I'm not gonna lie, I completely forgot about Matteo. I saw him at the Masters. He had a great swing and seemed like a nice guy from the few fan interactions I saw.
Nice video! I was born in Negrar ( Verona ) just like Matteo and growing up he was my absolute favourite golfer, I still have in my room the ball he gave me at the Omega Masters in 2013 and many hats and gloves all singed. I was really lucky to have dinner with his dad who gave me many tips to improve my game. They say his brother is really good and winning in all of the tournaments he plays ( he was born in 2005)
You have no idea how well this aged. Watching this in September, 2024. Matteo has already won on the DP World Tour for the first time in 11 years, and is now in the lead with nine holes to play at the BMW PGA international, holding on to a one shot lead. Goosebumps.
So true, I remember people from Golf Club Verona talked about him and said that he was determined to hit it farther. They also said that he got a girlfriend at that time, so maybe that also contributed to his downfall 😂
Golf is a really funny game...as long as this kid’s not injured,I firmly believe that with all the physical changes in trying to hit the ball further will ultimately yield results,ALL HE NEEDS is to find that perfect swing path that matches his muscular physique that’s all. Unfortunately with golf, that takes a hell of a long time, dedication and patience. If I were you really,I wouldn’t put him off,he’s still only 28 years,he’s a baby dude,I firmly believe that once Matteo reaches that level of physical fitness then he’s gonna rise back up. I mean if TW,with personal glitches, along with all those “Career Ending” injuries, swing changes including bulking up,for him to go through all that and still come back to win after pretty much everybody had written him off,my firm belief is that anything is possible in this beautiful game of golf. This kid was born for this game and if anything I soooo wish for him to find his beautiful rhythm again and come back to win...he is one talented golfer that the world needs to see. Lucky for me I know and have seen just how great he can be...him and my homeboy Anton Haig were scarily good golfers.✌🏿🇿🇦😉 love your channel by the way.
very interesting as always.it seems to me that a lot of players with so much talent lost it if they gain muscels and changing theire swings.that might be helpfull to handycap golfers but obviously wipe out talented skills and maybe its harder to find the way back as it was changing the style they own before. The rythm is hard to find again.Maybe.Thx a lot!
@@mitchellblades me too! i think about the golfers in early years.today is complete other environment.every guy wanna have a part of the success and they all greedy as fcuk.the guy with the stick is only a load money and they cut him/her to pieces.its obviously that the person himself doesnt fcuking matters.and the most important to me is the golfers mind in terms of resitance to the glamour.if they could resist than they would play like bobby j. maybe not in his leage but very very successful am golf all day long.and its not even depends on money i think.what do you think?
back when I was 15 in the mid 80's I was a 2 handicap with tons of round in the low 70's and some 60's.. loved those muirfield blades.........then they put a weight room in town....I gained 20 pounds of muscle for hockey and just to get bigger and stronger, benching 310 and squatting 425 in a couple years.....by 18 I was hardly breaking 80 on a good day.
rory may have suffered from this too..... clearly heavy bench pressing, dead lifts and squats change the anatomy of a person.....as my father always said, "after you started lifting your swing got flat." at this point, I suspect that all that is necessary is some yoga, and body weight deep, long lunges, push ups, chin ups, hamstring extensions, and hanging leg raises along with speed and rhythm training.

Such a humble guy deserves more

I’d just love to know what would of happened to all of these golfers If they never tinkered with anything
