Love seeing this Flathead build ... I am 76 now and way out of the game but as a young teen in 1960 I cut my teeth on Flatheads. My dad owned an Auto repair shop and a auto wrecking yard so with his instructions and parts availability was an ideal situation. So eventfully following many of the same procedures you are doing in your Videos. Watching you build this Flathead is to me its like listening to music from my past, it just takes me back in time. By 1963 I had a very strong 286 cu in. 8BA Flatty with shaved heads , Malory Mag Spark ignition, Fenton Headers, Duel Stromberg's in a 1949 Ford Coupe. It ran great, the problem I had was keeping a transmission behind it ...went thru many a cluster gear lol. I cant wait to hear yours fire up.
So glad to hear that you are enjoying this build as much as me maybe even more. Ran into a small snag with the custom bottom pulley lining up correctly with the super charger. I have the pulley at the machine shop getting small fix done on it.
I found that these were. Timely but not too complicated if one wants to be complex just think of an motor with valves and no valve springs. They work well but the complexity well make ones head feal like exploiding. Interesting video. 😂
It is determined by your install hight as I explained. The spring pressure happens when you install the valve and spring and put the retaining clip in place in the block

You are awesome Todd thanks again for more information
Are those the chevy valved? Good job!
Yes they are
Do you have to pre-set the spring pressure prior to installing?

Awesome thanks for the info👍🏻
