Your videos help, thank you.👍
Sweet video kyle. Your very generous with yourself wanting to teach art work in wood. Thank u. I like his little beard to fun. I never noticed how detailed the noses were either. It seems we are all always learning something new from one another .
Thank you

Thank you Neil
I'm trying to carve a train with box cars for all the grand kids, to play on. Something simple? With a cow catcher?
Just became a new subscriber and excited to be watching. I'm 54 been a climbing arborist since high school. Carving has always been an intrest to me. Would love to dabble some as retirement gets closer. Been making some bowls for fun. Found your channel when looking at the jaw horse.
That’s awesome Darren ! Thanks for the sub ! I have several tutorials to walk you threw your first bear and a few other pieces . Have fun and stay safe !

Immensely thanks dude...
Awesome! You’re welcome! Also if you buy burrs from Saburrtooth.com use code HALL10 for a discount
@@KyleHallwoodworker sorry bud....I carve out back at a renz welding shop and I get all the metal carbide bits I can handle. Somehow I ended up with some pretty spectacular friends that have extended unbelievable opportunity for me to continue on with my passion.
@@Ruf-Art-by-Tim that’s awesome Tim ! No worries I don’t make one red cent when people buy saburrtooth not even when they use the code I offer .
@@KyleHallwoodworker everyone else makes a red Penny well saving is making isn't it
I mean yea I guess it kind of is if I use a discount. In all fairness they do reach out when they create new burrs . They send them over and have me try them out before they are available to the public. No charge . So I mean I do not make money but I get some awesome burrs every now and then .
❤Awesome
Thank you
Hy Kyle
Do you have short carving bars on those battery driven Stihl saws. If so do you have links to where that stuff can be obtained?
I run a Stihl dime tip bar on my msa160 . The other batterysaws have stock bars on them . I ordered them right from the dealer .
Hey man been watching for a while. Nice work. I’d like for you to let us know the size of the wood you start with. Thanks
Whatever I can get my hands . I will try to be more specific in future tutorials
Awesome job!!! I really enjoy your videos. What kind of wood do you usually use for a job like this. Thanks.
Thank you ! I’m usually carving pine
What kind of wood is good for chainsaw carving items that will stay in weather. In Indiana.
I mostly carve pine and put an exterior finish on them . Cedar is also a great option. Putting a final finish or clear coat is the best way to keep any carving looking it’s best over the years
Great video amigo! Kyle, what type of chain saw & bar do you recommend with a budget?
Thank you ! I think the stock Stihl MS 170 is a good starter saw . It’s on the cheaper end light . Plus with this saw you can swap the sprocket, bar and chain for a detail carving kit . I saw start with the saw and just carve also remember to get some PPE / safety gear
@@KyleHallwoodworker thanks alot amigo I just went to Northern Tools and picked one up. Plus all the safety gear you recommend.
Hi where do I get one of these die grinders your using in this video Kyle
The ones I use are from harbor freight. I believe I link them through Amazon in the description. Also some big brands make them as well dewalt Makita
Good job body I'm learning from you.
Awesome! Glad I can help !
What is the name of the burrs that you use to make the eyes? Thx
I use the Saburrtooth flame burr green 1/4 shaft for use in a die grinder they also make them smaller with a 1/8 shaft
