    Comments will keep piling from others for been so kind in showing us the path in learning how to use MAYA. This tutorial opened my doubts and taught me my obscure intrigues. Thanks!!

    Just found this channel. I’m new and by far you’ve done the best job at explaining things. Much like the community your voice and sound are key elements to these videos

    You also really inspired me and helped me to make my own speed art/modeling of stuff too. Thank you for being helpful ^~^/

    can you elaborate on merging the vertices after deleting the extra surfaces at the 4:38 mark? Maya's not letting me snap to the middle vertex and there's absolutely no explanation in the video as to how you did it.

      The only way that I could get it to work was by combining the two halves into a whole piece. The only thing about that is now i have to manually select the opposite vertex/ line when i want to mirror a movement

    vertex snapping doesn't want to let me weld the side vertices to the middle ones

    it'd be a little helpful if you could post the model you make somewhere for reference so you could link them in your comments. i was having trouble pinpointing some topology issues on my head model. but overall this is a very helpful tutorial :)

    How to snap vertices to center

    • @knp4641
      @knp4641 5 років тому +3

      Hold V and Move Object = snap to vertex point
      Hold C and Move Object = snap to curve/edge
      Hold X and Move Object = snap to the grid
      You have to hold down V, C or X while moving the object to keep snaps on. Make sure you have snaps disabled in the Status Line in order to use these shortcuts.

      Well I make these videos for my college students to go along with an assignment or a lecture, then post some of them here so they can access them forever, and so the videos can help others. I would like to make more videos, but it depends on my schedule and the classes I teach.

      i don't know about others, but i can say that i have learned alot from your channel, and by far it has helped me much with getting to know how to model on Maya, and generally how to professionally use Maya.
      the problems with other youtube videos are mainly the voice over and not mentioning each taken step verbally, it truly affects the process of learning, and that's why i was glad to find your channel, and was hoping to see more videos like "Maya: Simple Character", and maybe even get a part 3 of it? to reach a finalized character, for those who are not lucky enough to attend your college classes.
      anyway, thank you for your efforts and what you have already done, hope to see more, and i wish you the best! :)
