It might be. We were in shock at how amazing this trail was. I want to get back out there this summer and take our time a bit more and not race the snow storm.
Early to mid-September has the best colors. The reds and yellow gold are breathtaking. I camped at 11k + feet, and it was freezing, but the days were warm. It hailed rained and snowed the night before I went down black bear pass, so it was a little icy, but wow, what an awesome trail also!
Yes, I had to ask the locals on that also. My pronunciation was way off. Had a great time there, and the locals took me to some way off the beaten path to show me some really beautiful spots I never would have found on my own. Totally fell in love with the place and the people. Did a lot of hiking in the surrounding mountains and ran into a lot of head stones and urns placed out in the woods. Obviously, this area was very special for them before they passed!
Wish we could do the trip again this year, but this year one of the kids is now old enough for school. So vacation time has to be a bit more planned :(
Love the badge of honor trails in Colorado. I think we did this one, Ophir and Black Bear pass in 2021 in the JL. I want to do them again in my JK. Let’s goooooo!
Nice video. Did Imogene a few years ago. Go slow and in low and you will not have problems. The view at the top is worth it! Amazed by those who mined the gold in the past. Between my right shoulder arthritis flaring up and my anxiety in not knowing the trail, I did not enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Would like to do it again and take my time and enjoy it. BTW, Lunch in Telluride was nice. Thanks for the video!
By the looks of the trees (and condition of our sticker on the sign) you were probably there about a week or so behind our crew last September - the colors are amazing mid-late September!
They were. That was our original dates planned but had issues in utah and burt a whole week waiting on parts. I think we did this trail Oct 1st. Thank you for watching
Thank you. I said that and a local in the area said i needed more emphasis on the O. Then i had someone tell me the way you say it. I appreciate everyone for trying to educate me and and talking. One of the things i like about visiting new places. Thank you for watching the video.
3:11 the black Jeep looked like a sad puppy watching you guys leave. I want to drive this trail one day. Don’t think my stock expedition would make it though. She’s got 4H and 4L but don’t think she’s got the clearance. I also live across the country from there. Would be a road trip.
Thank you for watching. Without a spare, it would be a long drive on a rim back down to the town. Maybe find a friend with roughly same size tire and wheel. That way you could use theirs.
Your pronunciation is incorrect. It's pronounced like you're saying image! Great video. It's a beautiful place. I can't wait to go back. Great looking jeep, too!
I have no idea. I've spent a couple of months in that area, and all the locals were pretty adamant about the pronunciation. Kinda like Nevadans, pronounce Nevada wrong, and you might get smacked....😂
Do you think you recorded the most rugged sections of the trail, or was there anything more rugged than we saw here? Would this be a good “first time” trail for a newbie? Great video, thanks!
Yeah, the ouray one was difficult. I had so many people in town tell me different ways to say it. I ended up going with the two commons and neither were right hahaha. As for un-come-pah-gray, that is good to know. I recorded someone local saying it so i could repeat it, but guess I got it slightly wrong. Its not the easiest to say. Anyway, thank you for watching,
if you ran it from telluride to Ouray, you could probably do it in 2wd, but take the early exit. If you go the way we did, you might have issues near the top as there was some rough areas up there. You still might be able to do them in 2wd depending vehicle, tire, and pressure. But will be a challenge.
Excellent video of an excellent place for easy off-roading in the right weather conditions! ❤ Gorgeous views presented with the right music and…voice. 😊 I did this last August and September during an almost two month trip from Atlanta, GA, that concentrated mainly on Ouray,Colorado; Moab, Utah and Sedona, Arizona! In my 2020 JGC Trailhawk that got me 7 Jeep Badges of Honor (my total thus far is 15). Greetings from Greece now. I am a fan, you got me hooked and I subscribed!
That has to be one of the most beautiful trails.

Sounds amazing
Absolutely beautiful.
Thanks for taking us along
Thanks for watching
This was such a cool trail. I am so going back to do it again.
For sure
It was indeed beautiful last September 2023 waiting for the color change coming again in a few weeks😎
Wish we could do the trip again this year, but this year one of the kids is now old enough for school. So vacation time has to be a bit more planned :(

Yes..... This summer. Lets roll out after the kids B-Day.

Definitely worth a second trip. Let me know how it goes. Thank you for watching.

Want to do this trail? We have the goods you need to experience this legendary adventure.
Your trail guides are the best. We used it on this adventure.
This is a bucket trail for sure
Absolutely
Awesome video and scenery!
Thank you, and it was beautiful
Pronounced "you ray"...but understandable that it's hard to pronounce when you're new to the area. Great trip video...thanks for sharing....

There was an alternate entrance where you could skip that first two hard obstacles
It’s a good Subaru trail. Nothing difficult.
Agrees. Great trail for any AWD or 4x4 looking for a memorable day
Great video, was there last September and the scenery is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching. I hope the weather was a little better on your trio than ours
@@JeepAdventures perfect the whole time we were there. Storms came the day after we left.
Lucky, hahahah
I can do it, but I don’t have a spare tire set up right now lol so I don’t know if if I should risk it
Beautiful video❤
Thank you for watching. Without a spare, it would be a long drive on a rim back down to the town. Maybe find a friend with roughly same size tire and wheel. That way you could use theirs.
You gotta download Telluride by Tim
McGraw and sing it whenever you’re in the area - on the radio of course
Well i sing better then I dance, but that isn't saying much.
Likely a Pika running across the trail.
Chu?
Thanks, just looked it up.
Lets here it, what do you think?
Are you talking to yourself again?
Well, what do you think? Is this cool, boring, what?
Your pronunciation is incorrect. It's pronounced like you're saying image! Great video. It's a beautiful place. I can't wait to go back. Great looking jeep, too!
Interesting, thank you
I didn't mean to offend or criticize. I apologize if I did. 😊
You didn't at all. I found it interesting. Any idea why it is pronounced that way?
I have no idea. I've spent a couple of months in that area, and all the locals were pretty adamant about the pronunciation. Kinda like Nevadans, pronounce Nevada wrong, and you might get smacked....😂
hahaha, yeah they are the ones that heard me say ouray (Yur-ay) and I was told I was saying it wrong. I needed more "O".
Are you running Dana 44's with 4.10 gears front & rear? What size are your tires? Really enjoying the wheeling on this channel. Thank you, Brandon 😇
They are the stock rubicon axles. So something similar to Dana 44. Tires are 38 Falken
Do you think you recorded the most rugged sections of the trail, or was there anything more rugged than we saw here? Would this be a good “first time” trail for a newbie? Great video, thanks!
I covered pretty much everything on the trail. You can find more details on trailsoffroad if looking for more details.
Awesome video like always. How long does it take you to finish the trail?
Probably could do it in 2 to 3 hours
Which month did you go that trail? May? Our family plan to go Alpine loop in June 14 and may take Imogene Pass
We went Oct 1st
Was this trip in the fall? All the leaves are yellow.
Yeah, the trip was October 1st
It's open already?
Not yet, close. This was the day before the snow stuck.
Ouray, "your ray". The river is pronounced Un-come-pah-gray
Anyway, thank you for watching,
How much of it is 2wd friendly if anything

Souray and emogene
Souray?

What time of year is this?
This was October 1st
What do you think?
@@JeepAdventures I'm going to be there next fall. Were all the passes still open?
So the very next day the snow stuck and didn't melt for the rest of the season. So if you could, i would be out there in Sept and no later.
They probably filmed this last October. I was there in early September, just some of the trees were starting to turn yellow.
It’s pronounced you ray
thanks, i was shocked on how many different ways people told me there
