    I was looking for advice on doing detailing like this on my non dominant side. I thought there was something that could be done that makes it way easier but I guess there isn't. I am very right side dominant and it's like only half of the piece I'm working on turns out so good and I can't replicate it on the other.

      I know how that can be . It’s practice practice practice. It always sounds like a quick response but it’s the truth . On your non dominant side slow down think the cuts through be purposeful in each cut . Eventually it will be easier. Well a little maybe a little easier lol

    If use the top handle to carve the fur what will be the different in handling it compare to rear handle chainsaw ?

    • @KyleHallwoodworker
      @KyleHallwoodworker  2 роки тому

      I have heard other carvers dealing with more joint pain over time that use a top handle . May not be the same for everyone but I think we have more control with a read handle saw .

      @@KyleHallwoodworker yeah I couldn't found any video on top handle carving chainsaw and I think most carver prefer the rear handle. BTW... What is the different of the carving gauge 0.043 and 0.050 to your art or reliability of the chain ?

    • @KyleHallwoodworker
      @KyleHallwoodworker  2 роки тому

      50 is a bigger chain I feel it’s a bit more aggressive than the 43. I like the smaller 43 for the fine detail lines and precise cuts. As far as reliability I run Stihl brand chains and have had no issues.

      @@KyleHallwoodworker I'm planning to buy the Stihl MSA120 because 140/160 not available in my country. I want to use for detailing work and not sure can it cut or battery last how long compare to 140.
      What is your advise ?

    • @KyleHallwoodworker
      @KyleHallwoodworker  2 роки тому

      I believe anything lower than the 160 runs a smaller battery. The 160,200,220 all run bigger batteries . Those are what I have . The 140 might be good for details I do see other carvers using them . I do not know if a dime tip bar will fit or not would have to check with a dealer
