It's his voice, persona, some of his funkiest and most soulful songs, his moves, his whole presence. Disco Donn Kanye understands art.. it’s about ideas and it’s about sharing those ideas or make something creative with them or learn from the past or the present and show respect for it in different way with trying to make something original with it .. but I can be wrong I am sadly so not a artist.. life right..! 😔😁😜
You know, that answer explaining why musicians really struggle with getting out there in this decade really resonated with me. I really needed some confirmation that other people are feeling how I feel. I have toured twice at the beginning of the decade and I want to get back out there, but I can't take the risk anymore. I'm 28 and I need to be able to pay rent and eat anything. The game has changed a bit, and I'm not sure I know how to catch up. Sometimes I wonder if I failed. But at least now I know, it's not just me.
Andrew Jackson Jihad is one of my favourite bands, there's a huge emotional connection there too, just about as deep as you could imagine, so I definitely bought your point about only listening to the classic stuff
Thought of Buckethead as soon as you talked about artists with comically large discographies. I love the guy and his playing but I doubt I'll ever in my life listen to every piece of music he's put out.
The only thing necessary for a band to be your favorite is that you like more of their stuff than any other band. If the only rock songs you vibe with are We Will Rock You, Under Pressure, and We Are the Champions then Queen is you favorite rock band, simple as that.
I think it's good to use 6ix9ine as a new example for the art v artist debate. I've written a few articles about the art v artist debate, but I think 6ix9ine gives a different perspective. I think his music is trash, and I've only argued about separating art and the artists when I like their product. But what happens when you legitimately hate the material an artist puts out while also disagreeing with the artist? Should this be given less weight than controversial artists that you like? We can make caveats for people that we love that are total shitbags, but should it be any different for people that also produce art that we hate? I think this would be really interesting to explore.
If you hate the art an artist puts out and you hate the artist the best thing to do is just ignore the artist. If enough people do this, he/she will eventually go away.
LETS ARUGE: Tupac and Biggie are overrated. They’re better rappers with lyricist, storytelling, and word play, etc. Since Pac and Biggie died in their prime their fans overrate them, Not saying their music is bad but fans overrate them.
Agh, when you mentioned the super gigantic discography of an artist that even huge fans may never hear, I immediately though "Jeez, who is that really besides Buckethead?" And then you cited him ha I agree with most of this round, Anton!
Let's Argue: calling a veteran in rap an oldhead, and that they are now irrelevant for being old is childish, and shows that the accuser just is a reverse "born in the wrong generation" kid, but somehow even more cancer.
What dictates what your favorite artist is just what artist you enjoy listening to the most. Maybe I've only heard those three albums by Pink Floyd but keep coming back to them again and again, and enjoy those three albums more than any other bands entire discography, who's to say they can't be my favorite band? Having a favorite artist is not the same as being an expert on said artist.
You can get sample packs of instruments and yes playing guitar in myself is better for me because ive been playing for like 5 years longer than the 3 years ive been producing. But Kontakt has an insane musical sample library, realistic drums, and omnisphere allows you access to soo many popular samples along with expansion packs you can buy to update the sounds. Hell even ezdrummer allows you to make a drum track in 5 minutes.
Lol overvalue originality? 😂😂 I can't even say I'm surprised by someone saying that because we live in a decade now where originality is shunned by people who just want to hear the latest generic Trap single.
I agree but when it comes to the point the music sounds like shit and it's being purposefully done for the sake of "originanality" I think that's too far

I'm 28 and I need to be able to pay rent and eat anything. The game has changed a bit, and I'm not sure I know how to catch up.
Sometimes I wonder if I failed. But at least now I know, it's not just me.
LET'S ARGUE: Anderson .Paak -- Oxnard is underhyped
Well he hasn't promoted it a ton
Underhyped? Like what does that even mean?
I don't know who this is but I agree
How? A quick search shows recent articles written about it. I'm sure it'll pick up more traction once out. Paak delivers.
When is it coming out?
Machine Gun Kelly should drop everything and become a farmer with how corny his diss track was.
Its probably good that I can't afford to be an artist because I probably suck!
Bassthony mantano here. I like seeing those musical intros from the melon dude.
LETS ARGUE Russ is the GOAT of mediocrity.
AGREE
Andrew Jackson Jihad is one of my favourite bands, there's a huge emotional connection there too, just about as deep as you could imagine, so I definitely bought your point about only listening to the classic stuff
This comment would like to bring up current events considering the title of the video
This is the first LET'S ARGUE episode I've seen where the thumbnail is not the first tweet Melon discussed in the video
Damn, Totino's Hard Rock Joe really bounced back.
Lmao I knew that intro reminded me of something
I can appreciate that bass line for your intro, you're really good at bass!
I've always wanted melon to talk about buckethead. I guess this is all that I'll get.
Thought of Buckethead as soon as you talked about artists with comically large discographies. I love the guy and his playing but I doubt I'll ever in my life listen to every piece of music he's put out.
But Lil Pump DID sing on his track “Lil Pump”
The only thing necessary for a band to be your favorite is that you like more of their stuff than any other band. If the only rock songs you vibe with are We Will Rock You, Under Pressure, and We Are the Champions then Queen is you favorite rock band, simple as that.
lets argue: anthony fantano is a views chaser...
Everybody who gives their opinions in UA-cam videos thinking that anyone else cares is a views chaser.
@@loganleatherman7647 these videos do well and people enjoy seeing them so I wouldn't see why he wouldn't keep making these videos
i cant resist liking the video while the melon plays the bass

I think it's good to use 6ix9ine as a new example for the art v artist debate. I've written a few articles about the art v artist debate, but I think 6ix9ine gives a different perspective. I think his music is trash, and I've only argued about separating art and the artists when I like their product. But what happens when you legitimately hate the material an artist puts out while also disagreeing with the artist? Should this be given less weight than controversial artists that you like? We can make caveats for people that we love that are total shitbags, but should it be any different for people that also produce art that we hate? I think this would be really interesting to explore.
Quality comment.
Roman PG Didn’t you read? I said their music isn’t bad, Fans like you overrate them
this is my favorite bass intro
Every single *lick* of Buckethead.
Like, a guitar lick?
Anthony, you're better than these puns.
Agh, when you mentioned the super gigantic discography of an artist that even huge fans may never hear, I immediately though "Jeez, who is that really besides Buckethead?" And then you cited him ha
I agree with most of this round, Anton!
People really out here saying Kamikaze is better than Veteran 😂
GPrice2000 that’s what bias does to you
That worries me.
Whose album is veteran?
Piyush Vaidya JPEGMAFIA's
never even heard of the other artist soooo lol
love the bass intros
Let's Argue: calling a veteran in rap an oldhead, and that they are now irrelevant for being old is childish, and shows that the accuser just is a reverse "born in the wrong generation" kid, but somehow even more cancer.
Best series on UA-cam, don't argue.
LETS ARGUE:
my dad is sleeping with my sleeping
That's so weird, I was just at work thinking about that and when I get home you got a video out already!?
Digital software?, show me analog software melon
im really diggin the funky openings as of late. Man can slap.
Review Veggie Tales plz!!!!!!
POOPANTHONY SCOOPNTANO
You can get sample packs of instruments and yes playing guitar in myself is better for me because ive been playing for like 5 years longer than the 3 years ive been producing. But Kontakt has an insane musical sample library, realistic drums, and omnisphere allows you access to soo many popular samples along with expansion packs you can buy to update the sounds. Hell even ezdrummer allows you to make a drum track in 5 minutes.
Danny1243 nexus is better fuck you
Lol overvalue originality? 😂😂 I can't even say I'm surprised by someone saying that because we live in a decade now where originality is shunned by people who just want to hear the latest generic Trap single.
QUIT SAYING RACIST THINGS
FAX
We truly LIVE IN A SOCIETY
I agree but when it comes to the point the music sounds like shit and it's being purposefully done for the sake of "originanality" I think that's too far
Listen to free improvisation
IN THIS EDITION of LET's ARGUE: yeeeaah you kind of have a point, but also THIS
