chance."
Lost an eye and knows rune magic ....
A tilt shield is for jousting, as the knights charging eachother is called tilting
Or as they say in don Quixote. Is tilting at windmills
fun fact : in later eras the tilting shield was often brightly colored to deliberately give the other guy a clearer target
that might sound weird, but you didn't actually wanna die in a joust, so you want that impact on the shoulder as opposed to square in the chest or head.
Is that why it is called "going full tilt"?
@johnoneil9188 Yep, "full tilt" refers to them doing full speed runs, instead of slower practice runs
@@petriew2018 yeah, it's also placed there specifically to prevent the lance from catching in the joint between the chest and shoulder plates and tearing your arm off.

They gave Guilleman, the master of the pen, the emperors sword.
They gave the Lion, master of the sword, the emperors shield.
I believe they will give Dorn, the master of defense, the emperors claw.
They will give Corax, the mast of stealth, the emperors bolter.

I had this idea instead of fernus it's the AI from the spyder construct that took over the body and posing as Fernus but as time goes on he accepts his role as both primarch and father of the iron hands to help the imperium as he sees how much of a mess it became in the absence of proper management.
Implying Dorn wouldn't come back full melee, unhinged, angry, and crusading with Siggy's boys the Black Templars
So he would be purging with his kin?

I imagine Dron in anger management classes taught by the Dark Templars.

No, he comes back in Centurion armour and wants to punch every Sigismund in the face.
This 100%. It makes no sense for him to go back to the imperial fists, they’re a successor chapter. The Black Templars have the best claim being one of the only second founding chapters that haven’t been reconstituted and existed during the great crusade in pretty much their current form.
Could you imagine how horrifying it would be for chaos to look over a sea of black and white power armour and to see a pillar of gold rushing forwards to unmake them.
The Emperor made all kinds of gear. I seem to recall an image of Big E wielding an axe, but can't find the image. Maybe my mind made it up and I've convinced myself it was an official bit of artwork.
It's GW, they'll probably pull some sort of gear that has never had any lore or artwork before out of their collective asses. Suddenly there'll be the Emperor's big rig, the Emperor's rat rod, the Emperor's luxury yacht, the Emperor's fighter jet, the Emperor's compass, the Emperor's heat seeking throwing axe, the Emperor's magic wand, the Emperor's stash of adult videos, the Emperor's big box of girly mags, the Emperor's AK, the Emperor's collection of first pressing of vinyl records, the Emperor's comic book collection, the Emperor's chest full of action figures.
My bet, the next primarch will be sent on a vision quest to Terra. Ends up finding some long forgotten vault full of stuff.
The Emporor's Storage Container
Trazyn has all of it.
@@alongfortheride1016 I like to think it's Big E's old storage container that he lost the key too. And I mean the modern Storage container that looks like a garage.
I believe the Crux Terminatus containing a tiny amount of the Emperor's armour may be reference to medals like the Victoria Cross being made out of enemy cannons captured in battle in the 19th century mixed with the idea of religious relics like someone having a splinter of the True Cross or the knuckle bone of a saint.
What IF they DO lay Emp's cape over Sanguinius' tomb and it revives him and heals him like some kind of fancy ass Golden Fleece?
Then the Emperor is an even worse ruler and dad than we thought because he decided to ALSO keep the super amazing Jesus cape from his sons and allies.
@@Pragabond that's the least evil thing he's done so far tbh
Yeah, but knowing Big E's shenanigans it would probably bring him back as a true vampire or some other fucked up stuff
Sold.
@@Pragabondit would just be the emperor using his cloak as a conduit to reseal the red and black angels into sanguineous. Doing so would likely kill or greatly weaken both the sanguinour and mephiston, the current hosts for both.
For the crux terminatus, I always thought of it like how many "pieces of the true cross" were floating around during the Medieval times. Most of them likely aren't real pieces of the armor, but are held in reverence regardless.
The Amount of True Splinters of the Cross would be enough to remade Noah's Ark
I always thought it function like a fraction of a fleck of gold. If his armor was truly pulverized into powder and then put into every crux terminatus it means that each and every one of them can only have a tiny little microscopic flake of golden armor. But what isn't a lot?But given the faith of a space marine is more than enough
Assuming the shard is about the size of a penny it would make perfect sense. There are about a thousand chapters who have 10-100 terminators ideally. That being their first company. That gets us a number of termies around 10 000 for the entire imperium. An armor the size of the emperors would be enough to supply around 800 000 such shards. That's a conservative estimate.
@@falsebeliever8079 That's assuming none of them are lost.
@@Gustav_Kuriga Good point, we *know* many are lost. The imperium will have to have lost their entire terminus honor stock 80 times to deplete the armor. Also, the average I gave per chapter was taking into account fringe cases like Dark Angels and Grey Knights having more than usual, and some chapters having none.
That idea of Ferrus Manus receiving the Iron Halo and his face being a projection from the glow reminds me so much of ULTRAKILL's Sissyphus Prime
It’s a really cool idea, but how would it work as a model kit?
@@Waffle_Spaghetti
I dunno, that's up to GW, it would probably be a solid piece but you would paint it to look like a glowing light (something like Warhammer Fantasy's magic details)
@@davisdf3064 That’s definitely fair, but I was more curious how they’d handle having the effect of a head/skull being there without just having a solid piece to paint like it’s translucent.

To be fair about the spear of Russ, I am coincidentally just reading Wolfsbane right now, and Russ absolutely despises the spear. He hates it with all his might, he cannot stand holding it, he cannot stand looking at it, and he's really depressed about how it always comes back to him whenever he tries to loose it.
TLDR: if anyone tried to call dibs on the spear Russ would be delighted to never see that shit again.
This is exactly why they need to give it to him when he comes back. He may just burn the imperium himself in his annoyance.
@@am-oz3suI hope that when Russ comes back he has gone full Odin. No longer a man who desires glory in battle, but one tempered with wisdom gained through reflecting on his failures. Missing an eye like Magnus after learning how to use his own psyker powers. Wielding the spear he once hated to carry proudly.
I also want his first words when he comes back to be "Henceforth my legion will be known as the 'Cringe Wolves' because it turns out wolves are lame and edgy."
Well, it's possible that Russ could be changed upon his return, kinda like Lion. Instead of being disgusted by the spear, he wields it proudly in honour of his father
Idea: The cape of the Emperor draped over a Contemptor Dreadnought containing the remains of Rogal Dorn
If Dorn comes back I want him to focus on trying to make the empire tolerable to live in. I think it would be interesting especially with his whole fortify thing, I'd like to see a mindset along the lines of what is the point in fortifying if there is nothing worth fortifying. I don't think it'd be possible but I think it would be neat to see him struggle against the cruelty of the empire

14:36 A tilt shield was a shield for tilting, a form of jousting in which a knight aimed their lance to go through a metal ring. Its purpose generally was additional protection for the armpit, one of the hardest parts of the body to armor without impinging on mobility. A lance blow aimed at the armpit would skid off a tilt shield, rather than under and potentially up into the armpit, which while still armored, could not be armored in plate and would usually only have mail.

Sanguinius is coming back for sure because his death was important. After all, that was supposed to be what invigorates the Emperor to kill Horus but they retconned it in the End and the Death. Sanguinus just needed to die because the timeline needed to be preserved and he died, so he can now come back.
With regards to the Emperor's bolter, it would make sense that he would have improved it in his downtime to be reforged with Auramite and be able to fire psychic bullets (most likely powered by unbridled hypocrisy and parental disappointment) that can permanently-kill warp entities.
I also want to see the ivory face and talon holding a white flame on his right pauldron be a primary relic. Maybe it could be a psychic device that could leech the souls and warp energy from enemies, purify it, and either fire it back to destroy the enemy or redirect it to heal and invigorate allies.
Not sure who would use it, though.
If the Khan doesn't get any Emperor relics, I would want him to have somehow claimed one of the 100 swords of Khaine from Eldar myth, considering he's been in Commorragh for all that time, who knows what they have in there.
With Vulkan, he would either receive divine guidance from the Emperor to make his own Emperor-tier relic, or he would carry the big eagle on the Emperor's back, which would serve as a field-wide morale booster or maybe a psychic teleporter to allow Vulkan to skip the distance between enemies and get into melee. I'm personally hoping for the former, since Vulkan did create the Talisman of Seven Hammers (Deadman switch to the Golden Throne to destroy Terra and any Chaos that might be in the system if it gets overrun) under the Emperor's influence, and the various Artifacts of Vulkan on his own.
Corax could also be a contender for the Emperor's eagle back-crest/totem thing, and it could morph into a magical jump pack that projects holy warp tendrils or something.
People seem to forget the emperors tech is half magic I'm really glad you recognize that. Very good take love the ideas
If we go with the items Guilliman and Lion got, they are aimed more to help them with their weaknesses than boosting their strenghts, so my bet is: Dorn gets the Claw, Khan the Cape or Halo, Russ his Spear, Corax the Bolter, and Vulkan chooses to wield nothing from the emperor because he told Ferrus Manus he never uses anything he has not made himself and also already have his 9 artifacts, but i like the idea of him reforging an armor from something else (maybe a part of Bucephelus or Imperator Somniun, the flagships the emperor used??)
One of the theories I quite like is that the Emperor's gear is supposed to shore up what's lacking in each Primarch, hence why Roboute, the guy not renowned for melee combat, got the sword, while The Lion, someone known for not caring enough for ths people around him, got the shield, and is now working to protect the common man.
Following that logic, I could see Dorn getting the fist to make up for his missing hand, and Corax getting the bolter, for when he needs to go loud.
I'd imagine The Khan gets the cloak, turning him into a patient hunter of sorts.
Ferrus getting the iron halo would fit nicely, though it is a little on the nose - which he no longer has, of course.
Vulkan forging a new hammer from the emperor's armour could be nicely symbolic, showing him coming off of defence and going on the offence.
Sanguinius would need something capable of chaining his spirit in place, allowing him to reappear; no idea what that would entail, but considering what happened in the past, I could see him taking the Golden Throne itself, while Big E buggers off for a while to become the Star Child.
In the older lore there was "The Angel" a proto primarch being basically adolescent Emperor's clone that manifested his powers as flaming wings and fire that burned all chaos. In the end he went mad and had to be imprioned. I imagine Sanguinius could be given his body as his "gift" and to keep Blood Angels tragic they could make it so he now forever in Black Rage, geting respite only when asleep inside the stasis coffin Emperor used to orginalny imprison "The Angel". This stare of Sangy would change BA a bit and would gives dilemma of "maybe we should have let him stay dead". Also it wouldnt take away from Dante who would be like Kharn to Angron was. This or make him into some kind of real vampire lol
Finding the Vengeful Spirit would be the first step to reviving Sanguinous
Okay but, while they say that it'd be a terrible idea to bring the Emperor back, what if they gave him a means of communicating with the outside world, say, some variety of text-to-speech device.
I'd certainly watch a webseries about that...
The hard drive falls on to Conrad curze as black mail
Jaghatai comes back from the Webway with a Cronesword to replace his broken sword from his duel with Mortarion…?
The Emperor's Ultron:
1. Head - Lionell Johnson
2. Torso - Vulkan
3. Right Arm - Roboute Guilliman
4. Left Arm - Rogal Dorn
5. Right Leg - Leman Russ
6. Left Leg - Jagathi Khan
Make it so.
All this talk about fists and their bolters... I think Bricky forgot which legion spawned the Black Templars.
Dorn using the emperor's claw in place of his missing hand and wearing a much darker shade of gold (perhaps so dark as to be mistaken for black?) would not only make narrative sense as the Templars are supposed to represent his barely restrained rage and hatred, but also it would be a fitting way to tie the Templars back into the greater imperial fold after largely being their own thing for 10,000 years (see, The Fallen)
And besides, Dorn going from stoic gun guy to a crazy lunatic leading his Templar sons in a wild melee charge would be an incredibly satisfying foil to Russ who is heavily foreshadowed to do opposite with his return.
Upon their return primarch is gonna be changed and "broken" in some way. Dorn losing his stoisism and letting the veil crack so to speak I think would be a baller fucking twist
The rage of dorn and roubute are the best among the primarchs. The always angry ones kinda like Plateau like angron, leman etc.
The ones who let the rage steep in their souls really rage out
Like imo (headcannon) if angron killed gullimom roboute could 1v1 beat angron to death

Thanks to TTS I can now only imagine Vulcan returning with Russ's "friend" spear.
It's too perfect. He'd think the spear just makes everyone it stabs "friendly" again but really it's just removing chaos's influence.
"Do not worry friends! It is only a little pain! One little poke and you'll be feeling much better, and we will be the BEST OF FRIENDS!!!"
Tell me this isn't CSM's nightmare fuel. XD
I love it
All the primarchs seem to come back broken or changed kinda. So I wonder when Vulcan returns what will be changed. If I remember he died in ork Waggh sauce
Ork Vulcan?
Stupidest idea: Emperor comes back: The Golden Throne has a Dreadnought function.
Best idea
I mean you have to make it into an emperor class titan
@@ShatterAlpha I was more picturing the Imperial Palace itself (AKA all of Qomolangma, AKA Mount Everest) rises on two legs. That's a bit... large for an Emperor-Class titan.

"Murder Mystery meets Dating Sim in a small southwestern town beset by cults & conspiracies. Can you prevent your coffee shop from closing, solve your uncle’s murder and maybe even find love?"
Huh. Interesting. Augury's going on my wishlist then.
I can just picture the Khan bursting out of a webway portal, straddling a kitbashed hoverbike made from Drukhari vehicles with the longest, sickest cloak in the Galaxy - Big E's own crimson shroud - draped around his shoulders like a badass interdimensional ranger.
I will accept no substitutes.
Bricky: "Im gonna skip Ferrus and *Sanguinius*."
The Emperor > Is displeased
The Harddrive goes to Alpharius... Obviously.
"The Emperor was 5 primarchs in a trench coat"
Lesson DK learned today.
The Khan will inherit Big E's Harley Davidson
About the scale issue: Big E has one size: taller than you. Also, what if the Emperor wasn't the first person to make a motorbike, but the first person to buy a motorbike.
I can't believe you forgot the Emperor's previously unmentioned golden thong that nullifies the influence of Slaanesh for when Clone Fulgrim comes back.
Also, Big-E is Bone-E at the moment. You could even say, he’s just a little Bone-E.
Battle-station Dorn slams down in front of his sons & like Aslan:
RIDE ME!
The Khan gets The Emperor's fully restored Vincent Black Shadow.
Dorn gets The Emperor's boot. (To the head).
For the Emperor's shield, I simply go with 2 theories:
A) The Emperor maintained an arsenal of many weapons and armor (like Lion actually did) that included a full-scale shield with his eagle/serpent device on it. This is the one Lion has now inherited. However, whenever the Emperor chose to use a different weapon loadout such as with his sword/claw combo, he still maintained his device on a smaller pauldron tilt shield (that is to say, it's a separate item that is part of his armor and just has the same device on the front - his full scale shield is back in his armory when not using it).
B) There is some magic going on like in the Lord of the Rings opening sequence where we see Isildor take the One Ring after cutting it from Sauron's hand and it magically shrinks to a size Lion can use.
I kind of prefer A, but Lion has some mystical powers now so if it's B... I'm oddly enough ok with that too.
"Sanguinius shouldn't come back."
I mean, The Sanguinor is already a thing.
Quite literally a Blood Angels themed warp entity most likely the equivalent of a daemon prince
@@carsoncasmirri3874 And Corax at this point is basically a giant Raven Daemon, your point?

A really cool thought is uncovering deep deep lore on the emperor and finding something like his first weapon which was some sort of super super primitive hammer or something and it's still resonates with such tremendous spiritual and psychic energy that it's a valid weapon even still they just have to excavate it from some 60,000-year-old tomb
I keep laughing at the idea of Vulkan getting the Emperor's armor. The image of him and his sons going on a galaxy-wide heist to steal everyone's Crux Terminatus badges to reforge the armor again is hilarious to me. XD
12:20 - He's just a little guy ^^
I think I squared the circle. So Dorn can get the bolter, rus his spear, corax his claws, but jhagatai and Vulcan are a bit odd. I think it'd be fun to give the Khan a special Jetbike the emperor pimped out, and Vulcan could just make some special shiny armor or some cool tech, because let's be honest his hammer ain't getting out away it's just too good
Vulkan getting one of the Emperor's other suits of armor makes plenty of sense. A lot of people forget that the One True Armor wasn't the only set he made.
Corax should just take his claws back from Tiberos
I think a neat idea for Sanguinius coming back would be like Saint Celestine as an imperial saint.
I feel like a lot of depictions of 40K Russ gives him an Odin-like motif, so my oddball suggestion is that he should have the Eye of The Emperor, sort of like how Odin had a weird eye that could see the future.
"Would you feel stupid?"
*silence
"Yep."
Everytime I think the Admech Chibi can't flub a quote worse than last time, he goes ahead and proves me wrong.
Thank you for making me feel better about myself 😂
Dorn: Hey, what did dad get you guys?
Bobby G: I got his sword.
The Lion: I got his shield.
The Khan: I GOT THE OLD MAN’S CAR!!!!
Both Perturabo and Dorn should come back as Dreadnaughts so we can have a kaiju mecha fight
So a Russ vs Magnus duel, but never-ending?
Sanguinius gets the emperors laurel wreath that the emperor wears in almost every piece of art
Vulkan: I call dad's hair.
The Khan: Finally I get his bike
My theory: guerrilla man with sword, lion with shield, vulkan with halo, Dorn with claw, khan with bolter, Russ with spear, and corvax with psychic cape. Farsi manus leads the legion of the damned and Sanguinious is revived by some form of possession of the sanguinor similar to Lucious the eternal process.
Maybe this is obvious but give dorn the power claw. Imperial fists, lost a hand, gets a hand. Seems cool.
Why do people want to give Dorn the Claw and not his Gauntlet which would still be huge? Give the Imperial Fist the Imperial Fist! Corax should get the Claw because it's waaayy too huge for a primarch, but maybe a Warped up giant birdman could use it
The Khan gets the Emperors Supercharged Delorean, the last remaining one on Terra.
Bs, that Delorean would be twin charged (super charger and twin-turbos)
The armor didn't have much left after facing Horus. Think burnt, melted, shredded ribbons of metal.
Rogal Dorn comes back as a "Rogal Dorn" tank.
Rogal Dorn needs a new hand...claw. He is also the hand of the emporer. And he is the Iron Fists. This was a clear miss boys 😂
The… the iron fists?
The mechanicus fucked with the geneseed so hard they accidentally dropped a polymerization in a vat containing Imperial Fists and Iron Hands geneseed.
Vulkan doesn't need an artifact of the emperor he's an artificer himself!
Fists are shooty , but at the same time you're trying to make the point the art was dorn with Storms Teeth.
But Melee Dorn is baller
I think that vulcan either comes back with only all of his old relics that he made that are almost on par with some of the emperor's stuff and as a collective are about equal to the sword or shield. Or we are going to discover that the emperor's cloak is made from the salamander that vulcan slayed in their competition.
Dorn gets the lightning claw to replace his lost hand.
Corax gets the bolter which is probably much quieter than a normal bolter or something.
Russ already has his spear which I think he used to learn about himself in his absence.
Vulkan gets the emperor's helm which helps enhance his tankiness but also helps keep his sanity in check from the tortures of Curze and whatever else has happened in the last ten thousand years.
And finally the Khan gets the iron halo to help protect him while he moves at top speed.
Sanguinius gets the other spear. That cover is too iconic.
@@discopete117 are you talking about the Spear of Telesto? That was the spear Sanguinius used during the surge of Terra
Rogal Dorn is getting the emperors hooked on phonics book so he can finally learn how to read.
Hey Bricky hey DK, you guys will probably never see this but that’s okay. I just wanted to thank you both for all you do with warhammer. You’re podcast has gotten through some rough times as I’m working on my mental health and need every friend I can get. Rogoon Dorn.
Also Rogal doesn't need anything for he already has *ROGAL DORN'S COLOSSAL CHAINBLADE-*
Rogal Dorn being an Open-Top Imperial Knight sized Dreadnaught is some thing I didn’t know would fit, and now I can’t sleep without thinking about it.
When Dorn comes back, I fully expect him to be so pissed off that he goes hard into the Black Templars
New Shy game coming out? Nice!
*Trailer mentions Augury Point*
Wait, this game takes place in the same place the Unidentified Signal 99.9 FM podcast takes place?
The emperor's sword? Ohh my pocket knife... I am saving my real sword for Vulkan
Coming in half a year after this came out cuz I'm just getting to this episode, but it's pretty clear I think that Con would have the cape. Y'all glossed over it. How badass would he look with that thing riding on a motorcycle? It would also kind of give a tattoo vibe to it.
I sort of remember the Emperor having a jetbike. Khan could get that maybe?
I could see the Khan getting some never heard of before bike.
Dorn gets the bolter, though I could see him getting the claw if instead of a new item Corax gets some demon bird armor.
Corax gets the claw unless he gets nothing.
Russ gets the spear of course, probably also a couple pet ravens, and looses an eye.
Volkan gets Big E's backup armor. Or like a blacksmith hammer.
As much as I know people gonna say it’s hard you know he has to have some sort of fault or storage like fallout 4 cabinet holding few extra pieces of gear just makes sense
Look Big E had to get around somehow. Kahn gets the emperor's Jetbike
I know I'm half an hour late in the game, but tilt shield was to protect vulnerable armpit.
The shoulder armor piece is to protect your armpits as they are a vital part of your body and when it come to armor it can be weaker compared to the already covered normal vitals like chest, thighs, and head.
