I love mine. Sort of a first time user. I did use fountain pens back in the 90s but didn’t understand them and they always seemed rough to me. This is nice and smooth and great for my sort of first time getting back into them.
When using a cartridge style fountain pen like this one, you have to allow the feed to prime. This can be done by laying the pen horizontally or nib down for a period of time, dipping the nib in water and wiping it with a paper towel, or gently squeezing the cartridge to prime the feed. Each pen/feed has its own little quirks.
If you’re having a problem with the cartridge it’s likely because there’s a small ball at the end of it preventing ink from flowing. Poke that in with something sharp.
I have never watched any other video of a fountain pen which is better than this one.. This video is amazing... I am sure u spent hours on editing.... Very well made.. Kudos... Wish you could review more reasonably priced fountain pens which are available in India.
As an owner of this particular pen, don't use the included black ink. It's not at all good for this style of pen and feed. After switching to a better ink, it is a LOT smoother
Though this doesn’t seem like a terrible pen (especially for the price) Amazon has the Pilot Metropolitan pen for $13-$20 bucks (with a convertor and the inks) and the Lamy for $20 with inks and a convertor. I think I would spend just a tad bit more for more reliable quality. Amazing video though!
I too saw Figboot's review & decided to get both the F & M versions for my newish burgeonng collection, as much for curiosity of how they'd compare, as to how they'd perform. Happily, I'll say off the top I've been extremely pleased & more than a little surprised at how well they have thus far performed! I wasn't going to add to the pile, but seeing a comment like 'spending a tad more for more reliable quality', makes me ask, what did this one do wrong?? The slow, or 'spotty' startup - was that its mortal sin? Name me ONE pen, regardless of quality or cost, that will start writing the instant the tip touches the paper, wth a new, ie dry, feed & nib! There's one li'l detail that's been ignored here. As it plainly states in the instructions, give the cartridge a couple squeezes before you secure it. Voila! ....& once again, R.T.F.M.! I've had far more startup problems with MUCH more expensive pens than I've had with either of these. My tuppence. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm a first time fountain pen user and I've had a pretty good experience from this pen. I do have a lot of hard starts but...I don't really know what expectations should be for that🤷
Good review. I bought one last year and use it on a regular basis, but there are two problems i cannot over come with the pen. 1) after several uses, the cap refuses to post on the barrel, which is frustrating, and 2) I cannot find any reference to replacement ink cartridges or converters. I have resorted to using a syringe to refill the last ink cartridge I have left. Otherwise, I like the pen.
i don't know anything about fountain pen and i'm looking at this one wondering can I buy like a big box a ink cartridge? on amazon there is "dryden designs" that shows with 24 cartridge. how to know if they are compatible. thank you for the review really helpfull

I'll get one. I believe I will rough up the section just a bit, in an orderly, non messy way.

This pen writes much, much better than two of my three Mont Blancs 149s.
I've had this pen for the past three years and it still as good as new. the problem is now the pop cap is loose and I don't know how to fix it. help!

Definitely agree there. I will say though, I have found myself using this more and more over the last week or so to address outgoing mail.

Love your Brooks Pen, Perfect size and wow those colours. Where can I get one?
Carolina Pen Company, or a pen show are the best bets.
Nice review 👍...sir ..is this fountain pen can we convert as an eyedroper pen?

This seems to be available in the US only. It's not yet available on the canadian site
Philippe Gosselin it is now!

Just get normal cartridges, you don’t need specific ones
can you tell me where l can get the catridge? l have the pen but lost the catridge
Doo just asking but I ordered this and I couldn’t find the nib I need help
So upon looking again it’s just stuck in the cap and I can’t get it out
thanks but how do u get it to write ? ink would come out
Thanks for the useful review. Is there space for an extra cartridge at the bottom?
i just got mine but ink wont flow through the nib.
Edit: Finally got it to work
What converter works with this pen? I'm struggling to find this info.
Teoh Yi Chief's review of this pen shows a few converters that work.
Where can I get cartridges for these if I ran out?
Any short international cartridge should suffice. I’d get Kaweco, J’Herbin, or a known brand like that.
Long international cartridges will work also. I’ve got a Jinhao converter in mine.

thank you for the review really helpfull
They take “standard international” I can’t speak for Dryden, but I know you can probably get some good deals on Kaweco cartridges.
Love it.
Ink…isn’t…inking
