I'd give it a good cleaning while I was in there. That's what I love about this UA-cam Machining community we are in, everyone is always willing to try to help the other guy!
Chris Finally fixed my lathe. The switch was a red herring. Nothing wrong with it. The problem was the main contactor inside. The magnet coil was detached. A little pin the size of one in a watch strap had dropped out. The coil was moving but not pulling the switch down with it. Thanks again for taking the time to help and keep up the good work. Mine is also acting up sometimes, mostly when using the reverse lever.
I think a god cleaning will do the trick
