This worked on my sons 2007 Accord after it my honest mechanic diagnosed the faulty relay on my other sons 2006 civic about a year ago ($30 diagnosis and repair)! Took the relay to auto zone and the tech said this was the most common problem he sees on many of the 2000s era honda A/Cs. Thanks for this posting!

Same here, 03 and the AC was working fine and I was sitting in my car at work and it almost immediately started blowing warm. Did you figure out what was wrong with yours?
@@donniev8181 Hi. Thanks for the response. I had just bought it used and was blowing hot air. I turned the A/C on and the compressor was not engaged. I got a $9.00 relay from AutoZone, turned on the A/C, and the compressor was turning, but still hot air. I got some eazy freeze freon and it was in green, empty, so filled to the blue as instructed. Unfortunately, it still blows hot air. Either I did something wrong or there is another problem. Appreciate you reaching out. Been in the 100s here so its not been great driving when I need to.
I’m having a problems on my 03 Honda with the ac compressor not coming on, i will be trying this next! I hope it is just my relay as well! I’m glad this fix worked for you.
Big time helpful, I was sitting at work and my air stopped blowing cold almost immediately. These tips will help me track down the problem. Quick question, was the clip for the compressor power cable mounted? I think mine has a clip in place right beside the fan??
Great video QUESTION- where on the compressor was that wire found? I see the wire but is the plug up on top of compressor? Also, can you do a video on measuring the one pin plug connected to compressor, or in a quick response. Thank you for explaining this seeming easy diagnosis. subscribed!!
Good mechanical diagnostic skills man. My girlfriend has 2004 Honda Accord and I'm praying the cabin filter is the reason hers doesn't work. Freon is charged and radiator coolant is topped out and fresh. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Five star video. Subbed
Excellent video. I just checked my fuses and they all appear to be fine, my compressor turns on well, the condenser is great and the system is fully charged, but it will not blow any cold air whatsoever. The cabin filter is clean and the intake filter is clean. About 5 years the entire system was replaced and all of a sudden it just stopped blowing cold air and I am clueless. Have you ever heard of this issue? After watching your video I was thinking maybe it was the relay, but if it was that then no circuit would be sending for the compressor to turn on.
@@felixvargas4112 Hi Felix, I checked everything and it turned out that the pressure was low on my ac compressor and that’s why the clutch would not engage. The pulley turns on the ac compressor regardless as is the long serpentine belt, but once I added more Freon then the clutch still engaged and started to spin. Still my ac is not cold, so honestly what I think it might be now is there is enough pressure, just not enough Freon and I have no way to tell how much. I’m going to have my system emptied out, and plays will do that for about $40. Then I’ll just use an ac vacuum, make sure there is no pressure in the system and then put in brand new r134 according to Honda. Hopefully that fixes it. Previously freon was probably just added, but wasn’t vacuumed to remove possibly moisture or extra air. From what I researched it’s also important to replace the dryer too before refilling it, just make sure all Freon is removed and there is no pressure in the system
My ac isnt blowing cold either. I charged the system, replaced the relay, still clutch will not engage ans cant figure out why. I have a power probe so i can pull the relay and send power or ground to it, im just not sure at which pin and don't want to fry ecu
I see you're not answering people's comments but what the heck, maybe someone else can help. At 2:55 you mentioned the 7.5A fuse provides constant power to the relay. I checked Voltage to that fuse's socket with a multimeter and no voltage. The fuse is not blown. It's not getting power, what is my next step?
Afternoon, I'm working on the same '03 Honda accord. Same engine. The 7.5 amp fuse at the driver's interior fuse panel is good, the cooling fan, condenser fan and AC Clutch relay are all good, switched out to a BRAND NEW compressor, oiled it, charged the system, compressor still won't come on. Low pressure switch it good also. Is there anything you can think of that I may have overlooked?
My situation is similar, but my a/c compressor does turn on, just will not blow out cold air. Based on what he did in this video, did you change out your Relay's? I would take them out and bring them to advance auto parts or AutoZone and have them test them, see if that works, so you do not buy new parts for something that is not broken.
Im having the same problem. No cold air. Clutch not engaging. Fans work, charge system. Fuses good, replaced relay. I have a power probe so i want to send power to the clutch, im just not sure which location at the relay to do so and dont want to fry to ecu. I can send ground and power w the power probe.
So I have the exact same car as in the video.. I checked all fuses and 7.5 is good , on the relay for the compressor I’m only getting light on my test light at one of the 4 slots in my fuse box… I’m guessing that’s the constant power slot for the pins on the relay .. also checked the wire like you did in the video where power goes from the relay and then into the compressor but not getting any power at that point on the wire connector there at that plug …. Compressor won’t come on and just blows hot air … I know you said if you DO get power at that connector then it is prob the compressor but what if you don’t get power there ? Oh I also took another relay out and swapped it with but still nothing …
Hello, I have a Honda accord 2004 , when I start the car and try to use the ac I'd does not engage or moves the clutch, sometimes when I don't use it for a long time it will work but just for a small period of time and then won't rotate the clutch at all , but everytime I disconnect the wire and give to power the compressor worked and moves the clutch, what do you think could be the problem? The system is fully charged
