I've owned the clamps and prepper since they both came out and it never dawned on me what I can put in them. Thanks again! This series is EXCELLENT! and I've been since the mid nineties. Great work, guys!
As always, a super-helpful skill builder, Cheech! So regarding CDC puffs, onetime I needed to tie CDC collars on flies. I had puffs but no feathers. I made a dubbing loop, inserted a couple of puffs and cut the stem above the base. I was then able to spread the fibers more evenly in the closed loop and wrap. Worked really well. Thanks for providing these tutorials! They help me immensely!
I got the 2" clamp when it first came out. It's a cool tool. In fact, some guy in Orem, UT, sold it to me, too. I forget who that guy is, but he looks like Fly Tying Moses. Kidding aside, these Skill Builder vids have been hitting it out of the ballpark, that is, if you like baseball.I don't but its still a good term to use. I have been tying Slumpbusters, and the tool is great for making an even cleaner collar on the fly.
I once was able to go on a ride along with a bunch of waterfowl biologists, banding ducks and screening for virus on the Yakima WLR. Each duck I processed got a little extra procedure, and I came home with a bag on CDC. All the same color, however.
A few years ago, there was a lot of enthusiasm for snowshoe hare as a substitute for CDC. I tried it and it seemed good at making small dries that were much more durable than CDC. It sometimes seemed that CDC dry was only good for one fish. The CDC would get slimed and wet, and not much good unless you cleaned it out and dried it until the next day. Is there still an enthusiasm for snowshoe?
Excellent video Uncle Cheech. I just have to ask. Is that a Luminox watch you have on? Also this is an excellent series. And can I become a “Pro” watching these videos?😂😂

This series is phenomenal, tons of useful information in concise videos. Thanks for all the effort put into producing these, really appreciate it.
Another great Skill Builder video. I especially liked the marabou part. Nice material clips. Thanks.
Really good stuff Cheech. Go Red Sox.
Man I like these videos, very helpful tricks/tips
Loving these! HUGE HELP

Is that the Hareline Material Clamp 1.5”? Hard to tell from that subtle labeling.
Great video. Thanks.
Great skill builder. Man, that's a gnarly scar!
Hot glue will kill your whole fam if you don’t watch it.

Once again . Thanks.
Could you do a demo on tying a euro nymph with a CDC collar?
Good job as ever Cheech. Do you ship to the UK?
Like those hairline clips. How do you like the new bobin so far?
Why trim tip/butt in the foam holder if you’re just going to trim the stem immediately after?

Snowshoe is great but in my opinion it’s a completely different material than CDC. Both r great for dries with pretty different applications.

Yessir. Lightweight, glows, unbreakable. Love it!
The little window that pops up in the corner of the video says all these little nifties are out of stock……..
they pumped ....we dumped!
What does that mean???
Everything is out of stock. It seems a shame we have to buy it somewhere else after you show us the video on how to use it!!! Tight lines🕷️🐜🐛!!!!!!
Whelp… we sell out fast on some things but luckily we order weekly with most places. They’ll be back in stock soon.
It’s a common issue for me with FFF.
I hear you! We move a LOT of product.
Those that complain about FFF being out… send them some Red Iguana mole enchiladas, you’ll be surprised what secret stash will be opened to you
@@frankyaun this would be a great plan as long as they are sent Attn: Cheech
The hardline clip doubles as a sophisticated roach clip, or so I’ve heard.
You can travel down any road. Just no coming back if you want to use cdc again.
😂
@@frankyaun but maybe that’s why they come in a two pack. I’ll experiment and let you know.
@@FlyFishFood I can see a Fly Fish Food head shop on the horizon.
There is a copy of the European CDC clamp on Amazon that is much less costly, but when I last looked, it had 0 reviews.
