Vincent D'Onofrio as Thor in the 1987 film "Adventures in Babysitting." I wonder if this was filmed before or after he filmed FMJ! A great little clip!
This is sweet because although he was a tough guy and used to the ruthless city he found he had a soft spot for the cute little girl despite not really wanting to show it. The moral of this little scene is even the toughest and hardened of people has a heart deep down.

I love who D'onofrio is willing to gain/lose weight or dye his hair for his work. He's so good. I also had a crush on him in this movie when it first came out and I think I was only 6! Guess my taste hasn't changed. :0)
You know what's really amazing? He was 280 pounds when he did the Gomer Pyle character and then he dropped the weight and bulked up in time to play this character.
I am surprised how much things are connected: Thor in this movie, it was directed by Columbus, Columbus directed Branagh as Lockhart in Harry Potter and Branagh is directing now Thor the movie. Branagh was in Valkyrie movie and now directing Thor: Thor and the Valkyries are part of the same world. Love those connections.
My husband bought this movie for my kids a month ago. I hadn't seen it in like 20 years...when this scene came up I was like "OH MY GOD it's Vincent D'Onofrio!!! AND HE'S STILL HOT!!!" Hubby didn't like that too much haha
the Buick Electra Estate Wagon was a true American classic! .. I miss the big station wagons of the 1960's and '70's! .. when kids could sit in rear-facing third seats and hung out of the rear windows on the way home from Cub Scouts or baseball practice! It was a great time to be a kid before video games and computers! We actually played outside too!
I'm kinda of sorry the Thor obssessed kid didn't get to play Jane Foster or Darcy Lewis in the "Thor" movie. Or at least have D'Onofrio have a few lines or something.
