Got to do this shelf road a couple months ago. After watching and reading about it for years! Bucket list dream come true and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time!!! Loved it!
What a beautiful road ride. As an experienced truck driver, I see that you are all very skilled drivers. Which I would join without any worries. These are road rides that don't require overconfidence. Great to see, craftsmanship))👌
Missed you by two days. We were lucky to get to ride BB this year. It's been closed for a couple weeks now due to mud slides and as of yesterday it's now closed for the season. Washed out.
I saw the words Black Bear Pass and thought that sounds very familiar. Yep. The year was 1976. I was 13. I didn't do the guided tour but my sweet mom did. She would have been 31 years old. We were at a family reunion at a Telluride campground. She came back with a vicious head injury from a rollbar.
Wow! Quite a recollection. I've seen those tour guides with those trucks, and asked my passenger that very question, "do those folks hit their heads?" I guess they do.
15:35 This is the first video where I've noticed a "Road Closed" gate. Doesn't seem like much room to turn around. MIght have to go in reverse for about 1,000 ft to a wide spot on the trail. Yep. A real challenge for off-road lovers and a terror for those who only ride on paved roads. That's an adventure³!
When did they get it re-opened? We came through Telluride the first of Oct 2023 and there were multiple landslides that had covered the upper switchbacks below the falls. A few days after that when we came through again, it was already covered in snow! Some of the locals were talking like they might just leave it closed indefinitely. Parts of the steps above the upper falls and the switchbacks below sure look narrower than I remember when I last crossed it in 2018.
Hey there, It opened the 2nd week of July this year. It was open for a few weeks and then closed again (still closed) due to mud slides. They're still getting rain so not sure if it'll open again this year. We were very lucky! Cheers
Good video. I would think the State of Colorado would take better care of such a popular road. There is probably federal money available but when you have a congressioal delegation with the likes of Lauren Boebert, you're not likely to get the paperwork done to get the cash.
@chipper3722 it would be better to buy from the used market get it spruced up. You will need tons of planning and a minimum of 2 months of travel if not more. And then time the season. Snow bound areas are inaccessible during certain months
@@chipper3722 I’m miss my northern Utah mountains this. I know the back canyon roads. But I don’t have the right wheel s for the black canyon pass. Yet. That’s for sharing that!
Onde fica essa estrada ou trilha? Qual o percurso inicial e o final que vocês fizeram? Porque seu governo não transforma esse percurso em uma estrada asfaltada? Sou do Brasil.

Thank you. Appreciate the compliment.
Wow...❤❤❤ Which region?
Western United States in the San Juan Mountains.
What is the word? Are they going to finish Imogene for spring jeep adventure?
I think they've opened part of it back up. Usually opens back up in July.
Come to India this road is very simple
I'll have to rent a truck there!
